All while being pleasant to everyone around her. Okay on to the food. I love that they offer some healthy options from veggies to the cauliflower rice or quinoa. My go to wrap is pesto - love it. After our visit to the nearby Laumeier Sculpture Park, we were in search of a lunch that wouldn't feel too heavy, as we still had a full-ish day ahead of us. We had become familiar with CB&W years ago as a good place to go for healthful options, and were pleased to discover a franchise just a short distance from the park. We arrived just before noon, which turned out to be excellent timing because shortly after we placed our order, there was a steady flow of customers. This place apparently has its share of regulars, because we heard the fellow behind the counter greet several by name. In the years since our last visit, the menu has become more diversified, with vegan and low-carb options, and more flavors from which to choose. The ordering process is easy to understand; the only thing that will slow you down is deciding which permutation you would like. Today we enjoyed: Santa Fe salad with crunchy chicken - a good-size portion of crispy chicken nuggets on a bed of salad with chunks of avocado and tortilla chips, served with a tomato ranch dressing. I guess the deep-fried nature of the chicken detracts from the healthfulness of the dish, but it's okay to cheat a little. The greens were fresh and crisp. Teriyaki bowl with grilled chicken on brown rice - this was very delicious, though maybe just a little too much teriyaki sauce. Served with plenty of steamed vegetables that were done just right. Thai bowl with quinoa and tofu - this was my main dish and I loved it. As with the teriyaki bowl, it came with a lot of vegetables. There was quite a bit of quinoa as well. It probably could have used just a little more of the thai peanut sauce, but overall the flavor was really good. I was quite hungry going into lunch but wasn't able to finish the entire dish. Prices vary according to your choice of protein, but on average a bowl comes to about $12 - a very good price given the amount and quality of the food. Really nice staff and food is always great. The only reason I didn't give it 5 is because it does take quite a while to get your food even if you order ahead. It's a bit small and gets super busy especially around lunch so seating can be limited but it's a really nice casual place to grab lunch on your break and I really appreciate the service. read more

I'd never been here before but thought I'd try it out! When I entered, the space was totally empty but I could see some workers in the back through the pass window. I stared at the overhead menu trying to figure out what I wanted. There's a STL Bread Co right around the corner that was my first choice, so I was leaning towards a salad but nothing on this menu really appealed to me. I got settled on a Caesar Wrap with chicken. I was wondering why no one came to take my order then realized there's a terminal to punch in your order and self-pay. An employee that was passing through the front area did finally say hello to me, though. I sat down and my wrap arrived very quickly. My first impression was that my wrap was mostly rice and in order to get the slightest bit of protein in each bite, I had to open up the wrap and rearrange the ingredients. Annoying. It was a nice fat wrap (though mostly rice). The tomato tortilla could have been a regular tortilla. Flavor was meh. The Caesar wrap from Jimmy Johns is way better. The side tortilla chips were toasty hot but I was actually expecting and would have preferred potato chips. Only 2 other people came in during my meal. My meal was over $11. Went to this area with the intention of going to another food spot but decided to try this instead. I ordered the fajita bowl with grilled chicken and jasmine rice. It was really good for a quick meal to go! I also ordered a water and the guy told me to choose from all sizes of cups rather than giving me a tiny little water cup which I REALLY appreciated (one of my biggest pet peeves are those stupid water cups). Everyone was friendly and the order took a reasonable amount of time to complete. The bowl had lots of good flavor. I would've hoped for more chicken, and one piece was burnt but otherwise I was pleased. It lasted me two meals as well which is always a bonus. read more

I've been a fan of CBW since college days and I generally love their selection so when I found myself in the area and did not want to go home to fix myself some lunch, I decided to go in and order my usual (High protein bowl). First, this location is just not so well-thought out. Most CBWs I have been to are better-organized and more open as far as the floor plan goes. The flavor station in this location had a huge trash can parked right next to it with a very filty and sticky looking cover which looked to have not been cleaned since the 1980s. It was absolutely disgusting especially because it was right next to the food items. Second, the employees looked very unethusiastic. Like they seriously could not be bothered. I placed my order and the young man on the counter was