Stopped at Creekside for a bite to eat. We had visited the Cave Spring GA wanted to grab something to eat before the long drive home. I'm glad we picked Creekside Restaurant. i hachbrif burger, which I can't recommend highly enough. The side potatoes were good too. T got the smoked meatloaf with hpuse tater salad and the Creekside spinach. He had nothing but compliments and cleaned his plate. We will stop in here again next we are through Cave Springs.

Appetizer... just plain shredded dry chicken and dry pimento cheese.

Father's Day... we decided to take a mini road trip and go to Cave Springs... we've passed thru headed home from Alpharetta several times but it's always after dark and late so we have never had a chance to see anything. This restaurant appeared to be the only one open so we decided to try it. Our server was attentive in the beginning and then pretty much forgot about us after seating us, getting our drink orders, and bringing our food. We had to ask Carla, who was definitely on the ball, for drink refills and pretty much for anything we asked. It wasn't crowded - especially with social distancing. We were really disappointed in the food overall. Ordered the chik salad and pimento cheese appetizer since we'd not had breakfast or lunch and it was close to 3 PM. It was really just plain dry shredded cheese and dry pimento cheese with some wilted lettuce and a basket of crackers. We ordered the fried cod and fried shrimp meal but only received the cod and had to ask for the shrimp which came some time later - the sides were macaroni & cheese and pinto beans... the fish and shrimp had a good taste... the mac & cheese and pinto beans were unremarkable... no seasoning, no taste. Reminded me of being in a nursing home with elderly people who can't have anything but bland, dull food. We also ordered a ribeye steak with grilled shrimp, a side salad, and mashed potatoes. The steak was very tender but was heavily seasoned and really salty tasting... too much! The mashed potatoes had no seasoning. We had to ask for salt and pepper to try and make the sides edible. The side salad had blueberries, strawberries, green & red grapes, cucumbers, red & yellow peppers, fresh tomatoes, and wilted brown lettuce! Sad because it could have been a really good salad! The blue cheese dressing was homemade they said and good. Overall, very disappointed, especially for the price of $71 before tip! The steak must have been super expensive because the other food items were fairly priced. There were no prices listed on the menu for steaks... just a note to ask about them... they only serve NY strips and ribeyes. We weren't actually given a ticket at the table, just told to go to the register and pay... the owner runs the register and just adds up your ticket by looking at the hand written order. He uses a POS system like most others do these days... he did ask if we wanted a receipt but at that point, why? The owner talked to us a couple of times and is very nice but they need to work on their food. They haven't been open very long... 2018 I believe he said and they closed for a month due to covid. Hoping they make it but they will have to improve on the taste of their food, especially for the prices they charge.

I was giving her and she asked me is everything OK? I asked her where is the other half of my sandwich she looked at it. And replied " well I don't know. I wondered why they only gave you half a sandwich, but it does have 3 pieces of bread in it." At this point another waitress came over the first waitress asked why did they give him a half a sandwich? The second waitress replied I just think that's how they're doing things now. The first waitress that asked me, would you like the rest of your sandwich?? I replied yes that would be great So off to the kitchen, she went and 15 minutes later comes my other half Apparently, this is their way of saving money. If you only give the customer half of what they order and try to pass it off as a full order. Employees are definitely not over enthusiastic to wait on you or to be very personable at all. Overall, pretty dissatisfying experience will definitely not be stopping by again

Waitress took our drink orders a bit of a wait but ok.we already knew what we wanted when we sat down. She dropped them off did not ask if we were ready went to next table yapped with them for 5 min. But ok. Here is when things start going to far she took their drink orders then asked if they were ready to order. Then walked past us twice we had to call her over. When my husband called her out on it she said well they knew what they wanted. We told her so did we. So we ordered our pizza. A large Pepperoni and extra cheese with ham and peppers on just half. Well after an hour the table next to us had got their food eaten got three refils on their tea we stopped her and asked whereour food was. She said on the way came back 5 min later . Pizza cool but ok temp wise. She ordered us an extra lg pizza with pepparoni extra cheese ham and peppers . Instead of half ham and pepper when we brought it to her attention she said we did not say half. We kept it even though I "hate" peppers cause I was very hungry and he is diabetic with his sugar dropping. And in all this time she had not offered to fill our drinks. We finished our meal had to stop another waitress and ask for a box and bill finally got those paid and left no tip for her not somthing I do but tip is pay for service you don't give any you don't get any.The service given by Kaydance was some of the worst I have ever had. We did not know there was a pub crawl for St Patty's day happening on the day of our reservation. We were the first to be seated in the restaurant since it opened at 5:00. Once we sat down we found out there was a limited dinner menu. The waitress took our drink order right away, but it took 20 minutes for the drinks to be delivered. While waiting for the drinks the waitress took our food order, took our food a good 40 minutes to be served after we ordered. The waitress told us our food was delayed because one item was burned in the oven and had to be remade. When we finally got our order one of the entrees was cold and the other was luke warm. We had ordered both entrees medium, but they were also over cooked. I understand they were busy with the pub crawl, but that should not have impacted their service as much as we experienced. What really disappointed me that the restaurant did not make us aware of the limited dinner menu and that they also were hosting a pub crawl when we made reservations. We could have made a decision to cancel the reservation before we traveled to the restaurant I hope the owners of this restaurant will plan better in the future and make their patrons aware of special circumstances affecting the menu. All I know is that I will not be returning.

This is a Southern Restaurant in a southern town. So I opted for a Shepherd's Pie from the St Paddy's Day menu. Yeah, go figure. It was rather bland. When I make this dish, I use ample cream in the potatoes (Irish style) and make a thicker, more moist pie, with a good deal of tomato in it. This was a bland substitute. Far better the next day when I added in enough butter to make the potatoes shine. I will give props for using lamb on this. She had the salmon patties. Fairly simple, also rather bland. Mashed potatoes as well. Breading on the okra was fine. Staff? Very friendly waiter. Answered all the questions and even described the drinks. As this has a good craft beer selection, I opted for one I had not had before and she got a smokey old fashioned. The old fasthioned did not have the cherries or orange peel you would normally see, but was rather strong and did use a rye whiskey. I would not go there for the drink, but reasonably priced. The ambiance is great. Typical of Rome, GA establishments, you can feel the history. They also have a rooftop bar and a separate bar area, for those seeking out a drink or two. Summary: The experience was good, but the food was bland. If you like to heavily salt your food, this might not be as big of a deal. On the whole, 3 stars, for average. Compared to other places in Rome, some of which are really bad, you would prefer this to many places. Nothing really bad to say, but nothing really good. Just average.
