Overall had a good experience here. I got the 6 oz filet and ordered medium rare, the steak came out medium well! Despite being over cooked, it was one of the best steaks I had ever had. The steak was full of flavor. GF had the tomato bisque soup and flatbread, I tried both of those also and they were tasty. The service kinda sucked overall, they were busy though. Drinks took forever, food came out slowly, server didn't give silverware and was nowhere to be found. I eventually just picked up my steak and ate it by hand. Inside ambience is awesome, we loved it but unfortunately they were too busy for us to be seated inside. We went here with friends and are glad we had reservations it was pretty busy. We were greeted by our waitress as soon as we sat down and ordered a few drinks I had the mai tai and it was good but a little strong for my taste. For dinner I had the sea bass and it was excellent my husband ordered the filet and it was cooked to the temp he wanted, it was a very good cut. For dessert I had the pot de crème and it was so creamy and the berry compote was really good. We will definitely be back. read more

After close to 30 minutes of waiting, we went back to the bar. Ordered food and it took about an hour for food because our ticket got lost behind a large table. We come here every time we are in Sioux Falls. It's our favorite place to eat. The steaks are amazing, and the sides are delicious and abundant. 1 side has plenty to share, and the martinis are to die for. You couldn't ask for better service. The staff is very friendly. 10/10 recommend. Everything was really good. It is on the pricier side but you do get what you pay for so it's well worth it. The champagne cream sauce on the walleye was to die for, and I love how they had the crab claw with the ravioli (extra meat!). Creme brûlée was good. We happen to come in on an abnormally busy Monday while passing through on our way to Chicago. So we were understandably patient. We ordered drinks, 30 min later drinks arrived then proceeded to order a $10 glass of wine, which they were out of and took the courtesy of putting in a $14 glass instead. Ordered a salad, entree, and three drinks altogether for a tab of $96. This place was disgustingly overpriced and would not recommend until they consider lowering their prices or improving everything to a five star level. Just a passing through Sioux Falls review. Used Yelp to help me get a good seafood dinner in an unknown city. This restaurant was one that came recommended. Happy I chose it. Whoowee! After being on the road this was so so good. I picked my order up so I also got to witness the sweet interior of this place. Kinda wish I'd eaten there in person. Velvet benches, luxury high back chairs and antique light fixtures. So cool. However, the food was delicious! Ordered the Parmesan crusted walleye with mushroom risotto and grilled asparagus. All of it was super tasty. Big piece of fish and that parm coating is a solid piece not a dusting. Food is undercooked and they still charge full price when you don't eat it. Lack of service to right the wrong when serving food that could potentially get you sick. I hate to be a complainer....but I also hate to get lousy service, and basically be treated like a jerk, in lieu of dining, yet that's what happened. So anyway, it was Sunday, January 16th at approximately 10:05 PM, when we walked by Crawford's, and saw on the door where it was open until 11 PM. Seeing as how everyone knows restaurants stop taking orders at their posted closing time, we felt confident we'd arrived easily on time. After all, they weren't supposed to be closed for another 55 minutes. And there was a sign, asking us to "WAIT", in order that we might be seated. So that is what we did. And we did it for approximately ten minutes, while people who were obviously employed by Crawford's (although none of them seemed to be performing any discernible labor) would occasionally glance at us, or walk by us without a word, et cetera....until my girlfriend finally walked up to the bar, only to be told that the 11 PM closing time is apparently just a suggestion, and they stopped taking orders at ten. Of course, we got there at 10:05, and you know, since we were there to participate in the Burger Challenge (an event specifically formulated for the purpose of attracting patrons to downtown establishments), that, maybe, even if we barely missed the seemingly arbitrary & unofficial 10 PM closing-of-the-kitchen (which is nowhere mentioned on their website, and the signage on the door clearly states the place is open 'til eleven), that maybe we could've still been served a pair of burgers? But apparently, the policy is just to studiously ignore anyone who comes in after the staff decides it's time to start drinking, er, I mean, that it's time to "close the kitchen", and otherwise just pretend we're not there, in the hope that we'll leave. Whereas if one of these people had merely approached us, and informed us the kitchen was closed, I'd be just mildly irked, and there'd certainly be no negative review getting posted at Yelp. But the staff treated us like garbage, and so here we are. In the future, if you're not going to serve people, then you might wish to take down the sign asking them to WAIT TO BE SEATED. I use to love this place. Great atmosphere, the drinks are good, and service use to be very good until the last couple of years. I always sit at the bar, (except once several years ago when I sat at a table for a steak and drinks and had a great experience). But a year or so ago shortly after opening, I was ignored for a couple minutes by 2 women handling a baby behind the bar. When one of them finally noticed me, she came over to serve me without washing her hands. And last Tuesday I stopped for a drink intending to stop by again later and order food to go. But, the bartender was so preoccupied with what appeared to be a cell phone inside a case or cover of some sort for the duration of my 15 minute or so experience. I took a very affluent friend who was visiting for my 1st visit. He is a high end bourbon lover and ordered a 1 oz pour for each of us of George T Stagg. When we got the bill it was $100 each for the 1 oz pour. My friend said he had never paid more than $35 at the best hotels. An excellent place on the west side of town charges $25 for the same drink, and have never been less than very pleased there. Will never go to crawfords again. I checked the reviews, and my review of this deceitful thievery was removed. If you are going to charge those prices, be honest enough to put the prices on your drink menu. read more