clearly miserable the entire time. No greetings, no smiles, just pure misery oozing out. The food was delivered at a good time and another young man made the delivery to my table. He was a few levels better than the one at the counter. My food tasted the same but I was initially disgusted by the trash can situation that I pretty much lost my appetite. After all that, I will be hard-pressed to come back to this location. CBW is my jam and has been since they opened the one in Rock Hill when I was in high school. I could walk there and my best friend worked there. Since then there have been many more CBW locations added to the STL area. The Sunset Hills location is great, as are the other locations. This was very clean, had cool lighting and decor, and was very clean. The staff was super friendly. And the food was amazing, as usual. I'm a pesto wrap/bowl fanatic, which is probably the most unhealthy item on the menu. Everything else on the menu is uber healthy. I like ordering the bowls with tofu or salmon....So good! We will definitely be back to this location next time we decide to spend hours shopping Old Navy and Marshalls and need a healthy meal after all that shopping. read more

I visited on a Wednesday at 1:30. Only a few customers. I ordered the pesto bowl with brown rice and steak. And a Vitamin water, because they no longer serve caffeine-free, sugar free soda ( one the reasons I liked them). My order came out in about 7 minutes. Very well put together with just the right amount of sauce. The steak was grilled to perfection and veggies with just a little crunch- just the way I like them. The Vitamin water, however, was sweet, which I had not anticipated. So, the other star can be earned back when they offer at least one caffeine-free, sugar-free drink. I just wanted to recognize how AMAZING the Thursday night crew was this past Thursday (10/7). We had a slight emergency at work that day, and at last minute had to order food for 50 people. My supervisor sent me to the Sunset Hills location with a list of orders. The crew didn't miss a beat. They put in each order for all 50 orders and knocked it all out in 21 minutes! I can't tell you how grateful I am for the quickness of their work. Everyone was extremely pleased with their food, and that is hard to do with a large group and all of their dietary restrictions/likes/dislikes. So please thank the crew that was working that night. Bottom Line: Fresh Food, Inconsistent Dining Room Cleanliness, WiFi (if working) Overview: I come here fairly often. At least once per month. That said, I have had lunch rush, post-lunch, and dinner at this location. It is the most convenient CBW in town for me. I like it because they serve healthy food and the company is local. At least, I think it is. What does surprise me is the lack of Facebook/Twitter etc. communication outlets for a place like this. I mean, the people the come in here can be broken up into two categories based on gender. If you are a woman, you are most likely coming here because you are watching your figure and, if it is in the evening, you are picking something up after working out at the gym. If you are a man, you are probably an IT guy that does some sort of physical exercise outside of your job. Generalizations, but hang out at a CBW, and I think you will see I am right. Although, I think with A-B's IT department emptying out at a nearby building, there may be less IT guys coming here, but they still go here. (I feel like I have written the above before (about the women/men) in another CBW review. Oh well. It is true here too. Food: Note: One over arching complaint I have about CBW in general is the tortilla chips they serve. They have these brightly colored tortilla chips; I guess to make the food look more appealing. Well, I have a hunch that their customers would be just fine without the food coloring! They also have the "blue corn" tortilla chips that I think are also food colored. Annoying! Leave it natural, CBW! I usually oscillate between several items. Here they are: Red Beans and Rice: Simple, affordable. Nothing special here. It has a taste to my liking, and it is a nice dish that I think you can order in two sizes. I go with the larger of the two. That almost fills me up for an evening dinner. Mediterranean Wrap: Falafel, low fat hummus, lettuce, feta, tzatziki sauce, spinach tortilla. I think that says it all. The spinach tortilla wrap is unnecessary. A simple flour tortilla is fine. Would prefer straight-up hummus over low fat, but not a huge deal. Power Bowl: Romaine lettuce, beans, cheese, corn salsa. I usually order tofu to go with this one and opt for the quinoa grain. It is not the most appetizing dish, but is filling and it seems to be quite healthy. I usually get the sesame sauce to go with. Atmosphere: I think I have touched on the atmosphere a bit above, but I have to say based on my visits, the cleanliness of the dining room varies. I have also noticed that it is tied to one lady in particular. She seems like a nice lady, she also seems like one of those people who has settled in on a part-time job and doesn't intend to upgrade her vocation. I