A quick stop for something sweet and believe it or not, I lived nearby many moons ago when Cream first opened and never stopped in. Today being rainy day, I needed a sweet boost. There is a nice selection of bubble teas, lattes, flavored teas and cold brews and serve Stump town coffee. I was in the mood for a Brown Sugar Bubble Tea which they don't make but suggested Milk tea and for an extra $1, tapioca or Lychee jelly. The pastries, maybe since it was 5pm, looked lackluster. I've seen pictures of Doughnuts but there were none just a muffin and a Financier bow tie (?). The tea was brought to me and one sip I knew, this was not the best Bubble tea, lacked sweetness and frankly underwhelming. The coffee was so good! I got the salted caramel iced latte for myself and the pandan iced latte for my husband. The salted caramel wasn't too salty or too caramel-y, the flavors were really well balanced and the staff even offered to make it sweeter for me if needed since I had expressed I like sweet drinks. The pandan latte had a really unique, nutty flavor, while also being light and yet impactful. I've never tried anything like it. For how good the coffee tasted, this place was really well priced compared to some other cafes in the area with similar quality offerings. Staff were really nice and service was quick. It was so tough finding a sit down coffee spot in this area, believe it or not! Cream Coffee isn't the average cafe, but I do appreciate the seats inside. They had some unique sounding drinks! I got the Pandan Latte ($5.25 / $5.75) and it was the best drink I had in a while! I never really had Pandan much, but it was delicious and so creamy too especially with oat milk. Once I got to the bottom parts, the grassiness is further emphasized. My boyfriend got a fruit tea, but it tasted very artificial of syrup. Cream Coffee and Tea has been operating out of a walk-up window during the pandemic, and I love how convenient it is to drop by for a quick drink (and safe since all the customers are outdoors). I can't drink coffee, so I mostly stick to their tea drinks, which are really refreshing. The passion mango iced tea (sweetened with honey) is great on a hot day, and I love the nitro mango tea. It's just as smooth and sweet as when I had it at Whistle & Fizz, and perfect for summer. This place makes really good bubble tea and iced teas. There's a small outdoor space in the front (just 2 tables) and the inside is small, so it's more of a pick up and go type spot. The coffee and tea remain great and the staff continues to be nice and helpful. However, they've recently reopened their seating area in the back and it is nothing like it used to be. It's smaller and more cramped. And worst of all, during the 3 times I sat there, the area was mostly occupied by what seemed to be family members of the staff just hanging out and gossiping with the staff. Doing so was a great way to make me feel unwelcome, like I was interrupting a family gathering, even though the staff said it was OK for me to sit there with big smiles on their faces. Meaning, their words and actions didn't match up because they went on to ignore me because I wasn't one of the family. It also didn't help when the family's kids ran around, repeatedly bumping into me. If the family is all that's going to matter in the seating area, then don't open it to public, especially if they'll be treated as outsiders. I definitely won't go back to Cream's seating area since I am not really welcomed there and I also never saw any other guests sit there. It will also be a while before I go to their coffee window since I can't believe Cream has become like this since COVID. It's as if the public can get their drinks at the window, maybe at the counter. But family and close friends only get the seating area, like it's some private club. read more

Was craving for something sweet so my husband grabbed me some doughnuts on his way back. Third avenue is filled with bakeries and Cream Coffee Shop is one of the newer ones in the area. Tiny space filled up with four small tables and a bench. They have some sweets like doughnuts, and macarons, their limited menu also included coffee and tea. My husband got me four doughnuts and they all look fabulous, as of now I have only had the chance to try the Cafe Au Lait, can't eat all four! It was a bit greasy on the bottom, the glaze and the topping was a bit too sweet. The sizes of the fluffy doughnuts are bigger than average for $2.75 a piece. Thoroughly enjoyed my morning coffee run at this quaint and small coffee shop. Barista working the counter was energetic, helpful and sweet. Ordered a Mocha Latte and the Dulce De Leche Con Almonds donut. I sat down at one of the small tables with other patrons whom were all on their laptops (free wifi). Latte was the perfect balance of sweetness to chocolate flavor, though my donut was a tad too sweet for my taste. The almonds fell all over the table at each bite (I quickly clean my own mess), since it's so sweet I ask the counter girl to help me wrap the donut up to go. Clerk graciously used a plastic glove and handle my request with care, smiling all the way. Stumptown coffee is always good to have and their pastries are good as well. My go to is a simple iced jasmine tea with macadamia milk or their hazelnut orange tea with milk. The customer service has been really great both times I've ordered at Cream. I don't typically write Yelp reviews, but their amazing service has compelled me to draft one of "longer-than-most" length, which should hint at how good it actually is! Besides that, the fruit tea is delicious and not too sweet. Boba is soft (but not too soft) and the lychee jelly is yummy as well. They have a small selection of pastries. I ordered both a pastry and a large size drink with the total coming below most other independent coffee shops. Yay! Great place to work. I guiltily hogged a table to get some editing done, and the free Wi-fi/charging ports are a real blessing. The location is small, very comfortable and homey. I also almost missed my stop at the subway because I have been so focused at trying to make this review as good as what I think this shop deserves. Excellent espresso coffees and top notch matcha here! They have a bunch of non-dairy milks (soy, oat, etc) for an extra 50c, and I like that they have a picture of the brand so you can see, oh, they use this one and not that one. Friendly service and reasonable prices. The drinks have a much more balanced flavor profile here than at (for example) coffee rx and starbucks, where everything just tastes like sugar and the espresso is often over extracted. read more

Nutella Latte $4.50 (small) - Asked for something sweet and they suggested the salted caramel latte or nutella latte. I went with the cold nutella latte and it satisfied my sweet craving. Thanks for the suggestion! Staff here is extremely friendly and have have passion for what they do. They'll explain the menu in detail and allow you to customize your order to make it fit your taste buds. There's free WiFi and a small cozy area to sit. When in Brooklyn, prices should be cheaper. Cafe au lait small was $2.50 and latte was $4. Around a quarter cheaper than what you would expect to see in Manhattan coffee shops. Don't be fooled by the 2015 menu in the pictures, because those prices are no longer accurate. (I wish I came here when the cafe au lait was still 1.84!) This cafe is tiny, with 4/5 small wooden tables for you to do work if you so choose. It carries popular favorites such as dough donuts, melt's ice-cream sandwiches, and stumptown coffee. Everything here is solid, but it'd be nice if it was a taaadd bit cheaper - which is why I took away a star. They also have a stamp card which lessens the blow of their increased menu prices. 0:) read more
