People often go to a sushi restaurant and attempt to eat as much as they can. Crazy tuna has a wide variety of sushi choices. I came with a group and decided not to attempt the all you can eat, but rather enjoy items from the à la carte menu. The restaurant is located in a strip mall near IHOP. The interior is larger than it appears and the menu is fairly large. We were a group of five and ordered a variety of items. Since this is Korean owned I thought I would also try the Korean bulgogi, which was fairly priced and plated aesthetically. The taste was authentic without having to cook it yourself. There was plenty of wait staff waiting to take our order and many of the items arrived quickly. Since we were ordering à la carte, they would check in on us periodically. I will definitely go again and this place is nice for groups. it was fun to be able to try various rolls and plates and the sushi was made to order and the fish was better quality.
Walked in with a group of 4 and were pleasantly accommodated right away. There was a helpful tall gentleman that kept checking on us throughout our all you can eat experience which was very nice. So, the food! It was delicious! I have to say my brother in law is very ambitious so by the end I was just trying to finish what we had left instead of savoring it. That being said, we had all the nigiri and sashimi, carpaccio and two rolls, scallop appetizer, miso, baked dynamite roll, poke nachos, etc.! Some knockouts were the seared salmon carpaccio, ceviche salmon roll, mango salsa carpaccio, ahi/salmon/albacore nigiri, dynamite roll were all knockouts. I could've done without the Cajun nigiri but my husband loved those (I can't do spice!). Also would've chosen something else over the poke nachos, baked scallop roll (they were cold-ish?) and caterpillar roll. Overall was such a fun experience in a cute, clean restaurant. Oh, seeing reviews about the black rice being a big deal but as a first timer I thought it was fun and tasted yummy. To each their own!
I've been wanting to try this place for a while. I went during Happy Hour because it's a bit cheaper. But it's Christmas, and they don't have Happy Hour for holidays. Oh well. We went with the Sushi Lovers all you can eat for $33.95? The Sashimi Lover is more expensive. The sushi was pretty good, and came fairly fast. We also ordered the dynamite roll and baked salmon roll. I really liked the baked salmon roll. The service was very good. I'm glad we finally got to try this place. Next time I think we'll try the Sashimi lover.
"How's everything so far? Good? Ok." After completing my workout I was wondering on what I should eat afterwards and I just so happened to be craving sushi. However, the usual spot I recently ate at for all you can eat sushi had shut down...I did remember watching a video about the sushi challenge for Crazy Tuna on TikTok awhile ago and I was amazed...But I didn't want to attempt and be pictured in the hall of shame. So I came here. "How are we doing so far?" I showed up during the evening and was greeted by the hostess and they kindly showed me how to order. It was pretty similar to other all you can eat sushi spots but this location does not use a tablet to order which I liked. The ambiance was dark but well lit. It was quite cozy while I ate alone. "How are we doing so far here?" I glanced over the menu and saw a plentiful amount of sushi rolls and nigiris...but I lately I've been enjoying handrolls...On their menu there was not an option for handrolls so I asked a kind, attentive server about it and they said "just mark HR next to the one you'd like". So I ordered 3 spicy tuna handrolls and miso soup for the first round. I did not wait too long for my food to arrive. The quality of the food was delightful and fresh. I really enjoyed the "How are we here?" sushi rice; it had a nice vinegary taste to it. Besides the sushi hand rolls I also ordered some specialty rolls which I unfortunately do not remember the name of...but it was delicious. The miso soup was pretty standard for its taste, nothing too special. While eating I did notice that the service was odd...but I was not annoyed by it...Some servers would stop by my table to check up on me frequently and ask "How are we doing so far?" Maybe they had a complaint about their service l? Who knows? This kind of service was quite funny to me but I still enjoyed my food. Overall, Crazy Tuna will be my go to spot for all you can eat sushi in Chandler. The price is reasonable, the service is top notch and very attentive, and the atmosphere is cozy. They now only serve BLACK RICE... so disappointed. Especially when no one warned you before ordering. I come weekly because it's my favorite restaurant, sadly my favorite roll (the reason I come) now doesn't taste the same with this change and I'm so sad. I appreciate wanting to be more health concise, but I would prefer that to be an option I can select. Not forced on me. Taste wise it was fine. Tastes good. I am sad that the prices have increased so much. Unbelievable prices these days. I like they are made to order. Sometimes they forget items ordered and give other items by mistake due to how busy they are. The Mango tango was a bit sweet. I like my sushi to be more savory than sweet. They decorate for the holidays. It seems like they change their food offering now and then. Don't know if this is good or bad. It can be very crowded. I don't like the wait.
