Especially because a Regular scoop would cost a whopping $6 with $1 topping. Grand total of $7 for a standard portion and one topping?! No thank you. I got the scoop on the free ice cream grand opening today, and am really thankful for the Creamistry staff's hospitality in treating us. I am glad to have been able to check this new spot out, and I'm sure this location will do well for the many hot summer days in Texas. Wow these 1 star reviews are not lying. The employees lack professionalism.... We placed an order, one for me and one for my husband. My husband got his ice cream first, and 20 minutes later I got mine. Basically he ate his already by the time I received mine. The ice creams are not made in order received and staff does not seem to feel rushed in making their desserts. Counter top is dirty and everything seems unorganized. They have 3 mixers and only 1 is connected to the nitrogen tank.. which means they can create only 1 item at a time. I've never written a review on here before, but i feel as if this place warranted one. I would give this place one star, but the staff wasn't awful. Most were friendly except for the cashier who acted like we were bothering her. Much like everyone else, we waited over 40 minutes for two smalls. I could forgive this detail if the ice cream was even good. I got the s'mores but couldn't tell what it was actually supposed to be because the ice cream didn't have any discernable flavor. Okay. Wow. First off, this side of town is beautiful and high end. There is 3 hour parking in the garages around and some street parking if you are lucky. The atmosphere is very chill. Perfect for a night out or just time with the family and friends. You walk in to like this live magical science experiment. You get to watch them make everything from scratch and the smoke coming out like dragons breath is mesmerizing to all ages. You can choose dairy or non dairy and then whatever combo of ingredients you heart desires. They have some creations on their menu they have come up with and two of us went with some of those. We have a chocolate lover so she went classic. Then we have an Oreo lover so he went cookies and cream style. We are ice cream snobs. So they had a lot to live up to. It was crazy because not one of us was disappointed. The strawberry bond has cheesecake and strawberries in it and it was the perfect sweet. It wasn't too much at all. The vanilla bean was so so so smooth and good! My husband loves captain crunch so captains breakfast was perfect for him. He loved it. He doesn't even love ice cream, he is just a great sport and eats it because we love it. He raced about this the next morning even. The kids were very pleased and loved the others so much. They had no problem finishing it and that can sometimes happen. The line was long but it went quick and then they had plenty of people behind the counter to make sure everything got made in a timely fashion as well. Everyone loved it! At one point i was like man i wish we had one of these back home, but then the next second i realized my bank account was grateful it didn't because i could see this being a regular spot for us. For those that care about spending, it was more then we normally would spend for sure. We have a few specialty ice cream shops here at home that we expect to spend 20-30 at with our large family. Usually at least 5 of us. This spot we only had 4 eating and we spend almost 50 with tip. So that was a little steep. But it was so stinking good and we will be back for sure!!!! I UPDATE This is one of my favorite places whenever I'm in Texas, but they definitely dropped the ball today. For starters, I waited 15 minutes for my ice cream. I ordered the new key lime dessert and I expected it to be layered like the photo, but it wasn't. This was not a big deal, but when I finally received my order, it was awful. The ice cream had the texture of a melted marshmallow, just gross and I couldn't even eat it. Such a waste of time and money! I will now be looking for another dessert spot. I absolutely love this place! I ordered the premium black cherry ice cream with pecan topping. The ice cream is velvety smooth and sooo good! I'll definitely be stopping in when I visit Dallas again. The prices are pretty good considering the affluent area it's in. Upon walking in, the first thing you notice is how clean it is. The cashier was friendly and greeted me with a smile. This spot has been in the Water Street District since we moved to the area but for whatever reason, my partner and I never took the leap to give it a try. Last night we finally took the plunge and were glad we did. We ordered the Captain's Breakfast which comes with Captain Crunch ice cream, fresh banana slices, diced Strawberries, and Nutella. We also added a cheesecake topping with our Yelp check-in offer for one free extra topping. It was the perfect night to get the ice cream to-go and sit out on the Adirondack chairs which overlook the fountains/central square, and Lake Carolyn. My partner and I usually share sweets and try to limit our portions and I was confused about the sizes--will certainly share a medium rather than large in the future. We were also glad we opted out of whipped cream as it was plenty sweet already and we hoped forfeiting that might gain us a few more of the fresh fruit toppings;) I am also happy to report that our dessert was made to include some distribution of the toppings deeper in the cup which was really nice having them mixed throughout. read more

