I should have been more aware of the fact that hiring a company who claim "The Most Affordable, Low Cost Hardwood Flooring in Chicago", just means you get what you pay for. I'll spare you the details, but everything they did was wrong and had to be redone by a more professional team. We've had no less than a dozen different contractors at our house this year, and this was the only company we had problems with that we couldn't resolve. We had two small projects, the first was a pretty basic tiling job - subway tile for the kitchen backsplash. It looks so terrible! Johnny even agreed it looked awful, but tried to blame it on the tiles being warped. It's shameful he thought I would buy that. When I showed him that the tiles were flat, he tried to blame it on our walls. No accountability, poor ethics, and just embarrassing overall. They also messed up our bathroom by incorrectly mixing the epoxy grout (see photos for proof of the grout since he tries to argue it in his response below). Instead of mixing all of the two part epoxy together as the directions stated, they eyeballed the proportions. They didn't add enough hardener, so the grout will never cure. He refused to fix the issue correctly, even after acknowledging the mistake, so we had to hire someone else to tear it out and redo it. Even if the grout was properly mixed, there was an incredible amount of spots where the grout is missing, there was thin slip showing throughout, and the pattern was inconsistent. Finally, there was a total mess left, grout stains on the counter, white residue all over patio that won't wash off, and bags of trash left. I really can't believe how careless and unprofessional they were. While Jonny did agree to refund us what we paid him for the cost of labor for the bathroom tile, we are out the money we spent for them to install the kitchen tile, regardless of how bad it looks, and he would not reimburse us for the tile and grout and that we paid for that his team incorrectly installed. We had a big job that involved replacing old "V-groove" farm style wood floors in the kitchen, mud room and bathroom and then stripping the office, dining room and living room. Creative floors refinished our floors. They were not done properly so they immediately came to refinish them. When it was done I noticed it was a totally different color than the sample they had showed. They insisted they used the correct color even though multiple pictures indicated otherwise. Since having to have the floors sanded down twice, because of their initial mistake, our floors are much more creaky and we have several broken floor boards that were not there before they did the job. The finished product did look nice but it's not what we asked for and it left the floors very compromised because they had to be double sanded. Customer service was also very terrible. However, we did also have carpet done with this company, very good quality, good price and great installers. All flooring was purchased at the same time or else we probably would have cancelled the carpet due to how upset we were were the wood, but I'm glad at least one part turned out as expected. read more

OCT 2021. This is actually the second time that I have used Creative floors. So that speaks volumes. I purchased flooring from them for a portion of my house last year, and then again this fall I had them refinish my red oak floors in a natural finish. They were even able to fix some squeaky boards. The work was fantastic, I just love my new floors, and recommend Creative floors to help you as well. I will definitely be hiring them again for some basement flooring this coming spring. Extremely disappointed...Johnny only came to the house to give me the estimate. Never returned to see how the job was progressing or would he agree to see the job on completion. When I expressed to him I was dissatisfied with the color stain, and I wanted him to come to the house and look at it. He said he was too busy. He became very rude and inflammatory. I had his final payment for him to come get upon his return to see the stain issue. He refused to come to my house to get the final payment and in turn the next day said he was filing a lien on my property, and this is only after a few weeks upon completion. I have never in my life dealt with someone so unprofessional. His workers may be nice but it is very difficult to discuss the work progress because they either don't speak any english or very little. read more
