[the shop] It's a really cute corner shop located along Telegraph. They've been expanding their menu to more than cookies and ice cream, now they have dosants, vegan baked goods, soy ice creams, and ice cream tacos. The staff are all very friendly and the price is pretty good for the amount of ice cream and goodies that you get. [ice cream//cookies] I had the salted caramel ice cream with half brown sugar and half snickerdoodle cookie sandwich. Cream has never been my favorite ice cream and eating an ice cream sandwich can get pretty messy, sticky fingers and all. It's a little flaky. It's almost like they used 2% milk instead of heavy cream or something. It tastes like it ought to be made with something with a higher butterfat content. Everything was going a-ok until I got up to the register to pay. The cashier said "that'll be $4.99 and did you want to leave me a tip?" I went into panic mode. I was completely befuddled and shocked that he actually asked me to tip. I didn't know what to do, so I just clicked the 15% option. It only came out to around 74 cents, but it's such BAD practice to beg for a tip. This experience was very off putting. I just can't believe I was asked for a tip in such a pressure-y way.
