Update: I got a mani (dip) pedi (gel) today. It took a little 3 hours because they were busy and they also had to redo my left hand twice. I heard that one step was accidentally missed so some of my nails weren't drying but I'm not really sure what happened. They did a great job on the shape and length, and they also spent the time to fix my nails when the paint wasn't drying. The color is much lighter than the photo I showed them, but I like the result anyway. Next time I go in I'll try a darker dip color. *Appointment only during COVID, should be easy to do. I had to take the opportunity to get my nails did since I was in the area already and my regular nail lady is still closed. Based on the number of reviews and photos, I figured this place was the go-to. It's right off El Camino Real so don't miss it! Parking is on the street and right on El Camino Real. Masks are required and they have hand sanitizer on every desk and door. Customers are not allowed to wait inside. The pedicure seats are covered in plastic and they have a stand-up pixie glass between seats. I decided to get an overlay, which I usually get at my original place. Hailey suggested using dip instead of acrylic for numerous reasons. I have gotten colored dip before and just personally did not like it as it made the nail a little more clumpy. I decided to give the dip a try this time as it was just to the cover of the nail, not the actual color. Hailey did a great job executing my inspo picture but had limited highlighter gel polish. Perhaps it was my bad, but not until the end did I notice that the nail shape was too wide at the tip. I asked for almond shape which it was just a little wider than I wanted. It was too late to file without having to do the whole set again. Oh well. The pedicure was quick and I wish they scrubbed a little longer. The tub was lined with plastic. I don't know if I was being paranoid but the lady didn't change her gloves after doing another customer's feet. Granted the feet are clean, but still, I think she should've changed them. The overall price was $95! That's the most expensive I've ever paid for nails. It was a full set and a regular pedicure! Maybe it was the area that I was in, I guess Peninsula is bougie. Or maybe it's because it's COVID and it's not that busy so they're surcharging? Anyway, I'll probably come back here if my normal nail salon isn't open yet and if I'm in the area. I made an appointment for this nail salon because the reviews and photos looked great. I arrived 15 minutes early and was ready to wait, but since there were no customers, they sat me right away. Helen was doing my nails and she was doing a great job. I was speaking with the manager and she seemed very nice as well. Another customer came in and was also helped right away, there are only two seats at a table for gel/acrylic manicures. Then another customer came in and said she had an acylic appointment in about 10 minutes. Helen was in the middle of painting my base coat for my gel mani when this worker named Jenny came and took over for painting my nails. Jenny rushed my paint job and did it so quickly. There are bubbles, bumps, and streaks in my nails and she didn't get all the corners because she was rushing to get the next customer seated (keep in mind the other customer came early). It took her maybe 5-6 minutes to paint my hands, which is really quick for gel. There was no reason for her to rush on my job when I wouldv'e been done soon anyway. AND its only been 2 days and I already have a chip in my nails. I want to give this place a second chance because I think if Helen continued to do my nails, it wouldv'e been much nicer and done properly. read more

I miss Brittany. Was hoping it would be the same but def not. I had the mani pedicure and one woman did my toes, another did my hands. She didn't give me a massage which is sort of a given with any pedicure? She just rubbed lotion on with no pressure. As for the pedicure, no massage at all. Other places do a small massage on hands and feet which Brittany used to do. Plus the girl was very nice who did my hands but she kept getting polish on my skin and having to correct it. I had a pedi here at the recommendation of my DIL who thought the establishment was scrupulously clean in our post-shutdown but unfortunately not Covid-free days. It is. They're not currently taking walk-ins so as not to overcrowd the salon. Every station was clean, foot soaking tubs lined, manicurists and clients masked. Bathroom immaculate. I only had a pedicure so can't evaluate all services but an efficient pedi was had. I think the young woman who did it was perhaps new as the shop owner checked out the job carefully and suggested (I think because they spoke a different language) a third coat of the white polish I brought, which was done. Any "over-splash" was carefully removed. Nails sparkling. It wasn't a leisurely and relaxing treatment. That was partially because I wanted in and out treatment (Covid), and I didn't notice a menu of pedi services as many salons have - paraffin, callous treatment, additional massage minutes, etc. No one offered/asked questions that indicated to me options were available. Though appointments are currently a must, whereas previously walk-ins were welcomed, you don't need more than a same day call to make an appt. So if you're looking for a good, safe, reliable pedi in a quiet and clean space, I think you can come here without hesitation and leave looking good. read more

An update to my update: my devastation over Brittany's transfer of ownership has turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I have been to the new salon a handful of times already and am never disappointed with my service. They always do such a fantastic job and I get compliments on my nails everywhere I go. The new owner, Haley, is even more patient and caring and my man, "T," will bring your Instagram/Pinterest dreams to reality. I've seen Haley take the time to fix a broken nail from a two week old manicure and even, on occasion, buy a specific color for a client. Overall: beautiful nail job so I can see why they have great reviews but not so great service I'm very happy with the results of the nails but I was cringing during my appointment. When the nail tech went to get water to soak my nails, she went to rearrange the garbage bag as well and DIDN'T wash her hands. She proceeded to work on my nails after touching the trash bag. Wonderful. She did a great job filing my nails though. I definitely scrubbed the crap out of my hands after the appointment. I had asked for four colors, I know it's a lot but I was going for a look for my sister's wedding. But I guess the owner didn't realize that I am also part Vietnamese so I understood what she had said under her breath after I said I wanted four colors. It's something along the lines of this is annoying. So the entire time I just felt super uncomfortable. She definitely painted it beautifully though. The "massage" was basically rubbing oil on my hands and I think I would have preferred to opt out. It didn't add anything to the experience. Hailey killed it on the dip/gel mani!! I'm so glad I found this salon. We do 3 layers of dip powder and then 3 layers of gel for color (I'm really hard on my nails!) and they're beautiful after 3 weeks! This salon is one of the few in the area that does dip manis and they're amazing. My real nails have been able to grow out finally and I don't need tips anymore. I've also gotten a pedi here (so affordable) and those are great, too. Hailey is also great about scheduling and keeps in touch if there's an opening.
