Then we asked for the ube waffle, the worker said they were out of this. We asked, what do they have? She said pandan waffle, which we did not want (she couldn't even explain to us what it actually was). We ended up ordering two separate scoops of ice cream (plain chocolate), each in a waffle cone in a cup. First she served the scoop directly in a cup, and forgot the waffle cone. Then she corrected the order, and we realized that if you order a scoop with a waffle cone, they make the scoop significantly smaller... so that was interesting. Though the portions were small, the taste was great. Regular, rich chocolate ice cream. And the waffle cone had a light toasted texture, creating a good mix. But honestly we could probably get this anywhere. Also, the spoons were flimsy, and the worker didn't give us any napkins. I feel kinda bad leaving a lower rating because the poor girl, working all by herself, seemed overwhelmed and stressed, understandably. I waiting patiently a good 15 minutes before my order, guacamole nachos and fresh watermelon juice, was ready. When she finally served it to me I looked at the "nachos" and didn't see any cheese on it. I asked if there was cheese in it and she said Yes. This place is a hidden gem in Eastridge. It's right between the food court and the movie theater. I came in today determined to try the durian icecream. I had just a sample and instantly fell in love! Durian fruit is an acquired taste. It's a tropical fruit that's actually quite pricey. But the price here is really reasonable. It's $5 for a medium size that comes in a waffle bowl. It's really creamy and you can truly taste the essence of the durian. It wasn't too heavy or thick. Just perfect. I've only had durian gelato at a spot in Vietnam town, but it was way too icy and lacked the true taste. This place has the flavors perfectly balanced. It's not overwhelmingly sweet either. The service was great- quick and super friendly. The owner/manager (I think) said the place opened just 8 weeks ago. I have high hopes for this place. Hope to see them expand their menu. I was really hoping to try the taro flavor but unfortunately, they were out so I got coffee (along with green tea and durian). The line was quite long and there was only one worker on a holiday weekend. They have a menu of several predetermined creations consisting of 3 scoops of ice cream + a waffle + toppings/sauce. All of which are $6. The "choose your own 3 flavors + waffle" (no toppings) is also amongst that list which kind of sucks. I wish they had a different option that's cheaper without the waffle, as some people may not like waffles. Individual scoops are $3. I would definitely come back here if I was in the area.
