The waiter proceeded to upsell all the most expensive items and was visibly disgusted when we didn't order more (total bill was over 350). After getting the bill, we confronted the waiter on selling us a 30 dollar old fashioned, he proceeded to say "if you have financial problems you should let us know beforehand". As a Seattle native, I've been down to the waterfront countless times, but have never eaten at Elliott's until recently, and now I know why. It's located on prime waterfront and we dined outside on the deck, which was fantastic, but the food and service left a lot to be desired. We started with the manila clams and they forgot to bring our crostini. By the time they brought it, the clams were getting cold. It was also SO loaded with garlic that it could've repelled 20 vampires. Literally, all you could taste was heavy salt and garlic. The clam linguine also suffered from the same problem. It was a pile of overcooked linguine, and again, heavy on the salt and garlic, light on the pesto. The $65 filet mignon was a joke. Don't ever order this. We asked for it to be prepared medium rare and we received filet that was cut in half and completely well done. Unlike the clam dishes, the steak was under-salted and accompanied by potatoes that were cooked to different levels of done-ness and some chewy asparagus. Dessert was the only thing that we enjoyed. The 9 layer chocolate cake was devine and the best part of our meal. Overall, an overpriced tourist trap and they include a 20% service charge that gets added pre-tax and they pay their server a 12% "commission" off of the 20%. WTF?! Avoid at all costs. read more

This is a really tough review to write because ultimately the two stars are from having to wait over an hour and a half for our food. Management did agree to comp a few meals and a round of drinks for five of us, which really was kind, but then the food came out lukewarm. No one wants lukewarm fish. We assumed because they are a popular tourist spot they would be used to being so busy in the summer, but apparently a large party was sat right before our reservation at 7:30, which caused the delay. You can't beat the views and oysters at Elliott's! Located on the Waterfront, this spot is right in the middle of all the action. It's super accessible if you're nearby doing activities and sight seeing. We dropped in to specifically try out their oysters. We trusted our waiter's recommendation and let her take the reigns in choosing our assortment. Honestly, probably the best damn oysters I've ever had. Everything is locally sourced from WA! Soooo fresh and clean. Simply unbeatable. For drinks, we got a Guavarita to sip on. It's an orange infused tequila with ancho verde, agave, lime, and guava tepache. Needed a quick bite and some oysters on a sunny day, so Elliott's Oyster House was the perfect stop. I was able to get seated outside in the shade with a great view of the water. I ordered the clam chowder and, of course, oysters. The oysters were all amazing, with a great variety to choose from. They were shucked really well and came with both a mignonette sauce and a jalapeño sauce, which paired nicely with them. They are a bit pricey, but that's oysters for you. The restaurant itself is pretty big, though it can get packed during peak hours. If you're driving, just know there's no nearby parking since it's located on the waterfront, so you'll likely have to park a few blocks away. However, and it may be my fault for not calling and asking, but I was under the impression that there would be happy hour oysters when my mom and I went in June and I learned from the hostess that they do not do happy hour in the summer and this starts more in the fall. My mom and I mostly came for the oysters and there were so many options to choose from! I did like the little condiments that came with the oysters, especially the one with jalapeño. I will say that I felt the oysters were a little inconsistent with the taste and size when we ordered the same kind for the next round, but overall were good quality. Elliott's Oyster House is your typical big city downtown/tourist destination for average food and service with an elevated price. I will agree that the portion sizes are generous and the outside views are beautiful. We sat inside with a small group of friends. Our server was Parker and he was average at best. He was friendly but his service was so slow. He also seemed to disappear alot. We started with the Crab and Shrimp Dip. It was served hot and with toasted bread. We also ordered the Halibut, Coho Salmon, fish and chips, and the Chiopino. The Chiopino was by far the best option for a taste of everything. It was served in a bowl with a red broth that was delicious. There must have been a dozen clams, a dozen muscles, a 4oz piece of white fish, two shrimp and two scallops topped with a half of a fresh Dungeness crab that was all perfectly cooked and the small loaf of sourdoughbread was the best. My friend who ordered the fish and chips was disappointed because there were a lot of oil soaked fries, the fish was over cooked and also very greasy. The Halibut looked good but the texture was off. It was too dried out and chewy eventhough the polenta cake was cooked perfect. The Eclair for dessert had a nice presentation but it too was over fried. If you don't live where you can get fresh seafood and you like fried food, you won't know that this was not the best meal. Big portions but big disappointment and when the check showed up, they charge a full 20% gratuities on the whole bill so you are tipping on the tax too. read more

