This was my first time dining here. My sister made sure were the before the crowd. This is a busy restaurant. This restaurant has been in this location near the train tracks in the Lancaster area for over twenty years. The decor of the restaurant is a ton of memorabilia of the railroad, vehicle license plates from all over the United States, and the evolution of their menus over the years. The food is amazing and you will receive a plate full of food at a really reasonable price. Our server was Kim and she was amazing. There is plenty of free parking.

We had ordered take out from this location as we have done many times before. This time we found some steel wool in the biscuits and gravy, inside the gravy. It literally was swallowed and almost logged in my throat, I had to throw it up to get it out! We had informed the rest of the family to STOP eating as we were half way through the meal. I called the location to inform them of the issue and sent them video and photo evidence and they told me I was shit out of luck on a refund since we had already ate some of the food. We will NEVER order from them again. We order from and eat from their location at least 2-3 times a month. No compensation was offered besides a refund on the gravy. You got to be fkn kidding me. The Asian "owner" has no idea how to run a business. They admitted it was from their kitchen and they knew what the metal piece was and only offered to refund the gravy. What a joke. Avoid this place at all costs. Your life may depend on it. They do not care about their food and they don't care about their customer. I'll just do a charge back and get this over with.

Always a winner in my book. The history here and the people really make the place. This is Antelope Valley core. The portions are extreme but that isn't the absolute draw, the ingredients are fresh and made to order. They have decent gravy and that is hard to come by these days. Biscuits are always fluffy and light and not dry! I like how they do the omelette as they make the egg a very thin wrap around the ingredients. It's excellent food. I do wish they would turn the small train in that goes around the top, hat doesn't run anymore and I think that sucks!

Just so happens, I was in Lancaster and wanted a nice breakfast checked the yelp and found Crazy otto's with a decent amount of reviews. went inside and got seated at the old Timey counter immediately asked if I wanted something to drink and I got coffee. menu is pretty straightforward. Decent prices huge portions ambience is knickknacks and license plates from all over the country mostly California pictures of the old place the original all kinds of other stuff. It's a treasure trove of goodies. The food was amazing. 9:30 in the morning, it was filled with old patrons that have been coming in there for years had a great conversation and went about my day with a smile on my face.

Seated quickly. Very busy here. Small and Mighty. Smells delightful. History all around the walls. Love that. Drinks were brought promptly. I do think the bowls that hold the creamer need to be cleaned. Lots of crumbs in it. Sounds hungry! We dug right in! It's good! Really Good! Simply put, Go, Eat, Enjoy!

It comes with ground beef, toast or biscuit or gravy & hash brown- it was okay. I don't finished it all. It was a large portion of 1 person. Fiancée ordered streak. Meat was well seasoned. Ambiance is great. They will ring the big bell when the train track pass along. I was shock. Because the bell Was above me and it was my first time visiting. On the weekend they will do this lucky charm number. Whatever it is, it's a cool game lol. You should try this place. I will be back and come try the chicken liver breakfast. Thank you again with the great experience. The only thing that off was they came & gave our bill immediately. We weren't even finish eating. Pictures below provided.

I've been to Crazy Otto's once before and idk why I don't come here more often. The quality of the food & portions speak for themselves. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a good breakfast without trying to break the bank. Don't let the line fool you, they work quickly to get you served. All this came out to only $60! (Yes the same price or less than breakfast at Dennys) 10/10 pls support this small business!

Haven't been here in years. I treated my friend to lunch and she chose this place. There's plenty of parking outside. Inside was crowded but thankfully no wait. They had a lot of cool different license plates hung up with. They also had a cool vintage car that was made into a booth and that's were we dined. My friend ordered the pastrami sandwich and I ordered the veggie patty. I really didn't care for the veggie patty. I'm more of an impossible Burger type of person. Service , was great and I don't remember our waitress. Thank you!

