Oh my gosh, the nostalgia! CREAM opened in Berkeley in 2010, when I was in elementary school. I have so many fond memories of growing up and coming here with my friends and family. As a kid, this was the best place to be--ice cream and cookies all in one. As an adult now, the desire is much less and I haven't stepped foot in quite some time. After dinner with my family, dessert was on our minds so I suggested CREAM! We came on a weekday and it wasn't busy. I've noticed depending on the time and day wait times can vary. The shop is humble and small, with enough space to stand but no areas to sit. Inside you can see all the ice cream and cookie flavors plus the menu of various dessert concoctions. My family did the ordering and the service was speedy. Unfortunately, I don't have dairy anymore but thankfully CREAM has vegan (and gluten-free) options! I ended up getting a scoop of the Soy Mint Chip. Honestly, this wasn't good. It was super duper minty, like the artificial mint taste. Mint and chip is my favorite ice cream flavor but I could barely handle theirs. The consistency was quite chalky and icy as well, which is disappointing as many dairy-free ice creams can still be rich and creamy. I also got a White Chocolate Macadamia Cookie. This was so sweet and sugary, I couldn't eat it all. I feel like the sugar and sweetness levels have gone up here and the quality down. I'm torn because CREAM is such an iconic spot but it isn't what it used to be. If you go to Cal it's worth a visit once but not a place I'd go out of my way for! Regardless, it's a staple and easy to find on the corner of Telegraph Ave. Parking is street or in nearby garages.

Stopped by Cream after walking around and tried the strawberry cheesecake ice cream. It was really good. It was creamy, not too sweet, and the strawberry flavor came through nicely. Simple, solid dessert spot.

After a wonderful day out with my family, my daughter suggested going to cream as we have done in the past because we can trust finest ingredients. Best flavors, and I put my ice cream between a couple warm cookies oh my gosh. They have a great selection of flavors and a big selection of cookies and I would suggest this Berkeley location to enjoy something sweet on any day hot or cold.

Parking is definitely going to be a challenge. We got vanilla ice cream and brownie shake. We loved both and customer service was good. Place was organized.

The birthday cake cookie was amazing. So many sprinkles and it was nice and warm. Didn't feel like having ice cream but tried a sample and it tasted good too. Would go back

Employees looked like college kids, which makes sense. They were nice enough. Probably ready to go home. I ordered an ice cream sandwich, as one does here. The cookies were hard, and the ice cream was super soft. So every time you take a bite, the ice cream squishes out. The churro ice cream is delightful. But I would probably just order it on its own next time. Shop is cute, I honestly don't remember if there was anywhere to sit. But we just got our order to go anyway. I might return. But won't go out of my way to do so.

I haven't been here in a while. It was still good. I think they raised the prices a little bit, but I'd come back. Server was nice. Change her gloves after using cash register I appreciate that.

I love CREAM! Whenever im in the mood for ice cream, this is my go to. I usually opt for a double scoop and get the birthday cake flavor + something else. This time I did birthday cake and cookies n cream. The ice cream is very creamy and flavorful. I enjoy the mix ins in both of these flavors, especially the sprinkles in the birthday cake flavor. There isn't usually a line (unless it's a hot day) but regardless, you can get through pretty quickly. The inside of the shop is pretty cozy, but they do offer a few seats. I highly recommend checking it out!

The sweet treat spot. First impressions: limited seating inside, but not super busy when I went on a Wednesday at 5pm. I got a single scoop of Banana Walnut Fudge, and it was pretty good! Definitely sweet...I think a single scoop was just enough to not leave me feeling icky after consuming too much sugar, but two scoops probably would've done it. I really enjoyed the flavor though - didn't have that artificial banana flavor, more like banana bread plus some fudge and walnut chunks. I had a gift card for CREAM, so I used it here with no issue. But I do remember it being pretty pricey...around $5-6 for one scoop if I remember correctly. If I didn't have a gift card, not sure I would stop by. I typically don't frequent sweet-tooth-sugar dessert spots other than rare occasions, and I think CREAM is that type of place for me.

I first started coming to this location almost 12 years ago as a freshman. Back then, the line would stretch down the block and an ice cream sandwich cost $2. Since then, there are more locations around the Bay Area and the price for the sandwich has tripled. I still enjoy getting their ice cream sandwiches whenever I'm in town. Coming back to CREAM always reminds me of those late nights when I'd stop by with my friends, or grab one to go on my way to the library. They have a large menu, but I always stick with the ice cream sandwich. The chocolate chip cookies are good. In my opinion, the ice cream is just okay. I recently tried the strawberry ice cream and it tasted a little icy. Overall, I recommend trying this spot at least once if you're in the area.

This was a favorite late night hangout many years ago with my friends - cookies and ice cream are some of my go-to desserts and thought it was a genius business idea. In the past, this place was super popular and lines were around the block. Currently, there are several locations around the bay, which helped with a better distribution of the fans and hopefully shorter lines! I would mix and match different cookie and ice cream flavors but some favorites were classic chocolate chip with vanilla or mint chocolate chip ice cream. The cookies were hit or miss with the baking consistency - sometimes they were warm/soft (how I liked them) but there were times when they were a bit over-baked and hard. Prices were decent but have since gotten more expensive. CREAM will always be a special place for me with nostalgic sweet memories!

