We were shown samples of Mohawk carpet at our house and we chose "Homefront 3" (the highest quality) but we were deceived and forced to accept an inferior quality but same color carpet to be installed. We also asked them verbally and in writing many times to bring the same samples shown to us before at our house along with the carpet we chose to be installed first before the installation so that we can match what we chose and we would be getting, but this highly rude owner (David Simon) of this company not only refused to do so as per agreement but also compelled us to come to his showroom again and see the sample and the carpet there which made no sense because he could have shown us any thing to there which did not mean that we would be getting the same carpet we chose to be installed at hour house. But having no choice and paying half money in advance in cash (he preferred to be paid by cash) we went to his showroom and he showed a small (about 8X10 feet) piece of carpet of the same color with no manufacturer's specification on it which seemed lesser in thickness and quality, so we refused to accept it. At that point he started yelling at us and he was very disrespectful with my wife. When we demanded our money back, not only he refused to do so but also challenged us to do whatever we can. We left his showroom with disappointment and regret why we chose to do business with this company. Having no choice again, we decided to accept the inferior quality carpet he was trying to sell. So, my wife called him to agree with him, but at this point he was more ruder and dictatorial and said that he does not trust us (we are senior citizens) and if we have to install the carpet I do not know when it would be installed but if we agree to do so. you have to pay the remaining half money in advance in cash. This was another violation of the sales agreement (by way the the sales agreement this company wrote for us without our consent has no terms and conditions on it in case either party defaults or want to cancel or to seek amendment in it). We felt like a hostage at this point and kept thinking what to do to get out of this enforced mess on it. Finally we requested an attorney from a church to seek help. This attorney is a nice man but very old and retired an we did not know his license was inactive and not able to take this company to court. He was of no help and for some reasons spoke in favor of this mighty company and told us to avoid being sued by this company. Now it is more than two months this company is not only holding our money illegally but demanding more money and threatening to sue us because he knows it is going to cost us more to go to court, and when as matter of fact neither this company ever delivered and installed the carpet we chose at our house nor even followed the flawed sales agreement it wrote for us. For some reasons there are many reviews in favor of this company but please read the reviews of a few victims of this company specially when it comes the review Ms. Nancy S. The company's name should have been our first red flag--"Trend Carpet & Tile" doesn't even mention hardwood floors, which isn't their specialty. My advice: look elsewhere. We worked with Sarah, the daughter of the owner, who lives in our neighborhood. She was not helpful when I first reached out with concerns. She told me their floors had a one-year warranty and there was nothing they could do. I then asked her to involve the flooring product company to inspect the floors, and invited her to come see the issue in person, as she had only seen photos. She never followed through. I suggested that the product they used might be defective, as the problems had worsened over the last year, but no action was taken. To make matters worse, we began noticing issues just 90 days after installation similar to what we see now. The installer, Andrew, dismissed our concerns and claimed it was normal. However, the problems continued to get worse. Sarah from Trend blamed our household for using a Roomba, having pets, and having children, all of which she claimed caused the issues. I told her that whatever products they used weren't durable enough for a typical household if that is what did the damage. She even went as far as blaming our use of Bona Floor Cleaner, which is non-toxic and widely recommended product with no complaints that I could find showing it damaged floors. Trend Carpet & Tile never specified the duration of their warranty or provided guidance on what floor cleaners to use or avoid. I never expected to need a floor refinishing just two years after installation! The photos clearly show that 30-40% of the floors look like now. They have large greyish/white patches where the finish has failed or warn off prematurely. These issues are not caused by a Roomba or cleaning products, but by a faulty product that Trend Carpet & Tile isn't want to stand behind. The VP of the company, Sara, was rude and only friendly when there was a sale to be made or a check to be collected. She seemed more focused on attracting new customers than resolving issues with existing ones. Despite their website "Customer Satisfaction statement" they did nothing to make things right with us. Buyer beware!!

We were so impressed by DeSitter's customer service! The…read morecarpet we ordered turned out to be flawed. Although it was marketed specifically as good for homes with pets, stains couldn't be cleaned. When we tried, we ended up with an even darker stain. DeSitter sent the cleaners they use to try to clean it, at no cost. The cleaners couldn't spot-clean it either. They were so perplexed that Steve DeSitter himself came out to look at it. Everyone agreed that this carpet was a lemon. DeSitter asked the manufacturer to replace it. The manufacturer refused. The cleaning problem kept recurring. So DeSitter contacted the manufacturer again to challenge their decision - and this time the manufacturer agreed to replace it! DeSitter sent their excellent installers to remove the flawed carpet and install the new one. We've had no pet accidents yet, but our fingers are crossed. They also gave me a $50 gift certificate. I can't imagine a big box retailer sticking with a problem like this. I will for sure use DeSitter next time we need flooring or carpet!

After showing them a picture with residual tile grout I was told $1500. A man from Dorion came to measure, and indicated that the job could be completed for much less. Yet when they provided the official estimate, it was back to $1500. I was able to find a company to level the floor and install the vinyl sheet for under $300 plus the cost of the vinyl. Was it because I am a senior citizen? Was it because I am a woman? Whatever the reason, I can only assume they were trying to take advantage of me.
