    Chicken ban mhi
    Rudrasis C.

I am giving one star not because of the food taste but rather because of the unhygienic service. We went to celebrate my in law's birthday. There were eight of us. I ordered chicken banh mi (pic attached), it was pretty decent and above average. I have quite a bit of experience with Vietnamese food and this is a very decent banh mi for $8.99! Some other food items ordered in the table are noodles, crawfish combo, chicken rice combo, pork chop, shrimp and fries basket, chicken strip basket and spring rolls. Now first and foremost, I was a bit confused with finding chicken strips in a Vietnamese place, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's bad! I tried the "cajun" fries and it's pretty bland, not well seasoned. Kinda disappointed at this point as I love cajun fries! But again from a Vietnamese restaurant can't expect much cajun! And I don't like fusion stuff!! It's ridiculous! Still no justification for one star. The crawfish dish was very cold apparently so they won't coming out from the shell!! Kinda strange at this point, as a place whose name has crawfish in it should have better crawfish! Anyway, this is not the dish I ordered so I should give one star for what I have experienced personally! So coming to the reason, my sister-in-law found a human hair (doesn't look like from head, yeah I know, double gross!) in her rice (deeply buried inside )! She was sitting opposite of me, so I have seen her trauma first hand. She lost appetite instantly, she was bit hesitant to make a deal out of this (which trust me I wouldn't have). But we left the place with giving generous tip to her waitress as the service of her was good even if there's hair in the food. I don't mind food tastes stale, or not authentic enough, or banh mi doesn't taste very authentic, but when there's hygiene issue, I am very strict and I think everyone should be. I want to give zero star but stopped at one for obvious reasons. Definitely will not go back to the food place who serves hair!!

Ordered the chicken combo vermicelli bowl to go... $14 Fresh ingredients and delicious. Ordered via telephone. Fast pickup. Overall I would buy it again.

    Beef Stew with Rice

I decided to order the Beef Stew with Rice instead of bread via door dash. I thought I was getting a beef stew plate, but I received beef stew soup. Not a big deal, just wasn't what I expected. When all mixed in it was pretty good. Never had rice in a beef stew pho, but it worked and was great. A ton of stew meat, carrots, broth was flavorful, came with bean sprouts, jalapeños and Thai basil. I would definitely order this again.

My favorite dish here hands down is the garlic noodles with seafood combo. I have come here in the past just for that many times especially when I'm in the area because I live in Manteca. Friday, February 23, we commuted all the way from Tracy, but it was totally worth it. Fasting on Fridays and abstaining from meat as a Catholic during the Lenten season is not easy, but if you want a seafood spot to try out this is the place to go. Only downside is the service. There was only one waitress and thankfully my family of 3 beat the lunch crowd otherwise our wait may have been much longer. The waitress was really nice and took my husband's mayonnaise allergy seriously and put all the sauces even one's without mayonnaise into covered separate sauce containers. I will definitely be coming back!

    1. Special Beef Combo Pho with Oxtail

Pho is good. I think they have a large Pho. I had order #1 with oxtails. They would have to put some more oxtails in the small bowl. The service isn't bad.

Uniquely American Vietnamese, the Crawfish Noodle & Grill's signature dish is their GARLIC NOODLES. My first order of garlic noodles ever did not disappoint. The dish was loaded with spaghetti, oysters, crab, scallops, and fish. They were tossed in a creamy buttery garlic sauce with a smattering of parmesan cheese. The staff were delightful and the atmosphere was inviting. This establishment has guaranteed my repeat visit!

Slow service. Only one person to sit and serve about 20 tables. The kitchen has only one cook. The restroom are not stocked. Food is tasty. Good flavor but shrimp are smooshy and hard to get a clean peal.

Pho Bo Vien (pho with meat balls)

Went here a couple of days ago and I enjoyed my experience! My family and I ordered pho. Before sitting, we ordered at the cash register. After that, we were quickly seated and our food came less than 15 minutes. Their quantities are huge! They give a lot of pho noodles and meat. The noodles were softer than what I'm used to, but I didn't mind it. Overall a solid place to get pho. I'll have to come back and try out their other stuff. My Vietnamese dad approves it too, and he's super picky with his pho.