have also noticed that when she is there, the dining room is a mess; this is mostly post-lunch time/pre-dinner time (3-4pm). I usually call it out and ask to have my table wiped down, as there are NO other tables that are clean! That said, everything else *seems* to be OK food-wise (fingers crossed). WiFi: WiFi access has been spotty from time to time. A nuisance when you bring your laptop hoping to do some online work and find the connection dead. I have tried tapping into Panera's hotspot. Unfortunately, it is too weak on the times I have tried. Summary: I gave this place two stars because cleanliness is really a big deal for me. If you can't keep your dining room clean, I don't want to eat here. Unfortunately, given the small number of restaurants that serve these kinds of options in the county, I am kind of chained to this place. I must admit, there have only been two or three occasions I have come here with the dining room being atrocious. Otherwise, the place is decent. Also, bowls come in two sizes: small or regular. I find the small to be perfect for lunch. I try to watch my calories, so I get one of the healthiest things on the menu--the stir fry bowl. I'm pretty boring, so I get this every single time. I order it with brown rice, tofu (or sometimes chicken), and regular teriyaki sauce. This bowl also comes with mixed veggies (cabbage, kale, carrots, broccoli, red pepper, and zucchini), which add bright, vivid color to my bowl. The quality of the ingredients is great, and the bowl always tastes so fresh and delicious! The only negative thing I can say is that the bowls sometimes aren't consistent in terms of portion. Sometimes I'll get a ton of rice, and sometimes I'll get what I feel is the appropriate amount for the nutrition listed on their website. I am a Crazy Bowls veteran and a big fan of this place. I used to work in Ballwin near 141 on Manchester, so I used to go to the location out there constantly for lunch, as did my co-workers. It got to the point that we frequented the place so much that one time an overly excited employee started putting orders together for what he assumed we were going to order when we walked in. I very much recommend the teriyaki chicken superbowl with white rice, dark meat chicken, and spicy slaw. I will complain about inconsistent quantities of both meat and teriyaki sauce which is why I pay extra to get extra of both. I shouldn't have to do that, but whateva. I tried the salmon instead of chichen once and it sucks, so don't do that. I also recommend the power bowl with white rice and dark meat chicken. It comes with a side of tortilla chips which the staff frequently forgets to give you if you have a to go order, so watch for that. Try this... get the power bowl,cruch the chips in the bag, dump them in the power bowl, get two full cups of hiyashi sauce (or 3 if you be feelin saucy) from the sauce bar, dump the hiyashi sauce into your power bowl. If you have a to go container, put the lid back on and shake it up a bunch. Awesome mixture! If you have no to go lid just mix everything with your fork, but I tell you, that hiyashi sauce is under-utilized by Crazy Bowls guests, but its such a great flavor! As a Crazy Bowl veteran, It is highly advisable to follow my suggestion here. BBQ chicken wrap is awesome. I also LOVE the causer wrap. Here is another suggestion from a pro: Get a few cups of creamy buffalo sauce on the side from the sauce bar, it's a fairly unique and delicious sauce. This sauce, for whatever reason, goes PERFECT with the caeser wrap, so dump it on as need as you enjoy your wrap. I've gotten the pad thai bowl which is not too bad and somtimes I actually crave it, but honestly it is not even close to being authentic pad thai, and there are a bazillion places I'd rather go for pad thai in St. Louis. I also recommend their hummus, despite some inconcsistency with texture and flavor from time to time. Dip your tortilla in that stuff, it will grow on you! The sweet and sour chicken bowl is AWESOME. I love it! Huge breaded chunks of checken in a delicious sauce and a sweet and sour sauce that is quite different than what you expect from traditional chinese restaurants. read more

This particular location can NOT make a to go order to save their life. My wife ordered a grilled chicken caesar wrap with EXTRA caesar dressing on the side. They didn't even put the dressing on the wrap to begin with, instead just gave me a side of dressing. I believe there was rice that was suppose to be in it as well, but was missing. I ordered the sweet and sour bowl with crispy chicken, extra meat (crispy chicken) and a EXTRA side of the sweet and sour sauce. What I got was a sweet and sour bowl like I ordered but, the extra meat was dry grilled chicken with the sweet and sour sauce on the side no extra sauce. This isn't the first time they messed up my to go order. In fact everytime I went to get food on the go from that location, they forget something or make something I didn't order. I enjoy Crazy Bowls and Wraps but would recommend going to a different location other than this one or at least until some better management. read more
