Came here for a quick drink and a slice of pizza on Thanksgiving. You order at the counter and the make your drinks at the bar. I will say everyone seems fairly grumpy that worked there but I can't blame them as it was a holiday and fairly slow. The pizza was perfect to hold us over until dinner. By the time we finished up our pizza it was crazy crowded. Over 30 people had randomly walked in. I appreciate the fact that they were open on the holiday. Plenty of seating for large groups and a few games you can play. Also love the notes to the women in the bathrooms. Glad to see safety is still a priority. Overall, 4/5 stars!

Me scarfing down my cheese pizza

The Cheese pizza was sooooooo yummy and good. The staff is so nice, friendly, and helpful. The vibe is so cool and out of this world. We are here on vacation and this restaurant makes me want to come back here so many times

$18. Slices are 1/4 of the whole pie for $5. Save $2 if you order a whole pie.

The pizza is pretty good. It's a solid choice, but nothing I'd not be able to live without. What I liked most was that they sell slices (1/4 of a large pizza--so big!) for $5 and it's one of the more reasonably-priced lunch options for kids that they'll actually eat. They had cheese slices, pepperoni, veggie, and combo when I was there. Lines can get long at lunchtime, but the location can't be beat with a view of the gondola and lift right out the back of the restaurant. Would return for an $18 large cheese or some $5 slices. In fact, we did. My kids had it for lunch and dinner. #cheapdates

Here's The Villagers Ski Club, well satisfied after eating at Crazy Elks!

We had a ski club party at Crazy Elks in Telluride this week and it was awesome!!! I had a group of 34 skiers and the General Manager (Jacob Linn) went way out of his way to accommodate both our eating and drinking needs, offering me multiple ideas to deal with the group and our budget. Our club ski trips always start with a Pizza Party after we arrive and in all seriousness, this was the best one I've been to! What you also really need to know was that we had a full assortment of pizzas and salads - and everyone agreed that these were excellent in every respect (I personally liked the Csrnovore). We all gave Jacob and his team a rousing round of applause at the end!! Speaking of his Team - Danny led the staff in getting our drinks, bringing out the food, cleaning away dishes throughout the meal (getting us clean plates while going up for seconds), etc. Again, this was my 4th ski trip I've led and by far the best pizza and service I've ever gotten. So thanks to Jacob, Danny, the staff and a shout out to Lisa Morgan who turned me in to this restaurant

Great choice if you're looking for a quick bit to eat in Mountain Village. Pizza sold by the slice and by the pies.

It's also right next to the lawn where outdoor concerts are held, which adds a nice atmosphere. There's also a ton of staff, they're always nearby for everything and anything you need. I did think it was a little odd that drinks were served in red solo cups, which took away from the overall dining vibe. We started with the burrata - it was decent, nothing particularly memorable. Wasn't the best, wasn't the worst. For my entrée, I ordered the mushroom pasta. It was okay, but I personally would have liked more depth of mushroom flavor. For dessert, we tried the tiramisu, which was tasty but extremely pricey for the portion size. While I enjoyed parts of the meal, the value wasn't quite there for me. I may come back in the future, but I'm not rushing back anytime soon.

Alpino Vino: Even More Heavenly Than Lunch…read more I had lunch at this heavenly high altitude delicious mountain ski-in restaurant 4 out of 5 days. The fixed prix dinner feast was even more heavenly despite having imbibed 4 margaritas before the 5:45 pm arrival; and I drink very little if any daily. This very special experience starts when you are picked up by the gondola at Mountain Village by a decked out snow track. The relatively smooth ride up takes about 20 minutes - just enough time to get acquainted with the other about ten guests who were extremely nice and interesting. The food with wine pairings for each course was delicious and the service impeccable. The ride down seemed shorter. Due to the 9 glasses of cocktails and wine, my trip back to the right room was a little shaky. But this incredible culinary experience made the expected hangover worth it. I hope to be back next year, this time having learned my lesson.