This is my new favorite AYCE sushi place!! The last place I frequented went down in quality, but this place really does have the best sushi (for an AYCE place!) The menu has a huge variety too, appetizers are a hit or miss, go with more people so you can share and try it all. Nigiri - yes, yes, yes, can't go wrong here, the quality of the cuts were great, the chefs know what they're doing, the seared Cajun nigiri are really good and must try Baked scallop roll- delicious and lots of scallops Mango Tango roll - this roll is ADDICTING if you like sweet things Seaweed salad - generous on the seaweed, love it Beef bulgogi roll - it was okay, meat was dry so can pass Takoyaki - yummy but with one piece of squid in the middle Coconut shrimp - you can really taste the coconut, it's great! Calamari tempura - a stick of calamari for the tempura, it really reminded me of the street vendors in Japan and how they do it Stuffed mushroom - I like how it was done here compared to other places Miso soup - this is pretty standard but I'll never do an AYCE sushi place without it Orange chicken - you can pass on it, very dry Katsu - you can pass on it, very dry They are thankfully not understaffed and so service was wonderful, dishes came out quickly. The only other thing I'll mention is that this place is FREEZING so dress warm when you go so you can comfortably scarf down that delicious sushi!
All you can eat! The seared salmon and seared butterfish were my favorite tonight. The salmon mango roll was delicious.
My friend and I met up here dinner last week. I have been in once before but it was her first time. It was pretty busy at 7pm but luckily a table opened up within 5mins. We were seated all the way in the back area. It was pretty cold in the restaurant, which made it difficult to sit through the entire meal. We chose the sashimi AYCE which was $45. I must have read the wrong price thought it was $35. Staff were friendly and service was good. We did have to ask for fresh wasabi, ponzu twice and a drink menu twice but no biggie. Our waitress did come and check if we wanted to put more orders in often. The quality is alright. Not bad. Im not a huge fan of AYCE sushi spots because I prefer better quality over quantity. I like the carpaccio choices and the cajun salmon but I could tell some were not the best quality that night. Surprisingly, the uni nigiri was good but we were limited to only 2 nigiris each and wish we could've ordered more rounds of that. My friend put in one more order for a poke nacho but never received it.
This place is okay. A bit higher priced than its other AYCE sushi competitors (Junn, Sakura, A Sushi & Grill). The service is prompt and friendly. Drinks were always filled and food came out quick. Two huge complaints though. The rice to fish ratio was awful lol. I understand that most AYCE places try to fill you up with the rice, but this place wasn't even trying to be demure with it. It felt like 75%rice 25%fish. There were also stipulations on how many rolls/nigiris/signature rolls/sashimis you can order per round... which technically doesn't really make it AYCE. It also kind of takes the experience out of leisurely trying things out, and trying to fulfill your quota in the first round. They have great happy hour pricing! My favorite would have to be the Cajun seared escolar.
Excellent food and amazing service. The rolls were great, the Crudo and biggie.. taste just like a regular sushi restaurant that is charging way more. Their seafood spicy udon soup was excellent, the flavor was just perfect. And I'm not gonna lie here their french fries were basically McDonald's! Yes, I love french fries and they have the perfect ones. Overall, for the value, it's very hard to beat this place.
$33.95 for sushi lovers on Saturday. $29.95 for happy hour. Prices are the same since last year which is good. Place is still as popular as ever. People (including us) were waiting in their cars for the restaurant to open in the afternoon. Don't know if this is something new because I don't remember this being a thing before but round 1 is now capped at 4 rolls. We enjoyed all our sushi rolls. They still have some of the best cooked rolls in town. They have decorated for Halloween and the decoration was pretty cool, my kid enjoyed it.
I would take your business to A Sushi and Grill, sadly. First of all, service from our waiter Christian was amazing, friendly, and fast, ambience was also fine, no complaints there. My main complaint is with how stingy this business is. It's normal to charge for leftovers at AYCE, but here they charge even for RICE left on the plate. This was especially annoying given that they stack the nigiri with as much rice as they possibly can. Not only that, but even if you take the L and pay the leftover fee, they don't even let you take it home. You have to pay a separate $13.95 fee to have a to-go box. Unbelievable. To top it all off, almost all of the rolls were built around fake crab salad and shrimp tempura--cheap and filling. I am rarely compelled to write a bad review, but this kind of greedy operation aggravates me.

