Generally the service and food were excellent. We were there two evenings in a row last week for meals with different couples. This might be the best American restaurant in the area. The steaks we had were excellent and that's saying a lot for Texas. The sides and dessert were good too. Ditto for night two. I recommend the filet and chicken fried steak. Order wasn't exactly right. Sauce and pasta were less than they had been previously....but fairly tolerable.

First time here, we ordered the crab stuffed mushrooms, when she brought them out she warned us they were hot. We quickly found out they were only warm, didn't taste the crab at all and the mushrooms could of been cooked longer, also not much cheese. The sauce was plentiful and had a great flavor. I ordered the Eggplant parmasean, the eggplant was thinly sliced and crispy, which I liked, I'm not a fan of red sauce I will normally order pink sauce instead, but the sauce was pretty good. It came with choice of soup or salad, I had the Ceasar, the only disappointment was they put mozzarella cheese instead of fresh Parmasean. Husband had meatball sub with fries and he said it was pretty good, he ate it so I guess it was. The bread they bring out was excellent especially dipped in the sauce that came with the mushrooms. They didn't have the Creme Brulee so pretty disappointed about that, as we like to try things at new places. It's also BYOB. I'm sure we will try it again. read more

We have tried this restaurant twice and both times have been let down. Tried the catfish the 1st time with shrimp. Dried out and not tasty . Second visit tried some Italian , chicken was like leather and sauce was sweet. Not impressed at all for the price. Also don't order the Calamari, so salty. So sad !! I started out liking this place. But it's just not consistent. Long story short Cobb salads are not really Cobb salads there basically glorified house salad with cucumber and they ask if you want to add blue cheese. They also take sliced tomatoes and quarter them. It's just not a Cobb anymore... My thing is consistency... I'm glad to know that we got dressing this time but they also forgot the chicken on a salad. And the ranch is thick and disgusting. The lasagna layers are poor and thin. Had lunch here today for the first time. The place is simple but charming just as well. The menu was simple and had very nice choices which I had trouble choosing from. I had the chicken fried steak which was fantastic! My side was the bourbon buttered carrots and side salad with cherry balsamic dressing! My friend ordered the BLT with a sunny side up fried egg. We are new to the are and decided to give this place a try. We just orderedthe food to go today on a Sunday evening. I had the Blackened Redfish with carrots and potatoes. My husband had the Chicken fried steak. His food was bland with no seasoning and my food was just ok. Some if my carrots were hard some were soft. We've tried eaten here three times and all three times we have been disappointed. It doesn't seem to matter who owns or manages this place, they just can't pump out a decent meal to save their lives. On our most recent visit we were served the worlds smallest salads, some kind of bitter (I'm guessing store bought) ranch dressing, cold and unstrained mashed potatoes, and very bland steaks. I will give credit where credit is due and say the service was very friendly and the steaks were at least cooked right. Not worth it for the price point until they figure some things out. And couldn't stop talking about it! -waitress offered to give an "extra" side due to menu confusion -cute restaurant cons: -menu clearly states entrees get soup or salad and the tilapia is in the entree menu, under tilapia it says it comes with mash potatoes and veggies. When it came it did not include the mash potatoes, when I enquired I was told it's 2 sides no salad so they basic subbed the salad for the potatoes. This is NOT what the menu states. need to redo the menu! Waitress offered to bring potatoes so I wasn't upset, just confused. I declined. -veggies were dripping in butter. I couldn't eat more than a bite! Gross! I eat healthy and there's so few healthy options on the menu, why why why would you make one of the few supposedly healthy items so disgustingly bad for you??? I had even enquired how much butter was in the mash potatoes before I ordered, saying I don't want butter that I eat healthy. I literally soaked a napkin in the veggie grease. read more

Being new to Texas we took off this afternoon up Azle way to "check things out". We decided to look for a restaurant. On 'Yelp' Pat saw the Creekside Grill so we set off to try it. At 10400 S. FM 730 about 4 miles south of Azle, we did not find a creek :-) but we found a nearly new large building on the east side of the road we found Creekside Grill. Open 5-9 on Thursday-Friday and 12-9 Sat-Sun, it was great. Steakhouse menu with chicken, steak, and chops and other items. The food was excellent and the price was VERY reasonable. Probably the best chicken fried chicken I have ever eaten. Very clean place. And Mrs. Stewart, owner was very welcoming and friendly. We WILL go back. read more

Creekside Grill is one of our favorite restaurants. Great food and great service! We went on Friday for lunch and we both had the catfish. Wow! The best catfish around here! The mashed potatoes and brown gravy is so good and fresh green beans....WOW!!! Olyvia was our server and she was awesome! Extremely friendly! She usually works on Wednesday, Fridays and Saturdays so be sure to ask for her area. We went again yesterday for dinner and shared the shrimp and steak. It was a very flavorful! We are really loving this place! Very close to home and reasonable prices. They do not serve alcohol but you can BYOB! read more

We ate here for lunch this past weekend and it was very good. My husband had the mushroom burger and said it was one of the best burgers he's had! I had the Cobb salad with grilled chicken and it was delicious. The blue cheese dressing was so so, but not terrible. My son had the kids spaghetti and meatballs and he ate it up! We have enjoyed our meals at Creekside in the past, so we were looking forward to introducing our son and daughter in law to the food there tonight. Last night, a major storm blew through and so the restaurant was having internet difficulties all evening. I totally understand that and we also understood when it took longer than usual to get our meals. Unfortunately, the internet not working doesn't explain our waiter's lack of attention. My daughter in law didn't like her meatloaf and said the gravy tasted off. She also ordered mixed vegetables, but wasn't given them. Our waiter was too busy chatting with a couple of tables on the other side of the room. By the time anyone bothered to notice us, we had finished our meals and my daughter in law was ready to leave. Sigh. Very disappointing especially since it was a hefty bill. I let the lady server know that we weren't happy with the food or the service. She made excuses for our server - the internet. Then gave us a free small container of soup which we didn't ask for. It may be a while before we bother to go back. Don't get the meatloaf. The steaks are generally very good as are the chicken dishes. Don't go when it is super busy either. They could use a few more servers on staff. read more

Just had the worst chicken fried steak, ever. Obviously purchased pre-breaded and frozen. Fried in old oil, gravy made with same funky ok. Everything topped with a sprinkle of Leary's Seasoned Salt which made matters worse ; extra salted. I'm new in the area and decided to try Creekside Grill for lunch this afternoon. I went there keen to try the chicken fried steak but ended up with chicken parm at the server's behest. I'll start off by saying it is a good value for your money. It was a lot of food for the price and I didn't walk away hungry. The quality of the chicken was not the best, but it wasn't poor quality either. Just OK. The marinara sauce was strange though. It had a flavor I couldn't quite pinpoint. Like Fennel, or perhaps star anise. It was a little funky, but I got over it. The salad was your average iceberg house salad and was expected. It was literally drowning in dressing though. Still tasty, but way too much dressing. Ask for it on the side. All in all it was an OK experience. I'll go back for sure and try the chicken fried steak. The table next to me got it and it looked pretty darn good and homeboy at the whole thing so it had to be at least decent. 3 out of 5, will return. read more

We do not live very far from this restaurant, but we stopped going when it was the steakhouse because of poor quality food and food service. However, we were pleased to find out that Alba's Italian Restaurant, formerly on Boat Club Road, had moved their restaurant to this new location. We have gone there multiple times during the weekends and weekdays, and we have never had a bad meal or service here. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and not one server takes care of your needs. Other staff stops by to ask if you need anything or just to clear the table. We love going to this place, and we don't have to drive into town to get a great meal. read more
