I stopped by here on my way to Lake Charles. I lived in Lafayette about 25 years ago and just love the the local fare. So whenever I get over that way I try to stop for some Cajun food. This place didn't disappoint. When I arrived it was raining and I pulled into the parking lot. I knew this pace would be good just by the size of the craters filled with water in the lot. The outside looks like a camp transplanted from Bayou Gauche. I ordered an Abita Turbo beer, 3 lbs boiled crawfish (spicy) and fried boudin balls. The wait was little long (2 beers) but when the food came out it was hot & tasty. The crawffish were just as ordered...SPICY!! They were cooked perfectly and the fried boudin ball were an added taste sensation. This place is not far off I-10 so if you're in the area and want good crawfish, try this place. read more

Well when you come to Beaux Bridge it is only natural to have crawfish! I ordered a poor boy and it was loaded with mud bugs! Of course it is served on the best French Bread ever! The atmosphere is laid back but the food is above average. The waitress Hanna was beautiful. This is a place that is definitely the local favorite. Some of the other places are tourist places, not this place. Definitely a great place! I will disappoint you, the waitress is leaving in a few weeks for college. So she will not be there when you get there. The pivots are loaded with shrimp and they serve po-mans gumbo (chicken and sausage) and seafood gumbo. Both of the gumbos had great flavor but is the consistency of soup or water. I prefer a thicker consistency, but every region in the state has their preferences. This was the third and last time stopping by here. First two times were good. This time all was going great. The red beans n rice taste good, bloody Mary good.... then we bit into the boudin. It was sour. Tried a second piece and sour. Mentioned to the waitress she said she would go check the date. She came back and just offered us a new order but we were ready to go. Plus the bad vinegar taste that was left in our mouth made us lose our appetite. When we got the check the vinegar flavored boudin was still on there. I really wanted to like this place. read more

I updated my review beacuse the new owner was kind & caring enough to call us about the problems we had. We stopped eating here because of the old management. Now that we heard its under new management, we gave it another try. And once again a great disappointment. We ordered to-go for dinner & had to wait longer then we said. Then no one checked our order so by the time we got home, items were missing. Beyond that, my grill platter was so greasy & sinking in grease. The burger was EXTRA DRY w/ a few strings of lettuce, missing cheese. I had to call twice to tell them we're missing items. And I guess its not a big deal to them. As a business owner, customer is number one priority. We might give it one more try and hope management gets better soon. read more

This Little restaurant is Located just off I-10 in Breaux Bridge, LA. Restaurant Review: We had the Onion pedals for Appetizer. They were very good. Soups (Gumbo and Potato/tasso) both had a layer grease floating on top ( a sign of chef not knowing how to properly make roux based soup) Potato/tasso soup tasted good but chunks of tasso were HUGE way larger than bite size. Grilled Chicken was also a tad greasy but flavorful. All of the fried food was excellent. Shrimp were HUGE and cook perfect. Crawfish tails were same..very good. Atmosphere also very nice. painted ceiling tiles, nice Cajun style decor etc... Over all We give this place a Thumbs up but they just need to work on their soups, also service was a tad slow. read more

Food is normally superior, but extremely poor taste, cold, and never will I order the oiled drench seafood gumbo with 5 frozen shrimps. The extra spicy crawfish had no taste or seasoning. I passed this place a few times during business trips and never gave it much thought. On a recent weekend trip to Avery island we decided to stop for a bite and a beer. Really glad we did. Staff was very friendly and service was great. They have ice cold andygators! We had some great bouillettes and shrimp. We bought some local mixed media art that was created by staff members. I stopped here on my way to Texas. It's a small mom and pop style restaurant. The waitresses are cool and friendly and they actually take pride in the signature dishes they prepare. I don't like this place because they do drugs. The workers are doing drugs, asking coworkers for drugs and where they can find them, there are drug deals going on in the parking lot. If I could give this place zero stars I would but there is no option. There are rats in the kitchen, not mice but big fat rats, there are cockroaches in the kitchen. AUTHENTIC CAJUN Breux Bridge is in the heart of Louisiana Cajun country, and this restaurant is a great example of the local cuisine. This place was so good on Thursday, we stopped again on our way back home Saturday. They have a great variety of food, drinks, and their staff is amazing. Going down, we had Red Beans and Rice, Gumbo, and Boudin; coming back we Oyster Po'boy, and Boiled Crawfish, and our friends had a Crawfish Sandwich, and Shrimp Salad. I had a fried shrimp po boy special. The sandwich looked cheap and very "fast-foody". The shrimp's taste was actually quite good, despite looking like typical grocery store frozen shrimp. The mayo was very light, which I prefer, but just a heads up if you like more mayo, there was one thin squiggle down the middle. The fries were better than average. While the place had a very tourist-friendly decor, I still got the feeling that it was mostly a locals joint, and felt somewhat out of place. read more

Ordered crawfish. They cook their crawfish in unseasoned water and then add to seasoned water. How long the crawfish spends in the seasoned water determines the spice level. The crawfish come out without spices on them and have been flavored by hot sauce in the water. I prefer my crawfish covered in spices. So I didn't enjoy this way of preparation. Wife got crawfish boil soup and agree with other reviews that it was very bland. Overall everything was okay - but not great. Found myself agreeing with other reviews that gave 1-3 stars. read more