Loving the vibe. They have a little area in the back where live music plays or maybe even karaoke takes place at night. Unsure what type of gigs happens here. When we went on a Saturday afternoon, there weren't any live performances. If you like 90s r&b and throwbacks then this is the place. Aaliyah, Alicia Keys, Brandy, Beyoncé, Usher, etc....yes!!! Vintage throwbacks! The staff was chill, attentive, and friendly. Love the service. Can not complain. I appreciate the split menu, a little something for everyone. They offer Vietnamese cuisine as well as Cajun seafood. YUM! The number 2: Combo Pho was a bit expensive but delicious. They load it up with plenty of meat and noodles. The broth is rich, bold, and flavorful. The food is packaged in to-go containers which is helpful if you can't finish the meal and need to pack it up to go. The containers appear small but it actually isn't. The bowls are deep and can hold a great amount of food in it. The Cajun Seafood Combo 1 comes with 1/2 pound of crawfish, 1/2 pound of shrimp with head attached, 1/2 a corn, 2 sausages, 1 very large red potato, and your choice of either rice or bread for $25. Not a bad deal. I picked the house special Cajun butter sauce since it was their most popular. I couldn't really taste the butter because the Cajun flavors took over, but I wasn't complaining. I liked it. I thought it was very delicious. Again, don't let the meal in the to-go containers fool you for the small size. It is a good portion size. A lot of food, at least for us it was. We had a custom-ordered waffle of garlic fries for $11. It was omg goodness. Super duper delicious. Crispy and garlicky. What more can a garlic lover ask for? We like this place. It was a good find. :)

I was really craving the garlic noodles, but was disappointed. I will not be inclined to go out of my way for that dish, again. .

Food came out quickly, especially for considering that every table was full in that place. I ordered the vermicelli bowl #20 with shrimp pork and chicken. I enjoyed the pork the most, there wasn't much chicken, but there was a lot of lettuce. I added all of the sauce given for my noodles, but even after that they still tasted dry. I really wish it was better, but it was just ok food.

I heard about this place for a long time and we happened to be in Modesto just down the road, so…read morewe stopped by for dinner. This place is really tiny. The bottom level had some tables that were put together to make a large table and maybe 3 other tables. They asked if we wanted to sit upstairs and I said it was fine and up there there was about four tables. I was ready to give this place 5 stars, but I did take a star off first service. When we were sat and asked what we wanted to drink and I started with my drink first and then I ordered for my daughters, the waitress asked me again what I wanted and I was confused. I told her again and then she went on her way. When it came to ordering, I asked for the chicken wing appetizer, pork chow fun and a large #1 pho with two small bowls, so that we could share. After I ordered, she asked me what size pho I wanted. Our drinks arrived, but my 10-year-olds drink was a lot larger than the other drinks we had ordered, which we weren't expecting. The chicken wings came first. We ordered them mild and I will tell you, those were some of the best chicken wings I've ever had...the sauce is sweet, the wings are crisp, but still moist. Definitely will go back and try this in a medium level. The pork chow fun looked a little bit different than what I was used to, but it tasted pretty good. It came with cabbage, broccoli, cilantro and a few other vegetables. The pho came out and the broth smelled really good and I started adding my sauces, but then realize that we did not receive a plate with any of the vegetables. Being seated upstairs, it's really hard to get the attention of your server who is downstairs. When she finally came upstairs, I told her we did not receive any of the vegetables and she went down and brought us a plate that had 3 slices of jalapeno, a pile of bean sprouts and one lime for the 3 of us. No basil whatsoever. At that point I didn't want to ask for anything else, so I let it go. A different server came upstairs and told us to take our time and had placed the bill on the table and I asked for some to go containers, she brought it promptly and then the other server had come and asked if we needed boxes when the boxes and the bag were already sitting on the corner of the table. We will definitely go back in give it another go and hopefully the service is a little bit better because I would love to give this place a 5 star review.
