I was shocked and pleasantly surprised to see a Honey Berry here. They are located in a crowded and busy shopping plaza on San Felipe Rd and Yerba Buena Rd. The parking is challenging during morning to lunch hours. Intimate ambience with a few tables inside. No public restroom. The owner was friendly and welcoming. I hadn't had a roti bun in years. I got the plain one. It was just as good as I remembered. Definitely have them heated up if you are eating them at the store or if you are taking them home, put them in the oven (or microwave) for a few minutes. A cute little dessert shop on the outskirts of San Jose. I was actually recommend to come here by an acquaintance of mine and decided to swing on by. Hubby and I got the ice jasmine tea regular sweet, which was pretty good in my opinion. Not too bitter with a hint of sweetness, which is my type of tea (kind of reminds me of the honey green tea from din tai fung :) ). We also wanted to try the churro ice cream and decided to get it with vanilla. We did wait a little longer than expected but we completely understand since it takes some time to make the churro fresh. Upon eating, we noticed that the churro was a lacking in that crispy, sweet cinnamon sugar flavor/texture (a little on the bland side which is why I took a star off) but the vanilla ice cream was pretty good. For the price, we honestly couldn't complain. Overall, it's a pretty cute shop their wall of art was really cute. I've consistently had disappointing experiences at this Honey Berry location. Every time we try to place an order, the owner insists that she will not make fewer than six roti buns at a time. Unfortunately, they rarely have any prepared in advance, which makes ordering inconvenient and limiting for customers. What's even more frustrating is that the buns themselves seem to be getting noticeably smaller over time. In addition, the customer service has been consistently unpleasant -- there's often attitude or resistance whenever we make a simple request or ask about different flavors. For example, if there are only two of us and we each want a different flavor, we're essentially unable to order because they don't have individual options available and refuse to make smaller quantities. Customers should not feel pressured or obligated to purchase more than they actually want just to place an order. I came here on Friday around lunch time and it was completely empty which was nice. I was picking up some Roti Buns so I called ahead to make sure that there were still some left. There was ample parking so I pulled right in. However, I was pretty disappointed when I got there and received the roti buns. These roti buns used to be my FAVORITE. They used to be so nice and fluffy. I guess it's been that long since I used to eat it on the regular but the quality has just gone down significantly. The bread is not nearly as fluffy - now it's more dense. And the most heart breaking part - the buns are like half the size they used to be luckily the flavor is still the same but I think I'll be trying the Cupertino location next time to see if all the roti buns are made like this now :( read more

The buns no problem...Customer service could be better. I wanted to add a Roti bun to my order but since she was too fast to tap she couldn't cancel it to charge me for one more. What happened next? She refused to sell me the extra bun because it's a $7 card minimum. Although I do like the Roti buns, pan dulce is just as good and there are no minimums at the bakeries we go to when using an ATM card. Our recent visit to Honey Berry was a disappointing one. Upon entering, the staff seemed surprised by our presence, setting an awkward tone from the start. We inquired about sampling the ice cream, only to be flatly denied without explanation. While we understand the constraints of COVID-19, it's puzzling why a place boasting exotic ice creams wouldn't offer sampling. Opting for the churro and ice cream sandwich, we were met with an unenthusiastic response from the employee, who seemed bothered by our order. The lengthy wait time of 10 minutes was presented without much consideration for our time or satisfaction. The overpowering smell of syrup permeating the entire establishment bordered on nauseating. The transaction concluded with a lackluster handoff of our dessert, no thank you. Maybe thanks for waiting? None of that. This lady is not friendly. I am not the only one who noticed this. Check other reviews below me. It's disheartening to witness such a stark decline in quality and service. The absence of passion among the staff, who I think was the owner, reflects poorly on the establishment as a whole. Also the superhero art on the walls has been there since the grand opening, maybe time for something new? Overall, the was one of the worst experiences I've had in a while. I come here all of the time and I am always greeted by the same lady, who is by herself with no other help. She is very hardworking and tries hard to get your order out to you as fast as possible. Been going here since 2010ish just for one thing - roti buns. Service is very fast but it can get crowded really fast as well. They change up their decor often so come here for your Instagram photos. This is my first time trying a roti bun and it had a nice crust on top and reminded me of a croissant. The inside of the restaurant is nice and clean. I heard about Honey Berry and their churro ice cream sandwiches. I happened to be in the area on an early weekday afternoon and stopped by to try out their desserts. I grabbed a scoop of their Oreo ice cream and one plain churro ($6 before tip). I was told that the churros were still being made and it would be ready in 10 minutes, so I went ahead and enjoyed my ice cream outside while I waited. The ice cream was good and surprisingly not too sweet. There were some Oreo bits in between each bite, but I think it would've been better with more pieces or a stronger Oreo taste. The churro was really small but it was good fresh. It also wasn't too sweet and had a chewier texture than what I was expecting. It seems to have been like this for a while, so I will say that if you're looking for quick service this is NOT the place. What they're known for is their roti buns, which are buns with a sugary crunchy top- usually filled with fruit or ice cream. I do like them, but I'm in love with their Halo-Halo or ice cream. The ice cream is probably the best kind of texture for me, a mix of crunchy ice crystals and creamy ice cream. After reading all the reviews about Honey Berry's churro ice cream sandwich, I had to try it! I was looking forward to trying the ube ice cream, but they didn't have it when I went (Saturday around 12pm). So I got the churro sandwich with pralines caramel ice cream instead. It took about 10 mins to make and the sandwich came out to about $6.50. The ice cream was a bit melted even though we ate it right away. The churro was hot and soft and it tasted really good with the ice cream. But it felt like there was not enough ice cream to match the 2 churro pieces. Gf and I used to visit Honey Berry in Oakridge once a week for their roti bun and milk tea combo. It was sad when that location closed down. The evergreen location is quite a bit away so we don't go very often, but we're glad to see that the roti bun and milk tea combo is still alive.