An amazing and delicious experience would be an understatement for this place. From the wait staff to the oyster choices to the cocktails to the menu that is not seafood to the kids menu to the beautiful view of the pier. It all just came together in this restaurant. Both nights the wait staff was excellent with the first one being better than the second night. The cocktails were crafted perfectly and when I didn't like a cocktail, they took it away and gave me another one which to me showed class by the restaurant. My wife doesn't eat seafood, but there was a few excellent choices that she was happy with. My daughter was definitely happy with the buttered pasta and Parmesan cheese. We ended up going 2 nights because the food was that delicious and the choices of fresh oysters on a half shell were amazing. The hostess was very stressed because she had tons of people trying to come in, but she held her composure and did very well both times we came. Wow! This was a an amazing experience! I thought it might be too touristy, but what we found was a really solid, slightly upscale restaurant right on the bay. It was a beautiful day, so we chose to sit outside and take in the scenic views of the bay, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Food was delicious: fried oysters, sourdough bread, salmon ( hubby's)...I had the halibut w caprese salad and a yummy polenta but unfortunately I didn't take adequate pics of the menu so I don't remember exact preparations etc...and it was a new menu so their website did not show the updated menu. But it was so so good!!! Prices were a bit high but I guess that's to be expected for a waterfront restaurant in this area ( very touristy)... will give them a 5 star rating anyway. read more

Was in town for work and decided to take a walk on the pier. Ended up landing here to grab some oysters! They also had great reviews on Yelp which is always helpful. Greetings at the door were kind of awkward can't explain how or why, it just was lol. Since it was just myself, I opted to sit at the bar. Found seating at the oyster bar. Was greeted pretty quickly by Brandon. Service from waitstaff was kind of on the slower side (I had to grab my own menus since some time had passed... not sure if this was supposed to be handed to me at the front or not), it also took a bit to get my order and tab. But once i ordered the food came out pretty quickly (just got oysters, a beer, and chowder). But my waiter was def super friendly! Could've just been an off night. I think the saving grace here for my experience was Brandon! Glad I opted to sit at the oyster bar. This was my first time into Seattle, therefore first time visiting Elliot's. Appreciated the tidbits of knowledge he dropped regarding the oysters - honestly made me appreciate it more! Had him pick 6 different ones since I didn't have any context of the different species of oysters. Chatting with Brandon also felt like catchin up with an old friend. The oysters were delish! Decided to do happy hour at Elliot's! Two of us ordered: black raven hazy $7 sauv blanc $8 ahi poke tacos $8 HH oysters were $2.50. We tried all of them on the list. The "deer creek" one was the best one! Kumamoto was a bit disappointing $5 ea Miyagi was a better premium one $4 ea Auto 20% service charge. Staff was friendly...didn't catch their name. Elliott's is definitely a restaurant that I will check out again. Located right on the water, we sat inside since there was a possibility of rain but enjoyed the great view and the open windows. The table got oyster to split, which were all fabulous, one of us got clam chowder and the other a seafood pasta. Both were well cooked and generous. Came in at night time without a reservation, so they asked if we would be ok with sitting at the bar which had all the oysters on display. So we were fine with that and glad we got to hang out with the person who helped us learn more about the different oysters they were carrying at the time! We literally only ate different types of oysters, and they were displayed very well on the plate! We're back at Elliott's Oyster House after a many many years, and wow, what an upgrade. The space has been updated beautifully and feels more upscale while still being inviting. Service was excellent from start to finish. We felt genuinely welcomed and well taken care of the entire time. Of course, we came for the oysters, and they did not disappoint. We worked our way through almost the entire list, ordering by the dozen, and ended up finishing three dozen between the three of us. Each one was incredibly fresh and truly tasted like the ocean. We also tried the seabass and ceviche, both of which were delicious, but honestly, it's hard to beat the freshness and quality of their oysters. Keep it up, Elliott's! Man, oh, man. We came here on a recommendation by a good man, and so happy we did. We had an early dinner so we're seated immediately. Our very attentive Josiah, got our dirty martinis out quickly and picked out our oyster flight. The oysters were perfect, sweet, briny and better than any I've ever had. The mignonette and fresh horseradish make a great difference! Loved every bite! Then we put in for a Caesar salad, cup of clam chowder, 1/2 Dungeness and sweet cream butter and a bottle of nice Oregon wine. The Caesar was perfect with extra cracked pepper. The clam chowder was better than any I've ever had in Boston. Dungeness was perfect sweet, meaty, lightly covered with olive oil, lemon, parsley, some very tasty potato wedges and a side of broccolini. I'll never be able to eat crab legs again without trying to