This is a home town favorite, locally owned business that serves HUGE portions. My husband was in town for business (who goes to Lancaster for business? Feh. Why can't he have business in Hawaii?) so I came along for the ride. We asked the hotel for a recommendation, and they sent us to Otto's, with the warning, "Do not order a full plate for yourself." They were right. We got an order of the corned beef with two eggs to split between us, and it was more than enough food. Was it spectacular? No. My husband thought the corned beef was canned (I didn't) and there was a lot of oil and grease. However, it was good as only greasy diner food can be. It's in a ramshackle little building with a big "EAT" sign out of front, and the inside is decorated with photos and license plates. What makes Crazy Otto's more than just the usual 3 star diner food is the wonderful service. Really lovely people, quick coffee refills, and smiles all around. I can see why it's a local favorite. read more

Great value, tons of food. I normally get an omelette, but opted for the sausage and 2 egg special. The quaint dinner maintains the small town vibe that Antelope Valley used to be. Waitress are super friendly and accommodating... Oh, and if you don't want a ton of hash browns, they'll substitute them for beautiful sliced tomatoes. Try it out. I normally buy the full omelette for a little more and package half of it right at the table and take it home to my teenage son. read more

I met my wife in 2005. In September of that year she told me about this place in her home town of Lancaster, California. A great place to eat and she couldn't wait to get me there. Ten years later, March 2015 I finally made it to Crazy Otto's. Portions are great. Food was fine. Just a long wait. My father-in-law is driving me over to Crazy Otto's and he's like "Their ham steak is an inch thick" and my first thought is "OK, you're definitely exaggerating." Then he ordered the ham steak, and they backed the dump truck into my table and the thickest ham steak I've ever seen emerged! My omelet made the same impression, it is pictured next to my hand, making my large hands look like adorable little toys. For my whole life, I've been the one at the table to whom people ask "Tim, do you want to finish my cake/sandwich/steak/soup?" And I mean, I don't want to be rude! I took almost half this omelet home in a box, because of the silky smooth, yet crunchy hash browns and the biscuits and gravy that accompany my shoe-sized omelet. And the flavors were present, plenty of avocado in my omelet, and the egg not overcooked. Classic diner coffee, my only thumbs down is the gravy tasted more like salt and pepper than sausage. Otto is crazy, and he is successful in his mission of bringing over-sized, mouth-watering food to the masses. read more

Visited this cute little diner with my family on our snow trip. The portion sizes were massive and the food was tasty and hot! My only complaint would be the grease level in all of the dishes (we got a stack of napkins 3 different times) but that's part of the whole "authentic American diner" experience. The decor was fun and active, and the service was great. We got seated and helped immediately and were checked on the perfect amount of times with plenty of coffee refills. If you're looking for a good breakfast experience while in Lancaster, this is the place to go! read more

Yesterday the wife & I stopped in to one of our favorite places to eat breakfast, of which we've been coming here for years. Initially, the waitress we had was nice but when we asked for hot syrup and for our plates to be reheated she took off her apron and disappeared to the back. Soon afterwards, a waitress named Wendy who was professional, genuine & patient replaced the bad attitude girl and warmed our food and syrup without a problem. I was pissed with the young ladies behavior but my wife asked me to be nice because she was most likely being overworked. On our way out, I gave Wendy a $15.00 tip and my wife gave the girl who abandoned us $5.00 tip. I've worked in Customer Service for 20 years and have never treated a patron the way she did us. I'll still go there for breakfast though because it has world class omelettes & pancakes!!! read more

Bad slow service! Over charging on everything. We can't have cheese so we asked to take it out and replace it with spinach instead but we have to pay $3.95 for the spinach but they won't deduct the cheese from our bill good they took out the $1.00 charge for extra plate coz it doesn't make sense!! Very greasy veggie omelet and hash brown smothered with oil. Veggie omelet has only bell peppers, mushroom and onions for $10.95 ‍ Oh and server even forgot to give us toast or biscuit with our omelet. Last straw.. they took our card for the payment and took the server 15 minutes to give it back to us. Well after all they're called CRAZY ottos!! Glad I hardly eat out and would rather enjoy a clean healthier meal at home! read more