This was my 1st time here and I can't believe I haven't eaten here before. The restaurant is clean and the atmosphere is awesome. The service was fantastic. Ashlee and Francis were very attentive, but didn't make me feel rushed. I went in by myself. I took my time, enjoyed my sushi while reading and watching shows on my phone. I will definitely be going back. The sushi was so fresh and everything I ordered was delicious. read more

Food was delicious and now leaving stuffed!! They are super friendly and all the waiters and waitresses take care of you. Ambiance is great for dates, family dinners or even a girls night out. Just be careful on how much sushi you order, otherwise you'll pay 20% more for whatever is left. read more

We went during Happy Hour... and were pleasantly surprised by the $26/person price for AYCE sushi, sashimi, and appetizers! After doing some quick math, we opted to go the AYCE route... and I can say that you better bring your appetite if you do the same! We ordered a roll (or two) too many... but found our inner hunger and gobbled them all up! We started with the seaweed salad and squid salad. For sashimi, we went with the yellowtail, albacore, salmon, escolar, and izumi dai. All were delish, but the escolar, albacore, and izumi dai are my top recommendations. As far as rolls, we went with the spicy tuna... and then a few specialty rolls - the Ex-BF (a riceless roll), the Hawaiian, and the Chandler Handler... and they were all awesome, tasty, and super fresh! Service was awesome - I think they filled up my glass of water about six times, lol. For those gluten-free like me, there are a lot of rolls that include tempura, so you're somewhat limited unless you ask them to customize the rolls for you. I opted not to do so as there were still enough other rolls that sounded incredible (and they were incredible). Will definitely be back for more! This is a excellent spot for sushi. It's a all you can eat for a reasonable price. You can also order single rolls if you don't want the all you can eat. Everything was fresh and they even have the raw wasabi if you ask for it. It's a extra charge but so good. This place is so fresh I have even went out of my comfort zone and tried some sushi rolls I didn't even think I would like. I liked!! The only think I would say as a con would be you can't sit at the sushi bar and order all you can eat. Just single dishes. It's ok though, the atmosphere is all around enjoyable. Also the staff kicks butt at keeping you satisfied. We will be back again and again. Try it out! read more

In Phoenix area if you want AYCE sushi, there aren't that many choices. We have tried them all. This was our first time at Crazy Tuna. We drove from Surprise to try this place. We were not disappointed!! We chose the sushi lover option and got busy ordering. Everything was fantastic. The portions were very large, even the cuts of fish on the nigiri were larger than normal. The rolls are very big! Don't over order. The selection and quality is top notch. You want to try everything so it's easy to get too much. Come hungry and leave happy and very very full! we gave it a try since we havent found an ayce sushi thats up to par in AZ. Turns out, we are not surprised. Some items are better in quality like their salmon, and Takoyaki (Omg their takoyaki is probably one of their most well done dish). everything else was quite underwhelming especially since we tried the sashimi ayce during happy hour (which is everyday for now as a promotion, not sure when it ends). It was $37.95 plus tax for the all inclusive. They didn't have any special high quality fish for something that's all inclusive. And for over $40 including tax and tips, I would expect some high quality toro or uni as an option. service was good. Food came out super duper fast. Havent been served so quickly in a very long time. we went on a Saturday evening and had to wait 1-1.25hrs for our table. They claim to be understaffed so be mindful of that. They do charge for waste and have specific rules of how many rolls/sushi/sashimi per person per round one can place. we will likely not return again. I'd rather visit Vegas for some delicious sushi ayce at the same price. Oh btw, their rice to fish ratio in sushis were high.. unlike in most ayce in Vegas, they served more fish to rice ratio. 1 star for service and the other for some sushis that aren't too bad. No star for its pricing and fish quality. read more

I LOVE this restaurant. Amazing service, great atmosphere and the Haappy Hour All You Can Eat deal is AMAZING. Great quality for a great price. The mango tango roll is usually around $18 but on the AYCE menu you can have 3 of them for $21!! PLUS MORE! This is my sushi spot from now on. Baked Scallop roll is great too. Other places like the low quality Tokyo Joe's, you'll be spending $40 on 3 or 4 regular 8 piece rolls like spicy tuna. Go to Crazy Tuna. It's so worth everything. read more