recreate the sweet cream melted butter to dip every morsel in. I ate more of the wedges than I should have... Then my hubby ordered the creme brulee to finish it off!! That's my favorite dessert... crunchy caramelized top, strawberries and fresh whipped cream... we couldn't finish it. It definitely feels like this place prides itself on unique recipes for both their food and drinks. While the oysters themselves were very good, the rich sauce they paired them with wasn't quite my favorite flavor profile. Personally, I think good ol' cocktail sauce and horseradish would have been plenty for me, but it was still a good dish! As someone who doesn't drink alcohol, I really liked that they had spirit free options available on the menu. The beverage I ordered (Spa Day) was absolutely delicious and soo refreshing. I came here for my birthday during lunch to celebrate with a couple of coworkers. We seated in the back section and our server was Griffin. He's very knowledgeable on oysters and honestly a lot of different topics which made for a very fun and entertaining lunch & learn! We quite enjoyed his company. We all have three oysters each: Indigo, Shinsei & my favorites Kumamoto. But in the end, I realize that I really love the indigo oyster!! if ever you see that at a restaurant I had to recommend that you order them! For lunch, so I ordered the grilled prawns which came with a rich and flavorful risotto ! 5/5 I would definitely order that again. It was so delicious. The risotto was cooked just right and the prawns were huge! I also paired my meal with a very nice glass of Sauvignon Blanc. I typically don't order dessert either, but Griffin came out with an amazing crème brûlée for my birthday. My coworkers ended up ordering a carrot cake, which was very moist and delicious. The ambience of the restaurant was very inviting with lots of rich wood texture and comfortable seating. If you're able to get a booth in the back, you can see Pier 56 and the water. We went to Elliott's for our 36tj Anniversary dinner. It did not disappoint but it was a delicious delight. There were six of us in our party. The service was impeccable. We had dungeoess crab cakes, the seafood ciopino stew, grilled halibut with citrus cream, wagyu skirt steak, bbq swordfish, fettuccini with Dungeness crab, wine, house made bread with creamed butter, key lime cake, and chocolate mousse cake with raspberry puree. Every single bite was delicious. The epic tastes were the ciopino broth, the bbq swordfish, and the chocolate mouse cake with raspberry. Our waitress went above and beyond. She was super sweet and attentive. She had recently gotten engaged and we talked a bit about the importance of communication and patience being key to a healthy marriage. Went here for Happy Hour (2:30pm-4:30pm, M-F at bar & lounge until Memorial Day). The hostess asked if we wanted to sit at the bar or at a table by the window. We picked the table because I just can't miss out on a view of the water, even if it's on the side of the building! I love raw oysters so I had to take advantage of the oyster deal for happy hour. There were two types- Little Skookum or Samish Pearl, for $2.50 each. Got six of each. I thought it was really cool that the menu included that the oysters were "beach" and "tumbled"... I had to look up what those terms meant and it opened my eyes to a whole new world of knowledge in oysters... but anyway back to the review... When the oysters arrived, they were on an ice tray with mignonette, lemon, and what I thought at first was pink salt. No mini spoon for mignonette so we just poured it onto our oysters and/or used our forks. The oysters were shucked well, delicious, and that "pink salt" wasn't salt... it was something like a melon flavored shaved ice... and it was amazing on the oysters!! I wish I had asked the waiter what exactly the stuff was, but I loved it. The mignonette was awesome, too. Also tried a few HH cocktails: Martini- ($10) You can choose between vodka or gin, my partner went with gin. The server asked how he wanted it, and he was able to get it "dirty" for no extra charge. I tried it too and it was definitely one of the better martinis I've ever had. Blush Crush- ($10) The description mentioned many floral elements, and strawberry infused vodka. While it tasted good, all I could taste was strawberry. I like floral flavors so I was disappointed in this. Champagne Tears- ($8) This was described as the "oyster pairing cocktail." It even had mignonette in the ingredient list. I LOVED THIS DRINK. I can't describe well what it tasted like... but it was a subtle salty & sweet something that was just so smooth and pleasant. I wish I had the recipe to make this at home. Ah yes can't forget, we also had the HH Tequila Lime Mussels ($7). While both the tequila and lime flavors didn't come through, the mussels were wonderful and plenty, and the creamy broth was great. The bread it came with was just enough to sop it up. I will say, the service was slow, but luckily we had nowhere to be anytime soon afterwards. If we did, it might've bothered me more. Also, the automatic 20% gratuity included in the check was mentioned before we even sat down, so it wasn't a surprise- but I'm not sure I'm happy with that style of charging the customer. Our server was wonderful and did not pressure us to tip anymore (although it is an option). Overall we had a great experience, and I'd recommend giving Happy Hour here a try! read more

We went for happy hour and it did not disappoint! Keep in mind: they only have about 15ish dedicated tables to happy hour so you may have to wait.
