I recently required the services of Crays Cooling Company.. I have a floor furnace that's at least 30 years old but still works beautifully.. I had a couple of questions about the size of the flame in the burner and suspicious looking marks on the pipe that exits through my roof. I made an appointment and Mike the owner and his helper Stewart appeared at my house within a day... he came in looked at my burner and said everything looked fine.. the flame... the size of the flame ..he said he saw no worries.... then he said where are these markings that are coming out of your pipe?... so we went outside and I pointed up and I said it's all that ....what's going on with that?.. I had read that if you see any markings on your pipe that it could be a backup that could cause carbon monoxide to enter your home... so I was afraid to use my heater... they both looked up and with straight faces both of them said it's bird shit.. ...we all started laughing ... we found there were no concerns at all. He did find a small section in my garage that connected to the box that was built around the burner did look rusty and falling apart so we made an appointment ...he showed up and started creating from a piece of sheet metal a connector box and piping.. he connected everything and my heater is working wonderfully!. He's very knowledgeable, reasonable rates, and just a really nice guy I will be going back to them if I have any issues.. Here l go reviewing again 2 1/2 years later. Still the best around. Called on a Sunday because furnace stopped working at daughters mobile. Mike Cray was there in less then an hour. Needed a small part which Mike ordered and the day it came in Mike was there to install. Also want to share that my neighbors heating system stopped working. We called Cray's Cooling for a leaky unit. Mike diagnosed the issue as a damaged condensation line but his work was haphazard, only repairing part of the line. The next day we noticed there was leak coming from a different area and called to have him come back but we never got a call back after leaving multiple messages. It was disappointing. Michael and Jessica are amazing! I was thoroughly impressed with their level of customer service, integrity, and commitment to quality. We had been misdirected by PG&E as to what the issue was with our heating system, so when we replaced the wrong thing on our furnace, Michael came back to fix it at no extra charge. Michael is extremely hard working and makes sure you know what's going on the whole time. He patiently explained everything to us, showed us the faulty circuit-board, and explained how the gas valve was supposed to work. He even offered discounts on air-filters and gave tips for recommended maintenance. I greatly appreciated his flexibility on hours and was happy to work with Jessica on scheduling and billing. Fixing a furnace is not cheap, but Cray's was definitely far more affordable than anyone else and they did a really great job. Thanks for making my house livable again! read more

Where to start? Lets see we refer you to a few friends for work which pans out for you as yes we though you had our best interests in mind but clearly that's not the case. We tried mulitple times to scheudle a visit as our A/C stopped working. After no call back becuase being busy (totally understand) we had to resort to other measures. Being a BMW master techntian myself I watched the unit to notice that the fan was laboring and popping the fuses. I then recreated the environment for the same fan issue to then find out i could simply give it a nudge it would free up an work that is until it turned off then it would bind. I replaced the fan assembly with the help of a parts house who matched up my dead fan assembly with its replacement. I then install the replacement fan with no issues but still having other issues with the unit. Finally Crays Cooling is able to come out and the "first words out of his mouth were about how we went somewhere else to get the fan assembly" which we kindly responded about how we have tried multiple times to give him the first opportunity to repair it for us but was too busy. He tightened a few things and said it was fixed, handed us a service bill and less than A HALF HOUR LATER THE UNIT STOPPED WORKING AGAIN! AFTER MULTIPLE UN-RETURNED CALLS THAT SAME DAY (5-6) TO CRAYS COOLING ITS WAS VERY CLEAR THAT HE COULD GIVE A RATS ASS ABOUT OUR PROBLEM EVEN AFTER GIVING HIM THE OPPORTUNITY TO FIX WHAT EVER HE FELT WAS NEEDED. YA SURE CASHED OUR CHECK THOUGH DIDN'T YA! BRAVO AND GOODBYE! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND CALL ANYONE ELSE! read more

Long story....I blew up my AC trying to remove the PG&E monitor that "saves" electricity during high usage. Well turns out I also fried my furnace. I tried to fix it myself, replaced the transformer, the ignitor, the ignition system, and more parts...Got it going half assed, but the burners only three out of four were lit. Called Crays for an estimate to replace my system as I gave up on my 35 plus year old furnace. He showed up, and I explained what I have done, and he spent a few minutes checking my furnace and adjusted my main fan thermostat and got my system back working! But sadly my furnace core is cracked and dangerous to use. He showed me exactly the issue, warned me not to use it because it is leeching carbon monoxide in the house, thankfully Cray's went above and beyond giving me a quote. Called up Mike this past Thursday in the evening taking a chance on seeing if he works on water heaters. Come to find out he does and he came through in the clutch, he was just getting home and he did not have to but he did, he came over within 20-25 minutes of talking with him and he switched out and replaced my thermocouple. On top of the service Mike takes the time to give you information on the work he is doing and gives you very helpful knowledge on work and products. Mike Crays was referred to me by my trusted electrician Tracy Inouye. Mike gave me a quote sometime ~Nov 2013. He noticed that the extra air filter we had was the wrong size and changed it free of charge. I got one other quote when I noticed Costco was having an AC "sale" and it was WAY higher! Late April 2014 we decided we needed to get that AC in b/f he heatwave, so I called up Mike. He came back the next day and I showed him some other work that was suppose to be done by what turned out to be an incompetent swindling handyman (don't hire Yoshi Ando, he will take your money and disappear), and after pointing out what a terrible job the guy was doing, he offered to fix it for the cost of the materials! He also changed out my refrigerator water line and re-connected it to a cold water line (b/c it was hooked up to hot water). And he did it for a very reasonable price.