I couldn't jump back on the lifts fast enough to head back up and check it out. It was a little before noon and the hostess said everything was booked for the day but she could put us in the list for a 2:00pm inside table should something open up. I asked about outside and she said no chance, it was already booked and everyone shows up so inside was our only choice. Five minutes later, my friend came down the hill not realizing I had already been there and asked about 2:00pm seating outside and she told him it was booked but people no show all the time so just be there before 2:00 and chances were she could seat him. Hmmmm. Anyhow, we show up for 2:00pm seating and asked about an outside table and she said it was all booked but could sit us inside. We were brought inside to a nice table by the window. The restaurant was empty except for 1 person at the fireside table and a table of 4 that were on the way out. Inside was decorated very cute, rustic. Each chair had a nice blanket available if needed. Our server Marissa was very nice and prompt. Marissa asked us if we wanted still or sparkling water, we asked for still. We looked at the wines by the glass menu and ordered two glasses of the sparkling Rose Pinot Noir. $24. This was actually delicious. We decided to split the Alpino Vino Signature Grilled Cheese Sandwich with the Organic Tomato Gorgonzola Soup. $32. We also ordered an extra tomato soup since we split the sandwich. The grill cheese sandwich was lacking cheese but had plenty of pesto, arugula and tomato. The tomato soup was served cold and no taste of the Gorgonzola. A big dash of oil on top. The food was a definite miss. When the bill arrived, we also noticed a $10 charge for the still water. Had we been informed we would be charged for still water we wouldn't have ordered it. We had our own with us if we had known. The water price is not stated on the menu. There is also a 5% culinary service charge added to all checks and $6 to split the sandwich. This is notated in the bottom of the menu. So, while it is a cool location and beautiful views if you are privileged enough to sit outside, the food was a definite miss and the extra charges were petty. I will say we saw the charcuterie board pass by and it looked delicious. Marissa was nice but could have informed us of the $10 for a couple of glasses of water. Go for the views and a glass of vino or bubbles if you can sit outside.

Either the reviews have been gamed or this restaurant has fallen off a cliff in the past couple of weeks. We had very high expectations and on OpenTable it showed two seatings . We chose the earlier seating because we understand that a tasting meal is spread out over a long period of time. It turns out the early seating must be something new for them and we seated on a patio all by ourselves. In retrospect, I should've spent more time on their website. The website only list the later seating which is why I am sure they are trying something new with the 5:30 PM seating. As I said, we were seated on a patio that was not particularly well kept. I had a view of a ladder and an exhaust fan. The rest of the furniture was pretty haphazardly arranged. Some of the plants were almost dead, and there was a lot of plant debris in the corners. This is something a good sweeping would've taken care of. The first three courses came out extremely quickly and it became obvious that they wanted us out by 7 PM. The 7 PM seating starts with a glass of wine on the patio and then the diners are invited inside for their meal. So as we were completing our meal guests had started to wander out on the patio to have their cocktail. The whole thing was really uncomfortable. The service and the wine pairing were good if not, a little rushed. The wine pairing was extremely well priced and he really knew his wine. It was a high point. At a restaurant at this price point one would expect fine stemware changing with each type of wine, but that was not the case here. The stemware was thick, stemmed and heavy, the type you would expect at a casual dining restaurant like Applebee's. We have dined at Michelin star restaurants and I know many reviews compare this restaurant with other Michelin star restaurants. I find this a bit unbelievable. The food had a couple of moments of brilliance, but the rest was simply average. We feel for the price, there are much better choices Telluride.

The inside of the restaurant is warm and cozy. The outside has beautiful fire pit seating. We sat inside. Our server Reka was professional and attentive. He always had a smile on his face and even offered to take our photo when I pulled out my phone. The table was beautifully appointed. Every item we ordered was delicious. We started with the Cheddar Biscuits- grilled benton's bacon, pimento cheese, pickled onion. Very tasty. I ordered the king trumpet pasta and added chicken. The chicken was tender and the pasta dish had good flavor. My husband ordered the salmon with Risotto. He orders salmon quite often and said this was one of the best salmon dishes he has ever eaten. Our friends ordered the shorts ribs as well as a salad and added chicken. Both really enjoyed their meals. I would say they could have done a better job with the martini.
