Great little spot and broader Tabor location! I had a caramel coffee and we shared a few treats of a ginger molasses cookie, banana muffin, and a honey roll. All delicious! This Crema coffee is located inside Taborspace. Taborspace is a community gathering place operated by this Presbyterian Church. Head to the Southeast corner of the entire church to find the cafe entry. With just a few chars in the actual cafe, there is a much larger space to eat/drink/chat/work inside the church which is called Copeland Commons. It is a religious space but feels welcoming, not pushy. I've been to other Crema locations and enjoy their coffee and pastries. Enjoying them in this unique space is a bonus! read more

During our trip to Portland, one of the places we visited was Mount Tabor. On the way there, we stopped at this little coffee shop inside a lovely stone church. The entrance is to the side, through a bright red door. It was a really cute space, loved the little stained glass windows, and the antique-feel of the space. Very cozy and homey. They have a good variety of baked goods, but since we just had lunch, we stopped there for a cup of coffee only. The ordering counter and all the baked goods are in the back room. We got Rose Latte and Spanish Latte. They are made with housemade ingredients such as syrup, and local honey. It was not overly sweet, but perfect sweetness, and the coffee was nice and strong. They were super delicious! We really enjoyed our quick, relaxing coffee stop here. read more

Great cafe and wonderful seating area. What an awesome place for meeting friends and colleagues. The bakery items looked delicious as well. However, the wait for a cappuccino was 23 minutes due to one, brave worker. At least I had a buzzer that let me know when my drink was ready--it was hot and tasty. The service was pleasant and could have been stressed taking orders, making food, handling money, creating drinks by herself. Meanwhile, the bussing station was overflowing with used dishes and cups. Props to the cool-headed barista who remained grounded and friendly. I was frustrated waiting, waiting, but I will return because it's an outstanding gathering place. Maybe the one person operation was a fluke. Maybe I'll order a tea next time. I have time to strategize before going again. read more

At the entrance of the church building, I didn't know what to expect when we walked up the stairs. As soon as we walked in the there was a very nice seating area near the barista counter. Yes, they still had some pastries. That's what I needed. After we ordered, we looked into the next room and it was a big open space like a church foyer with stained glass windows. The fireplace was magnificent. There is even a play area for children. There's not a lack of seating at all. Both of the pastries that we had were delicious. Next time we will be back for coffee. I'm sure it will be next Saturday. read more

Part Presbyterian Church, part Cafe (Crema coffee & bakery), part community space (Tabor Space). Very large and spacious! The baristas were friendly and excellent with small talk. Unlike LA, they appeared genuinely interested and ready for longer conversation if given the opportunity. Excellent spread of pastries and a ton of seasonal drinks. No shortage of peppermint & brown sugar items! The Maple Brown Sugar Latte was just right; not too sweet not overly decadent. You definitely get your money's worth with the cookies! Easily 3x cookies in one which is great if you've got a sweet tooth while also ballin' on a budget. The cafe game in Portland is thoroughly saturated w/ indie entrepreneurs and it's got to be a challenge to stand out from the crowd. I applaud Crema Cafe for not trying to differentiate themselves with a gimmick. They are memorable in my book for their unique depth of atmosphere and a palpable sense of serenity. I don't consider myself claustrophobic although I do appreciate my personal bubble. Crema Coffee has that! A blend of communal space without congestion. read more

This place is disgustingly filthy and the staff don't care. During my brief wait in line I witnessed multiple food sanitation violations, including baked goods so close to the register that several customers in front of me touched the food with hands, gloves, and payment card as they paid for their order, and a staff member who casually switched between touching food they were serving and taking money -- thus during Nora virus, cold and flu season. Don't know how long it's been since they cleaned their espresso machine, but it looks and tastes like it has been way too long. Health department definitely owes this business a visit, and until then I'll stay away. Also, nothing in the name betrays that this business is located in an active Presbyterian church filled with sectarian propaganda likely to trigger those suffering religious trauma. read more

This is the coolest most unique coffee shop in Portland. They share a Tabor Space with the church. Because of it, they have many comfortable seating arrangements in a relaxing inviting atmosphere. It's almost meditative... You'll be in a state of Zen while working . They have a good selection of treats to boot. The Barista was helpful and patient with me. There is plenty of street parking there. Go give it a shot, but be there before 2:00 or 3:00 p.m. because they close early, and all the pastries will be gone... read more

Coffee is great, attached atmosphere in TaborSpace is great! The staff is friendly and efficient. The drinks are creative and reliably delicious The baked good options are excellent but there are no vegan sandwich options and the veggie sandwich/non baked-good options are limited (one often runs out, and the grilled cheese is mostly toasted bread with little cheese in between). But if you're looking for baked goods and great coffee, they have a lot of delicious and reliable options. The atmosphere is aces. read more

I'm a huge fan of this bakery! I just found out about this location today. In a really good spot! I love their mushroom manchego scone and the egg turnovers. All their bakery stuff is yummy! They are a busy place and the people work really hard. I would definitely come back to this location if in the area. read more

Seriously need to consider having 2 people work this location. I've come several times the last two weeks and each time I know I will stand at the counter and wait a minis of 15 minutes to simply place an order for drip coffee. I want to like this place. The drinks and food here are good, just like the chain's main space on SE Ankeny. I have had a lot of problems with this particular location, however, because of the awkwardness of the space (it's in a late-19th-century Presbyterian church, and the coffee shop is not easy to get to and up flights of stairs from the ground level), and most of all because of the baristas. They seem perpetually understaffed to handle the crush, and the space behind the counter is not conducive to many people or easy movement, so lines are long and it takes the staff a while to fulfill orders. The baristas can also sometimes be rude and snappish: you can find much friendlier help at other coffee shops in Portland. I've decided not to frequent this place anymore because of this. Getting coffee should not be a hassle in Portland. read more

LOVE this space and love that it's in a church. Was pleasantly surprised by the breadth of food and drink options. Friendly staff. They keep the sitting area quiet unlike the loud music many cafes pump out. The beautiful sanctuary is accessible to sit to reflect/pray as well. read more

The cup they made my coffee in had a huge slit and was leaking everywhere. When the barista picked it up to hand it to me it was already leaking on their hand, but they decided to ignore it and give it to us anyway. When we mentioned it they handed me another cup to pour into, but at that point I had already lost like 20% of my $8 latte. I brought this up again and they said they could help me pour it into the new one. Clearly I wanted a new latte or a refund or partial refund but they stood strong in not offering anything but the extra cup. Maybe I get it? I don't really. How much does the espresso really cost that they wouldn't give me a new latte for this crappy experience. And why did they hand it to me in the first place when it was already spilling everywhere?? read more

The Crema location on Belmont has good coffee and treats. But wow, they are in desperate need of more help and/or more space. What a confusing set up where you don't know what coffee is yours and it took 20 minutes to get ordered coffees. Quite disorganized and slow. Love the space and the many kids are fun. read more