Haven't been to Crazy Otto's for a while but I know they are supporters of our veterans so I took my buddy there yesterday. My buddy is a Navy Vet and I wanted to treat him to a good breakfast and Crazy Otto's didn't disappoint. The food was delicious with the same large portions they've been serving since I started going there with my Grandpa 50+ years ago. Same great service with friendly staff. read more

We were visiting Palmdale and looking for a restaurant to take my in-laws out for breakfast. Of course with the lockdown, it's difficult to find anywhere that we can sit down and enjoy. I called Crazy Otto's and they explained that they had a tent for outside seating. We went and they were very nice. It was hot under the tent, they had a fan and it could only do so much. Plastic tables and chairs. Plastic utensils and it felt like we were at a church fundraiser, lol! But the food was really good! Not gourmet, but hot and a lot! Pancakes are ginormous! Eggs Benedict was good. We will definitely go back after things return to normal! read more

This breakfast was so good. It got me feeling so goood I was singing with my son on our drive. We both got the Bacon burrito but I can't wait to go back and see what else they got for us. History

Established in 1975.

In 1994, as a result of the Northridge Earthquake, Crazy Otto's Diner was forced to leave it's original location on Sierra Highway and relocate. The address on 20th Street West became the new home of the diner. Crazy Otto's was founded by Otto Lindsell as a retirement venture. After cooking for lumberjacks, a diner was a natural for Otto. He was a crazy old guy and the stories of his antics are well known by area locals. Many of Otto's original dishes remain on the menu today. Very little changes have been made to ingredients or recipes or the traditional cooking methods. As the demand for Otto's food grew, the diner expanded to several locations including Avenue I in Lancaster, Acton and Rosamond. At each diner you can experience the same great quality and food.

Meet the Business Owner: Sean C.

Sean Chainey is the owner and hands-on operator of several Crazy Otto's Diner restaurants. He is a California native, born and raised and still living in the Antelope Valley. He is a graduate of the Quartz Hill High School business program with continuing education in business. As a child he has fond memories of eating at the Original Crazy Otto's, located along the train tracks of Sierra Highway, like many of his longtime customers today. Beginning at the ripe age of 14 Sean was in and out of the restaurant business. Expanding on his passion and flavor for food, he traveled to the southeast to learn the unique cooking methods used in bar and grill settings and the southern eateries he worked in. The Reuben looked and tasted amazing, also served with a large portion of fries, one of the nice touches on this sandwich was the grilled Pastrami, this was a nice touch, its also served with sauerkraut & Swiss cheese on Rye. I do want to return to try the amazing looking breakfast options, they seem to have a huge variety of options. I also want to commend the wait stay, they were very nice and engaging, they came around multiple times to ensure that we had what we needed.

As you walk in you are blown away from all of the wall and internal decor within every inch of the building including a car booth and Bettyboop statue. They have a bar in the dining area and are very supportive of our troops, you see many signs throughout the establishment. The menu is very ample with many options, I tried the eggs, hashbrowns and bacon. The dish was well presented and more importantly had great flavor. I had the majority of the dish and even had some leftovers. The food was served hot and very quickly. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. I would say that the only thing that stopped me from giving Otto's a 5 star was the cost of the breakfast, it was like 27 bucks for two eggs, hashbrowns and bacon with a drink. This will not keep me from revisiting Ottos but just be aware of the cost. I would recommend a visit.

Crazy Otto's Diner provides an unforgettable cuisine in a comfortable environment. Me and my family love this place. This is our second time to this eating joining and we gained more confidence in their services and food. Though they didnt allow my dog who went for a walk with a friend, they are have reasonable prices with some of the delicious dishes on their Menu card. Nice places are always filled with people and this happened with me as well. Next time either i will go 15mins before the lunch or 1 hour after the lunch time. Huge portions, great prices, service can be slow on the weekends and in the mornings, but it's worth the wait, they can accommodate huge parties and that's what I love about it. We did a rehearsal dinner before my brothers wedding and with 20 people the staff didn't miss a beat. There is two locations. The one on ave I is the original and much bigger, both have ample parking. Great place for kids, Because it's always loud anyways. Lots of cool stuff on the walls in this place.
