Great "fast food" BBQ spot. The quality and taste of the food never disappoints. Nothing beats the moist brisket and the jalapeno and cheese sausage. They are my go to every time. Now the food isn't cheap, but it is delicious. If you happen to be there at noon they stop service to salute the flag and honor the men and women who serve and have served. That goes for military and first responders. They give a discount for them as well. Every Mother's day and Father's day they do a give away of a prize at each location. Usually a cooler or grill. My only complaint is when you order to go which I normally do they just throw your BBQ sauce, which come in these little cups with lids that don't attach right into your bag. Which almost always come loose and you get 1 or 2 sauces all over the inside of your bag. Please fix this, I can't be the only one this happens to every single time. read more

This Mission BBQ was my first time experiencing Mission BBQ ever... but it absolutely will not by my last! Decided to stop here for lunch while in town. I ordered the turkey with green beans. My husband got the brisket sandwich with mac and cheese and green beans. The service was speedy and courteous. Zero complaints! Our food was hot and fresh. The meat was melt in your mouth tender! Absolutely delish!! The best part of this whole experience was manager Nancy. She stopped at our table and asked how our meal was. We informed her that it was our first time at any Mission BBQ. She thanked us over and over again for giving them a try then surprised us with two free brownies and coupons for each of us for free sandwiches on our next visit. I've been to Texas twice now, and each time my wife and I searched for a great brisket. We've never found anything better than Mission BBQ. The food is fantastic every time, and the people are friendly and fast. They clear your table when you're finished eating and everyone is helpful and kind. I also truly appreciate their emphasis on patriotism and love of country. Every day at noon, the entire staff will stop what they are doing, and stand for the playing of the national anthem. read more

I've been there twice now, both times have been great. First time was during the lunch rush last week, waited no more than 5-6 minutes for my food. Restaurant was decently staffed, and the staff was hustling. There were also a couple staff cleaning up the tables, everything was clean and nice. Food was GREAT, and we liked the honoring firefighters/police/military. Went back a second time today with my son, who wanted to try it out, and he's hooked. It was a slower Sunday, but there was enough staff and the wait was minimal and nobody was lounging around looking at thier phones, unlike some places I've been to. Its hard to find staff worth anything these days, but they've managed to. :) Great food, great service, will be back frequently. read more

Went to mission Bbq on Friday at 5:15pm, no line no crowd. Just a few seated patrons. Things are looking good. I Step up to place an order to go and was immediately told that they had no ribs and no Mac and cheese. Please make it make sense a bbq joint that has now ribs. Hmmm okay so I proceed to order the turkey. It was the smallest cuts of meat I've ever seen in life at a bbq joint and dry as the Sahara desert. Definitely needed some sauce but it didn't help any. Unfortunately the only somewhat satisfying thing on my plate were the fries and half of them were cold. I have been to mission bbq in other states/areas and was overall please with the food. Love this place!! Best Mac and Cheese around. We get the huge container and bring it home. Bbq has always been delicious...tons of sauce options. Each time I've been by it's been fairly busy inside. They have a lot of seating so it's hasn't been an issue. All the workers have been really friendly. They have a pretty good menu with great selections. I love brisket so I generally get the moist brisket sandwich and eat a few bites of my friend's ribs. So yummy! Each table has 6 different sauces you can choose from but they're all so good, just use a little of each! Also, the soda fountain has Sierra Mist! I wish I had a Mission BBQ where I lived. read more

Love the staff here, and the service. I started eating here after I moved to York, it's quickly became one of my regular spot. Their kitchen is open, extremely clean, the staff is very friendly. For example today I went in, and want try their sweet mashed potatoes but was hesitant. However the girl at the front counter gave me a sample, which delicious. You can't go wrong with their meat samples which I love cause I can't ever make up my mind, so I get try alitt of each. There turkey and salmon is top notch. It's our first time here and felt like having bbq. We got the 3 meat combo which amount to about 3/4 lbs or meat for $15. Got turkey, brisket and pull pork. Both the turkey and pulled pork were tender and moist. Can't say the same for the brisket as that was very dry and crusty. You could tell it sat for awhile. Also got a 10 piece baby back ribs for $20. That was just okay and not the best ribs I ever had. The lady gave me some sweet as well as tangy sauces for dipping. Those were on cue for sure. For sides, we got a 1 serving Mac n cheese which my son devoured and 1 pint string beans with bacon. Now that mmm mmm mmm hit the spot. The staffs were very nice. After talking to a friend at work I had to try Mission BBQ. We discussed the best dinner to order was the salmon, baked sweet potato, string beans, and corn bread. Going up to place my order I found out I was in luck, they had one piece of salmon left. Paid my bill and the manager came over and said the last piece of salmon was already sold to a phone in order! She offered to comp my entree and I chose the turkey instead. Our $30 bill was reduced to $20! The turkey was very good: moist and tender. Add bbq sauce to it to spiff up the flavor. And there was enough to share with 2 or 3 people. My preference is the Tupelo Honey which adds heat and not too sweet. The string beans are nothing to look at but they are tasty. The maple butter on the potato complemented it with a surprising flavor. The corn bread was good but adding jalapeños to it would have been a great touch. For a surprise, I was also served blueberry cobbler! I had no idea what it was but it couldn't have been better! My son got the Mac and cheese and ribs. He said they were both good: the ribs especially. I took a taste and totally agree. Next time I have to try the salmon, then after that, the ribs. Way to ruIn a meal: over salt the string beans, over cook the salmon and make the cobbler so sweet that it hurts your teeth. Not doing this place again. read more

Legit delicious smoked BBQ. This was the fix I had been wanting despite trying 3 places before here. The meat is tender and flavorful on its own but their variety of sauces that are unique from one another make it a whole other experience to enjoy! The jalapeño cheddar sausage snapped the way it should and all the meats had a nice smoke ring. Staff all friendly and bus tables as you finish with your trays. Fountain drinks have nice assortment of choices including unsweetened tea, sweet tea, and fresh lemonade. The bathrooms are spotless with fresh flowers. That's always the biggest indicator for cleanliness to me and it gets a 100% score for that! Ambiance is fun with a military theme. It is always beneficial to see what the staff is doing and they aren't hidden behind a wall. The staff is always friendly and smiling, as it should be in the service industry. This gem was a pleasant surprise to stumble upon. We were staying in York for a night to head to Hersheypark the next morning. We were hungry for some good barbecue and Mission BBQ did not disappoint. From the outside you really can't tell that this place has a huge seating area, so there is plenty of space to sit at booths or tables. Ordering is quite simple as most of the meats are served by the pound and ribs by by bone/ half rack or full rack. There are also sides and seasonal items you can order as well. For drinks they have soft drinks and retro soft drinks that you choose from. Pricing is also very reasonable. All of the smoked meats were very moist and super tender. The baby back ribs just fell straight off the bone without need of utensils. The brisket was a favorite of our as well. I liked that they give you a choice whether you want lean or something with a little more fat for the brisket. Each table has a carrier holding the six different BBQ sauces to try. My favorites were the Tupelo Honey Heat and the Smokey Mountain BBQ sauces. Too bad there isn't a location closer to home. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area. read more