First off is like to thank Alex and Kimberly for the hospitality and great service. Honestly in the past I don't really get too excited when all-you-can-eat sushi is chosen as a place to eat by my friends. It's definitely not on my priority when I want something to eat. If anything I rarely eat it! However that has changed my perspective and craving for sushi ever since my first visit here with a group of friends. We all instantly were impressed with the service, the menu options and choices, and even how fast the plates came out. The many rolls, nigiri, and appetizers ordered are delicious. Agadashi tofu, shrimp tempura, poke salad are good to order to start off before ordering nigiri. I look forward to eating here a lot more often now that I found an AYCE sushi spot that actually tastes good. read more

Came here with my boyfriend on a Friday night! The chefs were so fast with each order and everything tasted so fresh and good. We came from California and didnt expect much but this place is our new favorite!! It was beyond our expectations and we will be coming back again. The best AYCE sushi place in Arizona! Nothing else really comes close compared to Crazy Tuna for the price and quality. Honestly better than a lot of non AYCE sushi spots I have been to as well. They have a pretty wide selection of fish but that doesnt detract from the quality. My personal favorites were the uni, the fish carpaccio and the yellowtail collar! Our server Will (and a few others who were also amazing didn't get their names) always checked in on us to see if we were doing okay and if we got our orders, refilling our waters, just the smallest things go a long way for us Sushi here is BOMB! Good selections from apps, classic rolls to specialty rolls, they even have "NO RICE" rolls The nigiris and rolls are not average.. they are SPECTACULAR and good slabs of fish and perfect amount of rice. "Crazy Tuna" is probably the most perfect name for this place because the all-you-can-eat sushi rules are literally so crazy, that the server sounded like she was giving me a PowerPoint presentation on how to order. I made sure to check the menu, website and Yelp before going in. I saw that my all-you-can-eat experience was $27.95 per person and that my daughter who is 7, would be charged $13.95 for hers. The website stated ages 3-9 eat for that price. We were set. Went here with my family tonight, and we were told it was some special they were running so if we ate from certain sections of the menu it was one price, if we ate these blue sections, it was another price and if we ate the ones marked in orange it was another. okay cool. We chose the middle one. Then they asked how tall my daughter was because if she's under 4ft, she gets to eat at the kid price. Mind you, their website states ages 3-9 eat at the child price, but whatevs. My daughter is tall for 7 years old and was 4ft 1in. I made her take her shoes off, and she was under. So we got that child price, but come on, that rule is a bit silly. Kids 10 and under don't eat much. The server left the menu with us and a pen. I started writing our orders in before she came back and told me I wasn't suppose to write on that one. My fault.....I guess? She brought me a different menu to write in which was identical to the first one, but okay. Crazy. Food came out SO quick! It was as if they already had it ready. One server after another dropped food off at our table. It was so full of food that they added another table for us. I will say this, if you go and eat their all-you-can-eat sushi, DO NOT get their appetizers. I went a little crazy on those based off the minuscule amounts I get at other places and lo and behold, this place is dishing out full portion appetizers. Plates were huge. This is also one of those places that charges for food you don't eat, so you can understand my concern seeing huge appetizers come out in addition to our plates of sushi. I will definitely give them credit for their food. It was delicious. But we have never stuffed our faces so much in our lives to get all of our food in our tummies. read more

Our family was craving sushi tonight. We came with an appetite and we were NOT disappointed!! The sushi was super fresh and very tasty. The other non-sushi items were also very delicious and savory (every item ordered were made to order). The manager Kimberly was very friendly and hospitable. The food came out in a very timely manner. We didn't have to wait very long for our food. All the staff at this restaurant was very professional and friendly. Crazy Tuna has become one of our favorite places to go for sushi in the valley. Considering sushi is expensive no matter where you go, this place gives you the most value as long as your eyes aren't bigger than your stomach. We've been going here since they first opened and have seen it grow in popularity despite it never having more than a 15 minute wait when we have gone. Since the restaurant is all you can eat you need to come ready to eat and it can take a while to get used to the rules. When you arrive the staff will go over the different menu/pricing options and clarify the bill if there is food leftover. Because fish is so expensive this is understandable since they don't want to waste it but we have seen people get upset or confused by this so just keep that in mind before going. When we go we usually get the Sushi Lover or Roll Lover since they pretty much cover all the basics of what most people will want to get. Our favorite roll is the Salmon Ceviche Roll but overall we haven't really found any that we didn't like. They also have other options as well such as edamame or even ramen but be sure not to fill up on appetizers since they are decent portions and you can easily get full off of just those items. As far as drinks we usually get sake bombs and found that they are decently priced and overall with two sake bombs and 5+ rolls and multiple appetizers we spend around $75 including tip.
