My husband had fried catfish/shrimp with fries and a salad. I had the baby boil #1 with the Rajin Cajun sauce. I didn't like the sauce, it was basically regular hot sauce extremely watered down. I should have gotten the other sauce. The snow crab and crawfish were cooked nicely and my husband's margarita was mid but he finished it. Love this place and what it stands for! The only time I have ever been here was a private event that the restaurant closed to regular public for our party. They have done several special events for the Grand Prairie Police Dept and in this day its nice to see people who still back the blue. The food was really good, the hushpuppies especially were my favorite! They have a great bar area and plenty of TV's to watch a game on. This restaurant is right off the 360 north bound service road and is very easy to get too. Plenty of parking in the parking lot. I went with 3 friends on a Saturday afternoon.  The service was great even during the current pandemic situation.  No one was seated anywhere near us and all the staff were wearing masks.   We ordered fried pickles and bacon wrapped shrimp for appetizers and both were excellent! The batter on the pickles was light and didnt overwelm the pickles.  The bacon wrapped shrimp was good but honestly it was the cajun mayo they served with it that brought it all together.   I had the jambalaya pasta as my entree with a side of hushpuppies (I'm a hushpuppy addict).  Both were really good.  The pasta had a nice little kick with big shrimp, chicken and sausage.  The only drawback with the portion is that the shrimp was cooked just a tad too long and was king of rubbery.  Not horribly though.  I still loved the dish.  The portion was really large too.  The hushpuppies......oh my goodness.  They were so dang good.  I didnt want to share with my friends lol I really enjoyed the lunch and I believe my friends did as well.   We had 5 beers, 2 appetizers, 4 entrees and 1 additional side and our bill was a little less then $100 which is not bad at all, especially considering the portion size and one was a boil. The staff was super nice and friendly.   We'll definitely be going back. It took about 15 minutes for the drinks to come to our table...disappointing. While my drink was tasty, it really seemed like I was just drinking $9 Kool-aid...I coulda bought a mega pack of Kool-aid for $9 if that's what I wanted. Meh. I also ordered the fried jalapeños and wasn't impressed. The batter was inconsistent and some of the jalapeños were not even battered at all! $5 down the drain. I have to be honest.. I really wanted crab legs and this satisfied that craving but it was jut "ok". We started with the fried pickles and gator bites. The pickles were really good and the gator was ok. I had crab legs and shrimp with sausage and corn in a garlic butter boil. There was not a lot of flavor and they forgot my corn. It was brought out separately but that messed it up for me . The shrimp were a bit over done because the shell really stuck to them. Sauce: Had the crazy sauce x-spicy (their combo sauce). Was my favorite in terms of sauce thickness (thickest sauce I've had in the area) The extra spicy was a good level, not overly spicy or enough to burn your hands without gloves but enough to get a slight kick after eating a bunch of food. Seafood: Loved how well the seafood was cooked. Only thing I didn't like was the sauce was a little sweeter than I would have liked. But after it soaked for a while in bottom the food didn't taste as sweet and was more of the cajun flavor. Got the baby boil with crab and shrimp and sausage, added extra corn and potatoes. Crazee Crab is my mom's favorite restaurant, I'm convinced. If she ever says she wants to take me out to eat, this is where we end up. Since my initial visit a couple of years ago, they have had a few changes in terms of the layout of the restaurant and they have added some items to the menu. I'm still a major fan of the po boy and the lychee martini. I highly recommend both of them, along with the fried jalapeños. The happy hour prices here are fantastic and you won't have to fight for a seat at the bar. At Crazee Crab happy hour prices for food and drinks are valid anywhere you are seated. We were seated right away, they had a big drink menu and had exactly the cocktail my friend wanted, I got a raspberry tea, that was pretty good. For appetizer we got Crab sliders, which I loved, crab mac and cheese, which was pretty good and snow crab tostados, which i also loved. I got shrimp and crawfish boil, extra spicy with crazee flavor. The bag was huge and all of it was very good. We had bread pudding for dessert, which