I believe this is the best ice cream around the area. It's a rare occasion to have ice cream in Berkeley. Anyways. The queue takes a while because almost every order takes some time to assemble and some order several items so keep in mind to wait. I think it's a bit worth it depending on what you would like. I would highly recommend ordering through an app and arriving and getting it the right way. Which I had a good experience. When I decided to walk in for a second time another night, the queue was short so I imagined it would be quick but no. I had Cream a couple of years back but at a different location, I did not like it but years later at Berkely, I reckon distinctly. I ordered the hot fudge sundae with 2 scoops, flavouring being French vanilla and strawberry with fruity pebble topping and the whipped cream with the cherry on top. Ask for a lid! It was so scrumptious and worth the wait. They do work hard to get this piece of sugar into your body. The snickerdoodle with the French vanilla ice cream is very good too, though sometimes the ice cream has a grainy texture. I'll incite a friend or two for a walk out and hang out.

Are there any sugar-free choices (cookies, ice cream, or (ideally) both)? My company is getting items from CREAM for a party this week, and I'm hoping there's something diabetic-friendly.

I don't think there is any sugar free at the moment they have low sugar with the dairy free options but that was it. You have to tell them ahead of time to make some of the cookies sugar free.

The only issue is there's no clear menu posted online, so we walked in completely blind. Their website shows a long list of flavors but not what they actually have that day, so it felt like a guessing game. The line moved really slow because there was only one employee handling everything. She was taking orders, giving samples, answering questions, and ringing people up all at once. She was super friendly and doing her best, but it felt like a lot for one person during a rush and the shop could definitely use more help. The space is really small and tight so it was hard to even see the flavors until we got close to the front. When we finally got up there, a lot of the tubs were already empty which was confusing since most ice cream shops restock. Some flavors I wanted weren't available anymore, and if they're out it would make more sense to just remove them from display. The dirty containers didn't make sense to display. I sampled the jasmine green tea and knew right away I wanted it. It was creamy with a smooth tea flavor that wasn't overpowering. I got a small with half jasmine green tea and half avocado. The avocado was surprisingly really good, super creamy and tasted like a fresh avocado smoothie. Both flavors weren't overly sweet which I liked. My husband wanted cookies and cream but it was sold out so he got chocolate chip instead, which was solid and creamy with good texture. Overall the ice cream itself was good, not the best I've had but definitely not bad. I like that the flavors lean more natural and not overly sweet. I could see myself coming back if I'm in the area, but the experience would be a lot better with faster service and more consistency with what's actually available.

Last several times in a row, it's been pretty dang bad, (the potato chips always taste fishy!) but today (8/5/26) it was literally garbage. We had 2 egg salad sandwiches and a jalapeno burger, plus two milkshakes. The egg salad sandwiches had to be straight up tossed out. Just not edible. The egg salad was sooo watery, it was like a soup. Just dripping and running down out of the bread. Also, a HEAVY mustard taste, overpowering everything else. The burger had a piece of something (literally) translucent on it, apparently their idea of a slice of cheese? And the accompanying fries were COLD. The toasted almond milkshake was so runny it was like a flavored water. Not at all a creamy consistency, I don't even think they made it with milk, it seemed to be just a tiny bit of ice cream, some water and a lot of ice cubes (still visible in the shake). Just nasty. The other milkshake seemed ok. Of course, with the order being from DoorDash, it's near-impossible to get any real support, so it's just basically a total loss. I don't know if Fenton's just doesn't GAF, since they're always busy anyways, OR if they need to pay their employees more in order to attract the sort of person who's capable of being trained to care to do things correctly, but it's just really a bummer that such a neat, fun, old legacy business is allowing itself to disappoint customers and turn into a big mess like this. Sad.

They have some savior items too. Everything looked good and yummy. I had the churro parfait and it was amazing. The carmel apples were calling to go home with me but I took home only the apple cheescake and strawberry cheesecake ones, and the carmel apple with nuts for my bestie, yum. I truly hope this place branches out to more cities and possibly nation wide. Every city needs one. Now go and enjoy, you can thank me later.

Serving a wide range of carnival and fair foods, you'll definitely satisfy your sweet tooth cravings year-round. The husband and I ordered the Churro Parfait, Mini Funnel Cake, and Hand-Dipped Corndog. The Churro Parfait was delish with bite size churros mixed with their house-made cream, caramel, and fresh strawberries. The Mini Funnel Cake was yummy, as well. Loved how crispy yet chewy it was. Both the parfait and funnel cake were sweet, so the corndog and nachos helped to balance it out. All in all, staff and service was good. Portion sizes were shareable with my husband. A little pricey, but worth trying out if you're a fan of carnival food.