Boyfriend wanted to hit TX Roadhouse but I wanted something local and different. Googled steakhouses and found Crawfords. Made the reservation and so happy I did. The atmosphere of the bar/grill was old style and different. Love the lights above the bar and the chandelier above the stairs. I was sat while my bf was trying to find parking, which really was inconvenient. Ordered our drinks and food and had time to chit chat. Bf ordered the 14 oz NY strip along with the grilled asparagus with hollandaise on the side and I had the 6oz Bistro filet, honey carrots and mushroom risotto. Those steaks were cooked to perfection and tasted absolutely amazing. Bf never had risotto before and really liked it. All the food was great and we left very satisfied. I was pretty excited to try out Crawford's! I'm new to Sioux Falls & this place came up. First impression, I was so into the decor, the swanky vibe, the attire the male bartenders have on. Our service wasn't that great, it's as if the first waitress/hostess who took our order didn't even listen to anything (food allergy & how we wanted our steak). Towards the end of our dining experience, Angie took over our table. Angie was super attentive & helpful. Limited tequila options if that's what you drink. Nonetheless the azul worked and all was well. Angie suggested great dessert options as well. The peanut butter chocolate cake was my favorite. Had the surf & turf. My lobster was over cooked & burnt. We only came for drinks, but sat at the bar where everyone was raving about their meals. The service was fantastic. Bartenders were very friendly and make sure your drink never stayed empty. I was actually a little worried because I saw mixed reviews here on yelp for this restaurants but since 2 close friends of mine recommended it then I decided to try it. First of all this is downtown so I think the decor was nice and a true representation of a historical building. This is great place to have a nice quiet dinner so if you are looking for a place with loud music and and a party atmosphere then this is not the right place for you. When it comes to the menu there were very good options for main dishes and appetizers. I decided to go with the 16oz ribeye and I have to say that it was very tasty and tender, there were over 10 different types of sides offered including 2 types or risottos, 2 types of mashed potatoes and different types of veggies, it was great. My friend ordered the fig salmon and according to him it was also great ! We ordered an spinach artichoke dip for the table and it was delicious . We moved here from another state. Every visitor we have, we take to Crawfords. My boyfriend gets the burger every single time and says it's the best burger he has ever had. I always get the steak and it is great! We are moving soon out of state and we both agree Crawfords will be our last meal in South Dakota and we would come back to visit just for Crawfords. Our table ordered ribeyes, filet, and pork shank. After tasting each other's meals... everything we ordered was fantastic! The big surprise was the apricot pork shanks...so tender and the glaze was amazing. The steaks were cooked just as ordered. The Bourdon mashed potatoes were the best ever...I gotta try to remake them at home! The sticky toffee cake for dessert was great, but the chocolate peanut butter cake was even better! They were very accommodating not our party of 7 (including 3 kids)! Natasha was a wonderful waitress, very attentive! The manager stopped by at the end of our meal (which is always appreciated) to check on us and make sure we were happy. Saturday Feb 26, 2023, I had a first date there with a man I had never met before. I informed our delightful waitress, Macy, we met prior online. I also read the reviews prior and they said to make reservations. I did that too. Macy made the date relaxing and fun. We ordered the $15 spinach and artichoke hot dip with crackers, cucumber slices and carrots. We enjoyed the dip but there wasn't much of it.. My date ordered the walleye with mashed potatoes and asparagus. He received broccoli instead and was slightly disappointed. He also ordered a glass of wine. I enjoyed a lavender lemon drop cocktail. It was delicious. I have some dietary issues so I ordered an enhancement of 5 shrimp on a skewer. The cocktail sauce was brought out as I asked so it was a small wait to receive it. Overall, I gave Crawford's 4 stars. I would highly make a reservation and not to order an overly expensive appetizer. We were there about 45 minutes but it was a nice date. The steak was really tough and had gristle through out. For what you pay for here you can get better food at other much more inexpensive restaurants. Most likely will not go back again. We got a reservation around 5:30p (y'all eat early in this town) we were greeted with an antique speakeasy type of feel. The light fixtures and mirrors are amazing to look at. Dark wood bar, intimate tables it felt extremely decadent. The Sea Bass was one to write home about. Super succulent and juicy. The reviews seem to be mixed but I did not have a good experience here food-wise. I ordered the Gouda mushroom pizza and it was burnt. The crust also didn't seem homemade to me. My co-worker's chicken was also burnt. The only person in my party who liked their food was my co-worker who ordered the mussels (although I must add there were at least 5 duds in the mix). My co-worker ordered a whisky and they charged him $6 for the drink and $2 for the rocks. $2 for the rocks!?!?! What the heck is that? Never in my life... The service was alright and atmosphere was pretty cool/trendy. The food is overpriced for the quality you're getting. Our reservation was at 7:15, table for 4, and we didn't get our entrees until 8:35(no appetizers,no excuses for why things took so long) Then the food was disappointing... lukewarm and steaks were over-cooked.
