I have heard such great things about this place, so I decided to stop in for a sweet treat on a Saturday afternoon while I was in the area! I was immediately greeted by the fantastic aroma of bread and baked goods. As you enter, there's a big shelf full of packaged soup mixes and cookie mixes available for purchase. I think they'd make such great gifts! I ended up getting a chocolate chip cookie to snack on later. It was the perfect treat! The kind employee who helped me with my cookie purchase asked if I had ever tried their bread. When I said no, he offered me some samples. I tried their cinnamon bread and cheddar bread. Both were incredible. The cinnamon bread tasted like dessert, and I will definitely be back to purchase a loaf. The cheddar bread was just as delicious, and I was blown away by the softness and freshness. The bread practically melts in your mouth! I would love to go back for lunch sometime to try their soup.

This is a delightful store with delicious loaves of bread, rolls, and a small selection of soups, granola, sandwiches and coffee. You can sit at one of the bistro tables inside or outside to enjoy your purchases. They offer samples of their wonderful white or seeded wheat bread, which helped when it came time for me to decide which bread to bring home. The girl behind the counter was both helpful and sweet. There was parking available right outside the front door, but there was a couple of steps to get in.

Stopped by this bakery while waiting to board the Amtrak. It's conveniently located across the street. It smelt delicious the moment I walked in. They have a variety of made to order breakfast items and a few grab-n-go. I opted for the powerbar and not disappointed one bit. If you're looking for a friendly face and a decent size granola bar made with whole grains, you've come to the right place. It's healthy and taste so good!

i stopped in at 1, to this bakery today and was so pleasantly impressed. the space is organized, very clean, and had lots of seating. to go items were professionally wrapped and labeled. fresh bread was displayed on a lovely rack. there is a menu of breakfast and lunch items- the sandwiches are reasonably priced and sound very tasty! there was one person working the counter and another there to make sandwiches. what a pleasant, neighborhood, spot!

Love that I get a sample every time we go! The bread is delicious! I always get my staple cinnamon chip bread. That's my favorite. Still need to try lunch but I'm loving all the bread. I got garlic cheddar bread and mocha biscotti to try and will update once I've tasted. Everyone is always nice when we go in too. Trust me, try the bread! I bake bread for my family all the time but I will still go get their bread too!

Okay I see Great Harvest already has high marks on yelp, but I still feel the need to share my experience here today. I needed some afternoon coffee and the nearby coffee shop was closed, so I came here on a whim. I felt welcomed immediately with offers of bread samples. They have such a large selection of breads, scones, cookies, and also banana breads and biscotti were available. I was in heaven. The cashier who helped me was so sweet, patient, and considerate. The service was truly excellent. I didn't feel like I walked into a bakery business, i felt like I walked into grandma's kitchen. I can see this place get busy on a weekend morning but for a week day afternoon, business is steady and still have plenty of seats.

Cinnamon swirl loaf. Deeelicious and buttery

I ordered online and did curbside pickup and it was super convenient. The cinnamon swirl bread was huge, fluffy, sweet, and delicious for days after I picked it up. I sliced and toasted it for an amazing breakfast. And post-dinner snack. And before-bed dessert. I also picked up a turkey bacon club avocado sandwich (8.95). It had lots of turkey which I appreciated, but next time I'll try adding mayo or mustard to make it a little less dry. It doesn't come with any sides. The pastries are probably what will bring me back for another visit. The take-home cinnamon rolls look very enticing!

Stopped in here to get a breakfast sandwich before waiting for my Amtrak to get here. This place is perfectly located in downtown Kirkwood with many surrounding shops to check out. You get the immediately yeast smell when you walk in and know fresh bread is being made. They make their bread fresh daily. The cashier wasn't very pleasant but everyone else was very nice I ordered the classic sandwich which unfortunately wasn't impressive. It's small, the bread was greasy which ruined the fresh bread I was washer for. Not sure if they added butter or if it was from the eggs and bacon. Personally, I think you are better off ordering the bread and making your own sandwich at home.

There are plenty of breakfast and biscuit spots in this city. Don't spend your money here. I have been eating here for a long time and recently had a terrible experience on weds, Jan 28. It was my girlfriend's birthday and we chose to come here to start the day. It got a little busy after we came in , but asked for water and the jug never got filled. That's not even my complaint. Just a nod to the laziness. The staff seemed to come in and spread out everywhere at a table in the small indoor eating area. No big deal, but a little messy. There was no music playing and my gf said in normal conversation to me that there was no music and the vibe was off and that they probably focus on the patio being the vibe (which was covered in a foot of snow)...to which the man at the counter proceeded to ask us how things were and wrap it up with snarkily telling us we were welcome to outside. It was gross to talk to customers like that, and I am sorry that the ego of the employee caused them to interject themselves into a conversation that wasn't rude or loud or had anything to do with them. In my 20 years in the industry I would definitely not support my staff practicing such crappy service. And it really embarrassed us publicly in a quiet restaurant for no reason. Again. Please spend your money at another local business with mature and respectful service. *edit: after reading another recent review about poor service to a family of black people, I wanted to note in my review that my gf is also biracial...

We've generally had good experiences there, a few that were so-so, but tonight was awful! The sign out front reads "see hostess inside for patio seating, so we made our way to the hostess stand. I asked the young lady that greeted us if we needed to be seated for the chairs along the railing, or just tables? I was told "just the tables, other chairs are open seating". Then I asked to confirm that there were servers for the chairs on the railing, to which she replied "yes, but only for drinks and apps". Perfect - that's what we wanted. We proceeded to sit at two bar stools along the railing in front of the stage, and waited to be served. And waited. And waited. And waited. No one ever acknowledged that we were there, much less took our order. The waitress serving the three tables next to us visited them repeatedly, but never so much as made eye contact with us. After about 20 minutes, I walked back to the hostess stand and asked "do you know who is supposed to be our server? We've been there 20 minutes, and no one has helped us." The hostess said she'd check into it, and I went back to my seat. Over the next 15 minutes, the same server visited the three tables near us, but never acknowledged us. Then, another server waited on a lady sitting at the fir pit. I'd hoped that maybe she was going to help us, but she took the one order and walked back inside. WE WALKED OUT! Like I said, once loved the place. Not sure if they can't keep good staff, or if their success at the location has left them feeling like they no longer need to try, but the place has definitely lost the magic it once had.
