Disappointing experience…read more Not a good experience Purchased an expensive wool and viscose area rug that was recommended by one of their designers. They neglected to inform me the material the rug is made of cannot be professionally cleaned. If it is cleaned it will never look as good as it did when it was new, and the overall quality will deteriorate much faster compared to a wool or synthetic rug. Evidently the viscose shrinks and the rug can shrivel. I found this out today when I scheduled professional carpet cleaners to come out to clean it. They refused to clean the rug. I have pets and the designer knew this. If I had known this I would have NEVER purchased the rug. I have also experienced issues with communication. I purchased a painting that ended up not working for me and asked if they had recommendations on where I could resell it. I never got a reply.

(She was VERY respectful about budget- she was frank about what spending less or more money would get us, and was honest about what budget was realistic or not, and for stuff that was over budget, provided great cheaper options) -- **If you can afford West Elm et al, you can afford Countrywood** and get even more bang for your buck in terms of quality. I'm sitting on COMFY GORGEOUS DOWN-FILLED COUCH CUSHIONS as I write this for the same price as a sofa with a thin piece of latex cushion from Article. -- Great, expert advice so you get colors, materials and construction that actually makes sense for your life, not just whatever is cool on Instagram Cons: This is actually more of an FYI. They work with a lot wholesale-only furniture brands that only sell through decorators/retail, and anything custom will take a few months(!!!) especially because of COVID. Shannon does know which options are easier/faster to get, but if you really fall in love with a certain piece, be prepared to wait. But honestly, I've read online reviews of people ordering West Elm for a chair, and it taking MONTHS with NO actual updates. 1/5 Stars - Avoid Ethan Allen at All Costs: $4000 for a Broken Dresser?…read more I'm writing this review as a warning to others: beware of Ethan Allen's poor quality products and appalling customer service. We spent $4000 on a bedroom set, only to receive a dresser that was severely damaged. The issues include: - Large gouges and scratches on the surface - A busted drawer that doesn't function properly - Peeling wood finish When we complained and sent the dresser back, we expected a hassle-free replacement or refund. Instead, they've repeatedly sent the same broken dresser, ignoring our concerns and gaslighting us into thinking there's nothing wrong with it. It's been incredibly frustrating to deal with this situation, especially given the high cost of the furniture. I'm still left without a complete bedroom set and feel ripped off. Unless you enjoy dealing with broken products and unhelpful customer service, I would strongly advise against shopping at Ethan Allen.

Marsha Lucas, their interior designer at the time, did all my living space, which I am really happy with. She really worked well with me accommodating my preferences. Their customer service is top-notch. One of my counter stools had a small tear in the leather when they delivered, and they promptly took care of it while being fully communicative along the process. The reason for only rating at a 3 however is because their furniture is not of the highest quality any longer. The quality was top-notch many years ago, and you could justify the very hefty price-tag. Not anymore. These days most of their furniture is made in China, and I see MDF used in good measure, instead of real wood (the quality is reminiscent of Pottery Barn furniture now). EA however chose to retain the very hefty price tags for such poor quality furniture. Good luck to them keeping up with competition, with their current business model. Luxury furniture brands have furniture that is far more reasonably priced (for the quality) than Ethan Allen. I won't be buying from Ethan Allen anymore.

She came out and not only confirmed the color that I was leaning towards but also helped to make design decisions I would not have thought about otherwise. For example I have a bluish marble fireplace that did not look fantastic with the main warm color we chose so she suggested to tweak it a bit. Not only does that wall now look great even with the fireplace but it matches all the other walls perfectly. We decided to call Tamara and she helped us get the stand out look we were going for. After visiting our home and taking into consideration the landscaping around our house, the style of the other homes on our Cul-de-sac and even the back drop of Mt Diablo in the far distance behind our house, she selected a pallet of 5 colors for the different trim, doors, eaves, fascia boards, and main color.
