This place is so popular! The first time I came, there was a long line and it was entirely packed haha. I was able to get in this time (Sunday, 10:30 am). I opted for their quiche (you can choose between ham/brie, spinach/feta, and goat cheese/green garlic...I chose the last one) and salad. The fork met virtually no resistance as it pierced this lovingly presented quiche, yet it does not crumble into pieces! It is very light yet bursting with flavor. Tasty! Their salad seems to have a lemon + vinaigrette kind of dressing that is not overpowering, so it's refreshing. They have so many windows that allow for a nice outside view of even more seating and nice trees! Friendly staff too! I'm glad I got to experience this and will try their other dishes next time. Ordering was a bit of a pain with the crowded line and the Karens walking right up to the register, slowing things down and generally inserting themselves into everyone's life. The staff, however, are quick and professional and keep things moving as fast as they can while remaining courteous and helpful. The egg salad toast is spectacular but, again, quite expensive for what's on the plate. The veggie sandwich was also good and made with very nice ingredients, but it's $18 and will leave you hungry. Judged purely in the basis of food quality, this would be 5 stars. But considering the investment in time, money, and patience that Creekside Bakery demands, it's just not somewhere I'd likely return to. read more

My favorite place to get an iceed matcha! The first time I tried Creekside, I was offered to put cinnamon in it. Awesome recommendation by the barista, Alejandro. The matcha is incredible and so is the cheese danish. I come here at least once of week for my matcha. The workers are nice and friendly, and seem to be familiar with their customers. The patrons as well are friendly, I have never struck up so many conversations while waiting in line for a beverage. They close at 3pm, which makes the time it's open even all the better. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The area outside is nice and quiet, and has some trees and little bridge behind it. A good place to come by yourself and bring some friends. read more

Let me start by saying I LOVE this place and the food here. The only reason I'm giving it 3 starts is to bring attention to the fact they have some food on top of the counters where anyone can touch it. The apple pies are out for display right when you walk in. These pies are for sale and literally anyone can just touch it when they walk by. The other tray they have is a delicious looking item that I initially wanted to order. That is until I noticed it's sitting right on the counter where people order their food and drinks. Am I the only one who finds it gross and unsanitary how people's little spit droplets can spray on the food while they order? This can't be proper safe food handling practices. In the photo you can see a customers arm reaching over all the food to point to the one she wants. Who knows what particles may drop from her clothing into your food. I decided against ordering this item because of this. Other than that I absolutely adore this place. Fantastic service!! I went in yesterday for two cupcakes and a slice of Princess Cake for a small celebration of a beloved ones birth. The service was great! The two people I interacted with both had masks on, and were friendly; I could see their smiles in their eyes. Creekside was busy, even close to closing time; and I was grateful to get in and out as fast as I did. I often skip this place because of the long lines and many staff don't wear masks during this pandemic. The strawberry cupcake was good, the frosting was flavorless, but the strawberry was fresh and sweet, and the cake was good. The Princess Cake was well loved by the person who ate it - I'm going to head back over this week for a slice for myself. I truly appreciate businesses (food industry especially) where their staff care about the health and safety of others, and the two I interacted with were thanked for wearing masks. read more

We had the most difficult time connecting with bakeries looking for a simple wedding cake. Most never returned my message. I contacted Creekside via their online form. I received an email within a day saying the baker would contact me. I waited for 3 days and decided to call instead. I ordered a simple strawberry shortcake cake but asked for it to be 2-tiered. I wanted it simple, with only some fresh strawberries. They created the most perfect cake for us. It was understated, and fit exactly our vision. The cake was delicious! Every guest remarked how this was by far the best cake they ever had at any wedding. Thank you Creekside for that !! When we picked up the cake I realized why they were slow in returning my message. It was because they are swamped with customers. It is obvious that what they are doing is perfect as there was barely a seat left, both in- and outdoor. Cute and cozy place. Doesn't look like anything special on the outside but it's quite pretty inside. I came in on a Thursday around 10:30am and the tables inside were mostly taken. They have individual and communal tables so it works well. The staff is very friendly and had good recommendations on what pastries to get to go :) The coffee is ok but nothing out of this world (I'm a heavy coffee drinker so if you are not too picky with coffee, don't listen to me - it is a solid cup) - worth mentioning I got a cappuccino with Oat milk. The salmon toast was INCREDIBLE. I still think it's a bit pricey since it's just one toast ($16) but it's definitely delicious. It seems like it's a popular item as many seating inside were eating it. Definitely full of flavor. I'd definitely come here again. I'll bring my husband with me next time :) read more

This bakery and brunch spot nestled into a quiet part of Novato is such a nice treat for someone who doesn't go up to the northwest bay often! It's very popular with locals and unfortunately the two dishes I wanted to try were sold out by noon so I'd recommend going early. The dishes I got to try were great though, especially the sandwich buns and the biscuits (it is a bakery after all!) They also had their seasonal Christmas drink menu out and the hot cinnamon apple cider and hot chocolate with caramel marshmallow were so cozy and delicious. I only tried the baked goods so that why I might not have had the best experience but I felt they were mostly sugar. Over two weeks I got a Coconut Macaroon, Snickerdoodle, Ginger Snap, Pumkin Crinkle, Lemon Lavender Cookie, Flourless Chocolate Cake Slice, and a Pumpkin Cheesecake Slice. I keep returning to this place when I want a good, creative, seasonal brunch. Pastries are to die for. But they run out pretty fast! By noon, the case on a Saturday is almost empty. The prices are on par to other bakeries. They also are a cafe serving coffee drinks, sandwiches, and salads. The staff throughout the years have been sweethearts. Staff has provided excellent customer service even if there was a line building up; they gave me no attitudes or agitatedly rushed me. My favorite thing to order are their cookies... and they have a huge variety. I also like their bear claws and danishes but those sell out quick for the day. The chocolate torte cake is divine, I had a slice of that a few weeks ago. It was decadent without the sweetness overload. read more

Also ordered the fig toast which was full of gorgeous ripe figs on top of ricotta. The toast was a touch to hard, but the figs were just perfect. Z I recently was watching a cooking show and they were making princess cakes. I had never heard of them, so when I saw the bakery case full of princess cakes I got excited. Even more so when they had some by the slice. Just had to try it. It's a layered sponge cake, with a layer of jelly, pastry cream, whip cream and covered in marzipan. They have a very interesting lunch menu that changes slightly now and then, but the staples are always there. Everything is delicious, but one of our go to sammies is the vegetarian sandwich - with pickled onion, sprouts, avocado, and other veggies - we add turkey or ham :) and it's amazing every time. A little tangy, full of flavor. The levain toasts are all delicous, too. My favorite is the asparagus toast, but it's rarely on the menu, so if you see it, order it. The asparagus has a slight crunch, but not undercooked. It sits on the crunchy levain with a layer of burrata, topped with micro greens and a lovely chili aioli - I think that was the right description. It feels like every person there puts their heart and soul into the food, coffee, baked goods, and service. The staff is always welcoming, smiling, helpful. The indoor dining area is pleasant - small, but not crowded. They have a very nice and sizeable outdoor area, which is always our preference. Highly overpriced, don't bother. Okay bakery, for Novato probably one of the better ones around. But Nugget desserts are far superior and cost a lot less. Rustic bakery, quiches, and Scones and breads for this price point I would say is far more exceptional and unique. And now we have Blue barn for even better sandwiches and salads.