I really liked and lemon drop shots I also enjoyed. My only complaint is the long waits for even simple things. For a place so close to my house, I'm pretty upset I've never been here before! This place has been through many changes throughout the years, and they recently had a re-grand opening! I'm certain Crazee Crab is here to stay! I came out today with my friend for a casual dinner and the moment we walked in we were kindly greeted and seated immediately. The menu was super overwhelming. There were so many options that I'm pretty sure you will not have trouble finding something you're in the mood for. For me, I went with the Baby Boil #2: 1lb crab, 1/2lb shrimp, 1/2 sausage. My friend ordered a pound of crawfish. The Get Crazee seasoning was really good! Comparable to Boiling Crab and on par with other local sauces! Was a little salty for me, but a couple squeezes of lemon quickly fixed that problem. I got it in "spicy", comparable to 3 out of 5 heat level. It leaves a little burn on your lips, but definitely bearable. My friend said the crawfish was ok since it's nearing the end of the season and her fried pickles were a little too vinegary. I don't really like pickles anyways so that didn't bother me LOL Our server, Donny, was very attentive and took care of us really well. He quickly refilled our drinks when needed, ran back and forth for my requests in a very timely manner, and always came back with a genuine smile. He's also very uplifting to his coworkers which was also nice to see. There was also another server, Lyna(?) that was very sweet as well. She was always coming to different tables (including ours) to make sure we were being treated well and if we needed anything else. Props for checking on tables that aren't even yours, girl! Service here can't be beat. Honestly, I regret not trying out the oysters and other items. Everything looked very appetizing as they were being brought out. Expect me to come back way more often! So glad I decided to try this place. It has a nice and friendly atmosphere. The restaurant is very clean and the restrooms are clean also. The staff is very knowledgeable about their menu, which is a plus. They have several choices. I went with the 6 piece wings for a starter. They were really good and seasoned very well. Got my entree I had the fried Pork chops with red beans and rice. Baby! This was the best dish I had since moving to DFW from Louisiana. The pork chips was seasoned to perfection and friend to a perfect crisp. The red beans and rice taste like it was right out of my mother's kitchen. Just a great taste and very consistent. I have eaten here (to go orders). several times and have never been disappointed. I always call in my Gumbo order then pick it up. Every person I've ever talked to there has been very polite, very helpful, and you can tell they always have a smile on their face when answering the phone. That's hard to find anywhere. They always have my order packed up and ready at the front when I arrive. Efficiency, kindness, and excellent customer service goes a long way. At times I think it even makes the food taste better. On to the food! I have to admit that I have only had the gumbo (many times) but would bet everything else is equally as good. The bowl of gumbo is a complete meal for me. It's always hot, always fresh, and the shrimp are always big and tasty. I will continue to call in my order, pick it up and have a quality meal for years to come. Came here for my birthday & we made it just in time before happy hour was over. We had maybe 35 minutes or so. We spent 34 of those minutes trying to get the bartenders attention. Not sure why on such a busy night there was only one bartender tending to an entirely FULL bar but at least we got our drinks before HH was over. We also only had one server for our incredibly large group. She was absolutely amazing & handled our table very well, but still. It had to be so much work & so stressful for one person. It's basically a mix all the seasonings and it's so good! My fiance is from Louisiana and the flavor has his approval! It has a great vibe for a date night! Really torn on how to rate this place. The service was fantastic. The bacon wrapped shrimp was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The oysters were fresh. The lychee martini is the bomb. The atmosphere was great. The Crawfish in the Po Boy was wonderfully fried, seasoned and plentiful. Then there is the Texas Red Fish. This fish was cooked so much it was like rubber. It was like they cooked it, put it under a warmer, cooked it some more, then cooked it even more. The flavor with the garlic and capers was fantastic.
