My husband and I have been looking for an all you can eat sushi place since moving to Arizona four years ago. We finally found it!! We came yesterday ( Friday) at 5:30pm and seemed pretty dead. Then we realized they just opened thirty minutes prior! It definitely got busier as the night went on. So the all you can eat has three different price tiers that you can choose from. At first we were confused but totally makes sense after you choose and they give you the paper of your choice. We choose the second tier which excluded sashimi but had negiri options still available. September is the month that they are honoring happy hour all day every day. It was $3 off but still good price. You can choose the top tier for $40 which includes everything and anything. We paidy $25 for our section which included any role we wanted, appetizers, and nagiri. If you're just a role person they have a tier for you. For $20, you can choose the third tier which is just for rolls. Great pricing considering two roles makes up for your price tier anyway! We ordered a couple negiris, and a couple rolls each. Everything tasted fresh and delicious! I think out of everything that we ordered, the rainbow roll was definitely our favorite! Just delicious and fresh. We are so glad to have found this little gem! Can't wait to have more date nights and come here! Staff was also amazing! Very attentive considering there wasn't a lot of people. Liked that every waitress checked to see how you were doing. It was indeed "crazy" but not necessarily in a good way. Once we were seated, we weren't checked up on until 20 min when we finally had to flag down the passing manager to get service. And that includes even getting waters. I completely understand if you are understaffed and scrambling to meet everyone's needs but at least gives us a heads up. I keep my expectations for AYCE pretty reasonable. I'm not out here expecting high quality, just decent food in abundance. Even though I finished with a full stomach, I left unsatisfied. Many of the rolls had way too much sugar in them, especially ones with the fake crab meat or eel sauce. And the disproportionate amount of cream cheese was just too heavy. Overall, it just didn't feel worth it. Coming from the same vein of Jin BBQ and Jim Shabu, Crazy Tuna is a few tiers below those great establishments. read more

FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. My husband and I came in for lunch today. He used fish I do not, I wanted just the chicken teriyaki bowl as I DO NOT eat sea food. My husband enjoys sushi so we looked at the menu saw I could get my chicken while he gets his sushi so we went in. As soon as we tried to order they told us my husband and I had to order the exact same thing as we are sitting at the same table and can not be sharing food if he does the all you can eat sushi. We explained I do not eat seat food at all and would be ordering my own entree, the waitress said one moment to check on that went and got someone else to come back and repeat the same thing. We again explained I will not be touching anything of his as I do not eat things from the sea. They said we can not sit at the same table and order different items. So we got up and left and are now driving to a different sushi restaurant we frequently go to. And absolutely REGRET giving this place a chance. HORRIBLE. read more

3 stars because I love their sushi but we've been going here for the past two years, within those two years prices have increased drastically. They have it posted "oh prices have changed slightly." Last month, for a party of 40 it was 80$. Last night for a party of 4, 200$ absolutely awful prices. The service isn't even good. Half the time we go we are ignored. We wait so long just to get our next order in, refills or even are check. I use to recommend crazy tuna to everyone, but now y'all completely sold out. They were having happy hour all month of September and we couldn't wait to try this new AYCE spot! the service was helpful and quick. They did a great job explaining the menu options. Overall flavor wise this was good, different from what we usually eat over at another AYCE in Ahwatukee so it was a nice change. We really enjoyed some of the appetizer selections, takoyaki and Jalapeno poppers are a must try when eating here! However, I feel this place kind of missed the mark in a few areas though. Can't really be called an AYCE if you limit certain orders, definitely feels like it cheapens the experience. At least the other place I go to has unlimited sashimi included in the dinner. It's also not too clear on that limit, is it 1 order per person total or per round? Perhaps increase the limit a bit to 2 or 3. The other mark I feel this place misses is the lack of variation in the base of the rolls. Literally half the rolls base are either shrimp tempura or crab salad mix. Service was was an interesting experience though, once we put our orders in, our food started flooding the table within like 5 minutes, we barely kept up trying to clear things off before another part of our order showed up. Maybe slow it down just a tad and let us savor the food. Granted, it's kind of our fault for ordering heavily right off the bat, but thats usually what you have to do at some AYCE places otherwise you're sitting forever to get one item. Sushi quality was okay. The beers and "cold" sake were warm. It was so hot inside it was hard to enjoy our meal. Employees and patrons were sweating profusely. I won't go into depth on anyone in particular, but if you have someone running food, good hygiene and uniform without holes is important. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I'm originally from CA, so I was beyond excited to hear that Crazy Tuna was opening! I will break down the review so it's easier to read! Location: Crazy Tuna is right off Elliot, hidden behind the IHOP and O'Reillys auto parts. Plenty of parking! Decor: There is space inside to dine, but it isn't a "big" location. I believe there was about 25 tables? But regardless they fit all party sizes. They boast TWO SUSHI BARS Y'ALL!!!! Both were cranking out food! Really awesome to see. The lights are very modern and the whole atmosphere was comfortable. Food: Now, all you can eat is dangerous as you may over divulge yourself... which is exactly what I did and will do again and again here! The sushi was amazing! I loved the different roles they had, customizations, apps, salads!! SO MUCH FOOD!!! We also shared a bottle of Green Apple Sake, which was crisp and sweet. I can't stress enough how much I enjoyed my time here tonight. Overall: For 3 adults to have all you can eat, a bottle of sake and no leftovers, our bill was right around $100. Now, that may seem expensive, but we shared 4 rolls 8 pieces each, 6 Nigiri, 8 sashimi, salad, veggie tempura, beef bugolgi with rice, and that bottle of sake. It was seriously worth it. We've been to other AYCE sushi places and their rolls just don't measure up to Crazy Tuna's. While you are limited to three rounds, I personally don't mind since this limitation allows for the chefs to prepare quality food and larger portions -- the trade-off is so worth it! We couldn't even make it to round 3, and my partner and I ordered 8 signature rolls and one deep fried roll lol! OMG.... First they were very happy to accommodate a party of 13 last minute (at 2pm so not during normal meal time). Large dining area, view of several prepping areas, calm relaxing dining experience, and great servers! Tons of amazing sushi to pick from! I ordered Mango Salmon and Shrimp Killer to share with my 6yo and it wasn't to spicy but just right. My 10yo love eel and he was in heaven and honestly surprised he shared a few pieces. My mother-in-law ordered a side of yellowtail sushimi after eat yellowtail sushi because as she said it was the best she's ever had. My oldest son doesn't like sushi so he ordered Beef Bulgogi ate 80% of it but it was a very generously filled plate but plenty for sharing. Definitely worth a visit read more

