They are so tender, perfectly seasoned, and full of flavor every single time. You can really taste the love and authenticity in the food. So if you're a picture person... I don't think my pictures will do this place justice. The restaurant is super cute: vibrant colors, clean, decor, and super friendly staff. BUT -- they sell the equivalent of street vendor tacos. Don't get me wrong... Their tacos are very good. But, they don't particularly look good. I ordered three tacos (hint... Taco Tuesday gives you a free taco when you buy two tacos). They have tons of different flavors, ranging from good old-fashioned pork, sausage, chicken, beef, even fish or shrimp, and most surprisingly even tongue if you're into that. The food is flavorful and reasonably priced. When you see how small a street taco is and you know you paid four dollars for it... That stings a little bit. I guess that's the standard price these days. So the moral of the story... Good food, great location, reasonable prices. read more

We frequented this location often when we lived in South Tampa and it was so dang consistent! Every single time, the tacos tasted the same, the agua fresca was always delicious (get the FRESA!!!! You won't be disappointed), the churros are KILLER, the guac is so fresh and delicious, the rice and beans hit EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. We love a traditional (chorizo) street taco with just cilantro, onion, lime, and salsa and Loli's has been our favorite we've found in the area. Their salsas are so dang good and if you eat in house they have a variety to try which I still have yet to do. A little sad about it, honestly, because the salsas that come with the tacos are bangin! I've been going to Loli's on Gandy for the last couple years whenever I come into town. Lately, the prices have been going up and the quality has been going down. The ambiance is still bare minimum and not upgraded to go with current pricing. With the new higher pricing they have inserted a kiosk for your to place your own order. New higher pricing equals lesser service. Interesting?? I did request someone to take my order was they were barely trained and didn't offer any suggestions, such as "do you want chips with your Queso?", so I got home with the Queso and didn't have any chips??? Never had to ask in a Mexican restaurant for chips with my Queso before. It would have been nice to know you need to pay extra and request the chips!! One of our all-time favorite taco spots is this place! I've always loved the pastor tacos, but now they've added quesabirria and queso to the menu, making it even better. Even though we don't dine in often, it's still one of our top spots because it's so conveniently located when driving from St. Pete to Tampa. We order ToGo monthly if not more. I tried the chicken bowl. In my opinion, one of the worst bowls I've ever had. The rice and beans were overcooked and water logged. The whole thing tasted bland with no seasonings. The service was friendly and they were patient, since it was our first time we were trying to see which would be the best option, which took some time. I was hungry so I was looking for a good portion of food. $3.50 a taco seems a bit too high a price for a single taco. So I went with a carne asada bowl. I actually really liked my bowl. It was flavorful and very well balanced with protein and rice. However I can't help compare the price and quantity with Chipotle. I don't quite understand the hoopla surrounding Lolis, the tacos were ok. I am being generous giving it 3 stars. We went to the location on gandy blvd, right next to Rouen Thai. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. Enough parking available. So why 3 stars: taco shells were hard, i prefer softer. There was really no flavor with fish or ribeye taco. We ordered to go and I was impressed by the price for the amount of food! Wow! Everything was so good too! The guacamole is outstanding! So fresh! Taco Pastor: so good! It was hard to eat because it was stuffed full. My only recommendation would be to add a little more pineapple. Sopa Ribeye: this was huge. I did add chicken too. Lol I was in the mood to try a lot of different items. I couldn't even eat half of this. It was really good! Chicken and pork tamales: the chicken is in a green sauce and it has some heat. Really good! The pork is in a red sauce and mild. Both were delicious and totally different! My boyfriend got a carnitas torta and he thought it was delicious. Big sandwich. We got sides of beans, esquite, guacamole and chips. The esquite was delicious. It's the only menu item that seems a bit high in cost to me. 4$4.99 for a smaller cup. It is really good though! It will be hard for me not to order it. Lol The beans were good too. I really like how many options you have for ingredients to add at no extra charge and you can really customize each dish! I loveee the fish tacos here! I would say it's the best fish tacos in Tampa. A hefty piece of fried fish topped with cabbage, tomatoes and avocado. I live for these small touches The tacos come with salsa verde and salsa roja. I finally decided to try Loli's on Tuesday. The location I went to is in South Tampa. It's very nice & clean inside. The menu is on the wall. I put my order in, sat back & watch TV. It probably took at least 10-15 minutes for takeout. I ordered the chicken quesadilla and aqua de Jamaica. With my order, I received a red sauce, green sauce & pico de gallo. I did not care for the green sauce & pico de gallo has avocado in it. I don't like avocados. The chicken quesadilla was very good & tasty with lettuce & red sauce. I'd come back for the fish tacos. Lolis does good fish tacos. The fish was perfectly fried (as any good Baja styled fish taco should be) and a generous serving to boot. The cabbage and salsa fresca were very refreshing. The rest of the menu, I can live without. I tried their al pastor, carnitas and lengua tacos today. Everything was fine but not great. The al pastor was not spicy enough, unless you drowned it in the red salsa. The carnitas was not crunch. The lengua was underseasoned. I had the strawberry agua fresca. It was syrup-y sweet. Definitely wait until the ice melts and/or dilute with extra water. Service is fast. They move their line well. There are better places for tacos in Tampa, but Lolis on Gandy is close by and has air conditioning and indoor seating. read more

Just as good As I remembered it!! The first time i ever had Lolis was at the town and country location which is about 30 mins away from my house. I am so glad it has finally made its way to south Tampa! The menu is not as extensive as it's home base location but still just as yummy!! This location is on Gandy next to Rouen thai where daily grind use to be. Lots of parking and opened almost all day!! I often found myself trekking to Lolis on Benjamin Road for tacos and tamales. The journey was always worth it, especially if the tamales hadn't sold out. It also made my taste buds very happy to watch my tortillas made fresh on Loli's small griddle. So I was thrilled when a Gandy Boulevard location was announced. The new Loli's is just as good as the original...even better because it is larger and closer. It operates like a fast service restaurant where you order at the counter and then take your food to go or grab a table if you are eating in. We are big fans of the tacos... fresh tortillas with ribeye, chicken or pork.. with onions and cilantro. The red salsa is delicious with a nice kick. It makes the perfect addition to every bite. I prefer the green salsa on the pork tacos though.. it has just the right amount of tartness. The tamales are phenomenal. Soft savory-sweet cornmeal filled with chicken, beef or peppers. Never too dry.. never too heavy. They are perfect. We watched a group of women make the tamales in the kitchen. It was impressive. This place sells a lot of tamales. My girls are big into horchata so we ordered a large one from Loli's. It is huge.. bigger than a Big Gulp. My girls split it between the two cups provided by Loli's. It was very sweet..(too sweet for me).. and the girls recommended Loli's add cinnamon sticks to it but thought it was very good. Loli's brings authentic tacos, sopes, tortas and tamales to South Tampa. Definitely worth the stop! read more
