spanish latte and honey lavender latte beautiful venue. i would've loved to stay and take in all the stained glass windows had to offer! cramped parking on the street and had to go residential but that wasn't too bad. it was a busy time when i got here and so our orders took a bit to get ready. lightly flavored coffee here so enthusiasts will appreciate that. they were smooth and strongly caffeinated!

Yummy chocolate chip cookie with a tiny bit of red fruit in it. amazing!

At the entrance of the church building, I didn't know what to expect when we walked up the stairs. As soon as we walked in the there was a very nice seating area near the barista counter. Yes, they still had some pastries. That's what I needed. After we ordered, we looked into the next room and it was a big open space like a church foyer with stained glass windows. The fireplace was magnificent. There is even a play area for children. There's not a lack of seating at all. Both of the pastries that we had were delicious. Next time we will be back for coffee. I'm sure it will be next Saturday.

Part Presbyterian Church, part Cafe (Crema coffee & bakery), part community space (Tabor Space). Very large and spacious! The baristas were friendly and excellent with small talk. Unlike LA, they appeared genuinely interested and ready for longer conversation if given the opportunity. Excellent spread of pastries and a ton of seasonal drinks. No shortage of peppermint & brown sugar items! The Maple Brown Sugar Latte was just right; not too sweet not overly decadent. You definitely get your money's worth with the cookies! Easily 3x cookies in one which is great if you've got a sweet tooth while also ballin' on a budget. The cafe game in Portland is thoroughly saturated w/ indie entrepreneurs and it's got to be a challenge to stand out from the crowd. I applaud Crema Cafe for not trying to differentiate themselves with a gimmick. They are memorable in my book for their unique depth of atmosphere and a palpable sense of serenity. I don't consider myself claustrophobic although I do appreciate my personal bubble. Crema Coffee has that! A blend of communal space without congestion.

Beautiful space. The pic does not do it justice...

This is the coolest most unique coffee shop in Portland. They share a Tabor Space with the church. Because of it, they have many comfortable seating arrangements in a relaxing inviting atmosphere. It's almost meditative... You'll be in a state of Zen while working . They have a good selection of treats to boot. The Barista was helpful and patient with me. There is plenty of street parking there. Go give it a shot, but be there before 2:00 or 3:00 p.m. because they close early, and all the pastries will be gone...

I don't know if they always only have one barista, but if it's busy it can be a bit slower.

Excellent coffee, unusual and very tasty pastries. Service is great despite big fluctuations in number of people wanting service

Walking in less than an hour before closing, we were surprised to see most of the items still in stock! We ended up picking four things to try: Vanilla Bean Kouign Amann ($7) - This pasty has a sweet yet salty exterior that's complementary in flavor rather than clashing. It's accentuated with a crunchy glazed and caramelized sugar layer that's on the sweeter side. The interior is interesting. There's a cavernous gap right in the center that's filled with a sickly sweet melted sugar syrup. It's unpleasantly sweet and very cloying. The puffed and filled area is large enough that it compresses the other layers so the kouign amann is dense. I've never had a kouign amann quite this sweet before. (3/5) Meyer Lemon Olive Oil Cake with Thyme ($5.50) - This cake is so moist and rich, thick and dense, fatty and rich, that it feels like I"m eating a slab of butter. I'm sure it has just as many calories too! It's quite sweet, although not nearly to the level of the kouign amann. Overall, it's just a really rich and decadent cake. (4/5) Blueberry + Vanilla Cream Brioche Donut w/ Earl Grey ($6) - The top of the pastry is dressed with a cream that has an unmistakably strong bergomot earl grey taste. I wish there was way more cream - there's essentially only a dab on top! The rest of the donut is filled with a custardy light blueberry and vanilla jam. It's not too sweet and has an excellent high quality blueberry fragrance, creating an exceptionally strong blueberry taste. The jam is not too thick and is somewhat syrupy from sugar. The donut itself is really soft and extremely airy. It's the fluffiest donut I've eaten in a long time. (5/5) Raspberry Rose Cruffin ($8.50) - This pastry has some fun dehydrated raspberries sprinkled right on top of a light and fluffy cream that's not too sweet. The cruffin base is buttery in taste and great lamination even when filled with the custard and rose/raspberry cream. This is a heavy cruffin that's very filling. (5/5) Twisted Croissant certainly does some some really delectable treats. It's one of my favorite bakeries in Portland!

Twisted Croissant was definitely one of my favorite bakeries in the city, however, they have…read moresignificantly raised their prices, and the pastries are much smaller. I'm not sure that I can justify spending $7 to $12 on a single pastry. This will have to be my special occasion bakery, I suppose. Additionally, I had a less than pleasant exchange with one of the employees. It kind of caught me off guard because that has never happened before. Maybe she was just having a rough day.