Service was exceptionally slow and the employees never apologized for the wait. We were seated and got water at the table but it took nearly 15 minutes before anyone came to take our order. Same thing when we were ready to pay, it took a very long time for them to grab our cards and bring them back. I get it if they are struggling with staffing and it's busy but it's not acceptable to not acknowledge delays. The sushi was good not great and you can get better all you can eat at Junn in Tempe. In addition, we asked for a Vegas Roll twice and it was never brought out, plus we ordered 4 miso soups and they took 45 minutes to come out, again with no acknowledgement of a wait and we had to remind the server. Out running errands and ran into Crazy Tuna for a quick bite to eat. Little did we know that it was all you can eat Sushi!! Sadly we didn't have the time for it so ordered off the menu (the All-you-can-eat sushi menu looked great and a decent price)!! I got the Hawaiian Roll and Salmon Skin Roll both were delish!! I was pleasantly happy that their sushi didn't fall apart (the last 2 restaurants I went to this happened). My husband got a beef plate that he devoured (pic below)!! It came with a nice amount of rice and a salad. The server was as kind and helpful as can be, even informed us about the other restaurants that they owned; one being an all-you-can-eat hot pot!!! We set a reservation for several of us to celebrate my son's birthday, and the host was able to do that, kindly and upon relatively short notice, and she even held the table for us for a few minute before we arrived. 2. Prices for the California roll seem reasonable, and there is plenty of it to eat. Cons: 1.) It felt like we waited 20 minutes before anybody even came over to take our order, though the restaurant didn't appear to be that busy. 2.) Be advised that if anybody in your party orders from the all you can eat menu, anybody in the party who doesn't want it will be asked to sit at a separate table, even if you're celebrating an event together like a birthday. It felt like we had a demilitarized zone, then, between our table and our son's, and that really kind of ruined the festivity of the occasion. 3.) The Sake bomb is not a bomb. It's just a bottle of beer, and empty pint glass, and a small decanter of relatively hot sake next to it. No chopstick bridge on top, no sake glass, no foaming experience, no fun. Certainly not a bomb. 4.). At least one person in our party was not feeling well after eating the all you can eat sushi, so be advised there. 5.) They added an automatic 18% gratuity to our bill since we were a party of five or larger, but again, they didn't let all of us sit together as a large group, so that seemed unnecessary and even sinister. Crazy Tuna is pretty crazy. What's great about this place is that they have 3 all you can eat menu options, all of which include happy hour prices. Unfortunately their roll lover price was not available when we went so we did the middle tier AYCE option. For $31ish we got stuffed. Their classic rolls are, indeed classic. But surprisingly I found their tempura rolls the best which is a statement because I never enjoy deep fried sushi. Like, ever. Their nagiri was also delicious. It was a nice break between all the rolls. Customer service was also great. For a sushi restaurant in the deserts of Arizona, I wouldn't be made coming back for affordable AYCE sushi. read more

This spot is pretty good. I think they're a little intense with their enforcement of rules. There's a measuring tape for kids at the hostess stand and the purpose of it is to charge you accordingly. Not sure they use it but it's strange. If you go in with kids around the age 6 they strongly encourage you (because if not it's against the rules) to have them also do the all you can eat price option even though kids that age usually don't need an all you can eat option. The food is good. I like they have carpaccio but I wish they were more consistent with their garnish on them. read more

Until 09/30/2021, they are featuring Happy Hour pricing on their Roll Lover, Sushi Lover, and Sashimi Lover menus, as well as 50% off Alcoholic Drinks - different menus for how much sushi or what kind of food you prefer. We visited on a Sunday around brunch-time. Upon entering the restaurant, you are hit with this musty plumbing odor, which was the only minus we encountered during this experience. It dissipates after a while, but may be off-putting at first. Other than that, our servers, Teresa and Rose, were friendly and very helpful. They walked us through the whole process and clarified that leftover food will be charged 20% of the bill - WASTE NOT WANT NOT! The food was okay, like a 3/5. The best food was the yellowtail nigiri. Pretty much the only thing I really liked. The rolls are very heavy and pretty obviously meant to fill you if you're doing the all you can eat. HOWEVER!! The service is a 15/10. Easily. Seriously service was incredible.
