We stopped by Road Hawg BBQ on a Wednesday around 5 PM, and it ended up being a really smooth,…read morefamily-friendly dinner experience. Parking was easy, with spots right up front and no meters to worry about, which is always a win when getting kids in and out. The restaurant itself had a relaxed, welcoming feel. Inside, there was a mix of seating options including booths, half-booth tables, and standard tables, plus high chairs available for younger kids. One thing I appreciated was that the bathroom was very clean and surprisingly spacious. When you order, they give you buzzers for your food, and the staff was incredibly kind about it. My kids all wanted a buzzer too, and the employees happily gave them one, which honestly made their night. Small interactions like that really stand out to me when visiting places as a mom. One thing to know before you go: they do not have a soda fountain machine. Drinks are bottled or prepackaged options including Coke, Coke Zero, Diet Coke, Sprite, Barq's Root Beer, Gold Peak Tea, and water. Complimentary water is available as well. They also accept both cash and card. What We Ordered I ordered the BBQ Sampler which included: 1/3 rack of ribs 1/2 lb pulled pork 1/2 lb beef brisket 4 wings 2 sides (I doubled up on fries) Rolls included I also grabbed a bottled Coke. The food came out quickly, definitely no more than about 15 minutes from ordering to table, which was impressive for dinner time. Food Thoughts The fries were honestly one of my favorite parts. They were super crisp and fresh. The wings were good, and I tried one of their newer sauces, a chipotle-style sauce. It personally was not my favorite because it had a much stronger Dijon flavor than I expected, but if you enjoy bold mustard-forward BBQ flavors, you may like it. They also had multiple sauce options available including: Sweet Sauce Mild Sauce Hot Sauce The pulled pork was solid, but the beef brisket really stood out to me. It had great flavor and was probably my favorite meat from the sampler. The ribs were also good, especially paired with their regular barbecue sauce. Things to Know Before You Go Parking is directly out front A few stairs are required to enter High chairs available Family-friendly atmosphere Clean restroom Fast service TV inside Merchandise available for purchase Cash and card accepted

The cashier was very nice. The only issue we Had was because it was the first time and we didn't know when we'd be back again because we don't live in the area the last time we were in PA was a year ago. I wanted to add brisket to the Diablo bowl along with chicken and they couldn't figure it out, manager came over there. They didn't know how to ring it up and so me and my partner just decided he would try one. I would try one. He did want to try something else, but we just made that compromise I think in the future for them they would make more money if they would offer adding sides of meat for people that wanna try two different kinds of meat in the bowls. But with that being said, the food was very very good and plenty. We were stuffed when we left and we both agreed that we would come back again.

What a find! This…read moreis a great barbecue place. I've had the ribs twice, & they're fall-off-the bone delicious. I like them best with the sweet & tangy sauce option. My husband has had the brisket both times, & he raves about it. He also likes the sweet & tangy sauce. As for the sides, our no. 1 choice is the baked beans. They're delicious. They're also highly unusual as they have peaches in them, which adds a distinctive flavor. The French fries are good, too, but the seasoning is a little too strong for me. The most unusual option is the Mexican street corn, which is like a cold salad with corn & lots of spicy flavoring.

It reminded me of an over cooked thick cut bacon. Ribs had no seasoning on it and I needed to ask for a knife to cut them apart. They were so tough I ate one and was done. Green beans serving was scant and salty. I could literally crunch salt on my teeth. Corn bread was room cold and they cut a piece of cold butter and put it on top. Mac and cheese not baked like bbq Mac and cheese should be, but was the only thing that was tasty on the plate. Service was ok! It did take 5 mins before anyone came to front to seat me. I waited a good 5-10 mins after getting my food for server to come over to another table that just sat to ask for the knife. The place was empty at 1pm on a Saturday (not surprised after getting food) and should not have service like that in an empty restaurant! Not good bbq!

We sat in addition where it was rather loud due to 5 kids at one table with their parents, and another party of 12 in there. The acoustics aren't terrific. Didn't ruin the experience, but just know in case you are sensitive to noise. Ask to sit in other areas. Very friendly employees! From the moment you step in. Hostess was nice and our server was terrific (shout out to Riley). She kept checking in on us and made sure that we had all that we needed. We ordered a margarita and I wouldn't recommend this at all. It tasted like lemonade and a some tequila. They also put sugar on the rim. It was subpar to say the least. It was nothing as described on the menu (fresh squeezed lime juice). We ordered the fried pickles for an app and I highly recommend them. The sauce that is served with them is great! For entrees, we ordered the Bone & Butt (ribs w/pulled pork) with a side of baked beans and a burnt ends meal with sweet potato fries. The ribs and pulled pork were absolutely great! Even the burnt ends were good too. However, I do like super wet sauces and they do come drenched in BBQ sauce. That was a me problem as I should have asked and I forgot. I should have ordered them plain. The corn bread was okay. We asked for butter for that. The fries were fabulous. The baked beans equally as good. There are two different sauces on the table for you to put all over the things. You can tell that they are making these things in house and take great care to make sure that they are good quality. The portions are terrific and the prices super reasonable. They have an extensive dessert menu. We didn't order as couldn't fit anything else. We even had to take to go boxes. This is located near Great Wolf Lodge! If you are staying there, this is super close and worth the drive. It's also not far off of 95 so if you are in the area swing by - worth the drive off of 95 (not far at all). Would for sure come again! Very tasty.
