I always add Old Bay on top, and it makes them even better! The time I went, they were really generous with the crab and there were some big chunks of crab throughout, which I loved. I will say that sometimes they can go pretty heavy on the mayo, so if you're not a big mayo fan, I'd recommend asking for it on the side. It was a very very long queue. Most importantly I think everyone was like me who just wants the ferry boat to take home. I got the crab meat nachos. I only have these crab fries about once a year as they are definitely decadent - a huge pile of crab on top a huge pile of fries - plentiful with Old Bay. I ordered the Crab Sandwich and Old Bay fries. Both were very good. They also served one of my favorite beers, Boneyard RPM IPA. Their service was very good. They managed the demand very well. I read online somewhere an article that had the best thing to try in each MLB stadium. For Safeco field it listed the Crab Sandwich, so I had to stop by and try it out. Wow what a sandwich! I was very surprised at the amount of Crab they put on these, very bountiful and filling. The bread was incredible, toasted with garlic and butter, you can't go wrong there! Hands-down the best place that offers the most quality food item in the entire stadium. They are located in center field and right above the pen. They offer a unique twist on the traditional sandwiches and fries you get from a typical stadium by adding Dungeness crab. It's definitely pricy at about $16 for each, which is understandable since Dungeness crab is expensive, but you know what? TREAT YO SELF. If you're a foodie, you'll definitely want to grab the crab sandwich. I try to make it Safeco at least once a year to catch my Angels on the road at this beautiful ballpark. I usually go to a couple of games and eat before showing up. But this time, for the second game, a day game, I decided to eat at the ballpark. I looked up articles suggesting the best items to eat at different ballparks and, for Safeco, it was this CRAB SANDWICH. Now, my only regret is that I didn't have this at both games! I walked by the stall and thought the sandwich looked pretty decent. The line wasn't too bad either so I queued up. Price-wise, it's within the ballpark (ha) of what you'd pay since you know, you're at a ballpark. Anyhow, it was an amazing sandwich! Piled between two thick and crunchy slices of garlic butter grilled sourdough was a surprising amount of shredded Dungeness crab meat and slices of tomatoes. That's it and that's all you need. In my opinion, the crab sandwich from here is the best food item in all of Safeco Field. First they take two thick slices of sourdough bread, lather on some butter and garlic, then grill them to golden perfection. After that, they pile on a mound of crab and a couple slices of tomato to make for a seriously delicious treat. Granted, the price is a little steep but, if you are at a sporting event, this is to be expected and no whining allowed. They also offer french fries which, from what I understand, can be topped with the same crab mixture that they put on the sandwiches although, if I'm going to order here, there's no way I'm missing out on that deliciously grilled bread. They do serve beer, wine, soft drinks, and water here so plenty of options to quench your thirst and having wine available is nice because there aren't many places in the ballpark that offer it. Special shout out to our new friend Eddie who took our order, got our food, poured our drinks, and took our money all in a way that made you feel like he was an old friend and not just some random vendor who didn't care about his job. It'sa "shack" stuck in the middle of a baseball park.... You stand in line with the masses and point and pick your meal. The sandwich was good, not amazing, but for new standard park food, it was tastier than I expected. The "ouch" factor was for 2 sandwiches and 1 beer, it was $50! And for that I didn't get a cloth napkin or candles at my table.... heck, I didn't even get a table! Meh.... I give it 3 stars for a few reasons, the line was ridiculously slow, the fact they only sold what 2-3 items, the wait was just silly. Also the fact that at 51 years old they "carded" me, now granted I'm not overly grayed haired, but I look "old" enough NOT to get carded, if there's a next time I'll show them my AARP and ask for a discount!!