I came here knowing how pricey the ice cream was, so nothing shocked me there. However what did shock me was the level of customer service and upkeep in the store. The floor was sticky all over and every table had a giant mess all over it. Napkins were thrown all about the floor and it was almost laughable. Like it was so odd how cute the store looked on the outside and trashy in the inside. To top if off the staff wasn't very polite and responded very sassily if you asked questions about the ordering process. While I was there, I asked if they had an Ube flavor (one that is advertised on this exact Yelp page) and the cashier rolled her eyes and said no, then she proceeded to turn around and loudly ask the other employees "Wow why is this the third person today". I ended up ordering something else and it tasted yummy, but looked nothing like the picture or aesthetic advertised by the company. She also decided to leave out the fact that they ran out of whipped cream after I had paid for my ice cream. I'm going to be popping up at Creamistry locations all over the DFW area. I'm not kidding. If you are cutting back on dairy due to health challenges but you also love ice cream then Creamistry is prepared for you my friend. Your scoop, sundae or shake is custom made just for you. I ordered my Base from the menu section with non dairy, plant based, gluten free, vegan coconut or cashew. I selected a scoop of Coconut base $5.95 +$1.00 upcharge for going plant based. I selected mint flavor (great choice, it's delicious) and I added mini chocolate chips 50cents extra and whipped cream on top, another 50cents charge. $7.95 for the one scoop before tax. Creamistry is located in beautiful Las Colinas, across from Pax and Beneficia coffee. It's a charming location with a lake and fountain, and lots of free parking. I went on a Saturday night. It was pretty crowded, and wasn't really surprised to be told I had to wait 25 minutes. That's fine. I decided on a cookies n cream with oreo and cookie dough on top. It was super sweet, but creamy, delicious and a good amount of ice cream for the price. My hubby got the matcha with biscoff cookies, and finished it! So, why the 3 stars? The customer service was completely off. No greeting, just stoic teenagers making ice cream with a ruckus. Heavy metal music was playing and there were kitchen tools all around; it looked completely messy. I'm not usually one to be picky with customer service but it was off enough to leave a bad taste on a first impression.. and I would think you should be extremely friendly in a kids' place. Ice cream is a little harder/thicker than your average. I'm guessing its from the flash freeze. Its best if you sit it for a minute before consuming. Prices are outrageous. The cup was overfilled and the top was refrozen. So, once the sides and bottom started to melt, the ice cream started pouring out all over my hand, shorts, and legs. The top was hard to scoop because it was cold and sticky. It was a terrible experience. Maybe the milkshake would have been better ... First one salted caramel all we Got was the ice cream no waffle or drizzle. I told the person about it and there response was Ohhh... sorry I don't look at the ticket. Next one Chocolate with marshmallows and chocolate drizzle again all we got was the ice cream once again their response was 0HHH... Third ice cream was the coffee with the ice cream again all we got was the ice cream not the coffee they wasn't even aware that the ice cream comes with coffee. The staff was very unprofessional didn't care to fix it and just kept saying I don't know what the problem is. So when I asked the gentleman they gave us ice cream for an email or the managers number to file a complaint he said he cannot do that. Then gave me a number and when I called it right there at the store it was another employees number they answered it.I asked if she was a manager she said no and who gave me her number I told you then and the guy kept proceeding to say that she was a manager. Everyone in the store they didn't care they were annoyed to make our ice cream they did not let anybody know about social distancing or that they had to keep their mask on. The only downside is that it's not really price-friendly. We paid almost $8 for the Sea Salt Caramel for the regular size. It's a little too expensive for an ice cream in my opinion.
