I stopped in for a coffee and a crepe and was pretty stunned to be charged $6 for what seemed like a 6 oz pour. The price simply does *not* match the portion size or the quality. Yes, it's a cute spot in a nice area, and they clearly put effort into presentation, but that doesn't make up for the lack of value. I think I might be in love- this place was wonderful. Took our kids here the other day and even though we had been playing in the park and didn't feel or look particularly classy this place was so lovely that it made me feel a little classy. I love the decor and the ice cubes in the shape of bears- that was so cute! This was just a place that did a good job of focusing on little details that make the experience special. I had the cafe con horchata which was sweet iced perfection and the caffeine boost I got from it that got me through the rest of the day didn't hurt either. The boy shared a pink lemonade and loved it and then we got a coquette crêpe for the table and it was so good they probably could've eaten one all by myself and not shared it at all. As you can see from the crepe picture the presentation is good! The crepes are tasty too. The omelette was just ok but the coffee was really good. Service was average, they don't check in much but I'm fine with that. Some might not be. The only complaint I have is they charged almost $20 for a service fee (4 guests or more) in addition to the bill and tip. Went here for brunch with my friend for girls day because I've seen this spot all over social media. The staff was very nice, but can't say the same about the food. We got drinks off the Halloween menu, as you can see the drinks we got, mean girls and coraline drink are described on the menu as "CORALINE DECOR" "MEAN GIRLS DECOR", when our drinks arrive, the only decor there is a sticker and couple sprinkles on the side, didn't even bother to do a full rim or anything. Charged me $13 for a sticker and colored cold foam, ridiculous! The coffee itself tasted like those Starbucks Frappuccino's u get at the gas station for $3. Then the food arrives, we got a panini with cold pasta, the pasta had NO flavor at all, not even salt! And the panini bread was hard af. My wife and I took our daughter and two friends (9 years old) here. This place focuses on crepes and milkshakes. I had a Cesar salad which was great and my wife enjoyed a beet salad. The kids got after it with variety of milkshakes and crepe orders. They loved it. My wife and I enjoyed a chocolate martini and specialty cocktail. Service was good. We had a nice weeknight dinner at Crepas Culichi a few weeks ago. It's a cute Franco-Mexican creperie with large and varied menu. It resides in a corner building in downtown Oak Park which has housed several restaurants over the past decade or two. VIBE: Cheery, colorful, eclectic décor. Decent lighting. Lots of glass, so a bit noisy. Very welcoming. SERVICE: Our servers were helpful, pleasant, and comfortably attentive. Dishes came out at a leisurely pace. FOOD: The menu features a variety of apps, salads, pizza, pasta, entrées, and - of course - crepes. Flavors are Mexican, French and Italian. We started with a nearly perfect Caesar salad, fresh, crispy, and attractive. My Savory Culichi crepe was also attractive and delicious, highlighted by chicken tinga, caramelized onions and poblano crème.My companion said her chicken crepe was also excellent. We opted for optional avocados on each crepe - a good choice. There's a full bar with a generous selection of cocktails, beer and wine. It is pricey but my 11 year old daughter loved this place. I guess it's our new date place. The expresso machine reminded me of a Willy Wonka movie. My daughter said that all the bling reminded her of the Titanic movie. The crepes were good. We both had sweet crepes. Next time I'll try savory crepes. I've actually visited Crepas Culichi on two different occasions for brunch which is served on the weekends. There is a waitlist online and there is paid parking on the street but free parking if you don't mind walking a couple of blocks down Marion St. The restaurant was packed on Saturday at 1:30PM with lunch goers but luckily I was able to snag a seat at the bar. There were many holiday specialty drinks on the menu but I opted for a strawberry smoothie that came adorned with sour candies and a really cute snowman ice cube. I also ordered the breakfast board that came served on a Christmas tree platter with waffles, teeny tiny pancakes, fresh strawberries and blackberries, chocolate cookies, gingerbread cookies and a chocolate pudding and yogurt dip. Super cute but I wish it came with a protein as well. The only downside about the restaurant was that there are only two single occupancy restrooms so there was a line for both. They have a really pretty candlelabra to celebrate birthdays that I would love to get one of my friends the next time we have a birthday brunch. read more

Disappointed After My Most Recent Visit I've been to Crepas Culichi in Oak Park about three times now, and while I've always found the food to be very average, my most recent visit on July 19th for my niece's Quinceañera was especially disappointing. Let's start with the positives: the aesthetic appeal of this place is what truly draws people in. Cute drinks, heart-shaped dishes, and Instagram worthy decor. The staff is consistently very friendly, and the crepes are probably the best thing they offer. But that's where the praise stops. The food overall lacks flavor, and the portions aren't filling for the average adult. The restaurant was noticeably warm inside, which was uncomfortable and unexpected for a place of this caliber. The biggest issue: the pricing and unnecessary charges. We ordered a birthday crepe for $28, which is essentially the same as their regular crepe ($16-$18) with an added $3 fee for pistachios. I never saw, tasted, or felt a single pistachio inside of my crepe and no pistachios were sprinkled on top. The rest of the cost? Apparently for a reusable candle and singing "Happy Birthday." That's outrageous! We ordered a $6 Blue Moon but didn't like how it tasted and let the waitress know right away. While I understand it's not the restaurant's fault someone didn't like their drink, a gesture of goodwill, especially for a party spending nearly $700, would have gone a long way. We were charged $5 for a person who didn't show up--we made a reservation for 13, but only 12 attended. Why charge extra 1 individual person not attending? The restaurant was nearly empty at that time, so it was no inconvenience to anyone if it was 12 instead of the original 13. This wasn't charged on our tab it was charged AFTER I guess separately? When we called to ask why we had a random $5 fee they said they would check and call back. No one called us back so we had to follow up with them AGAIN. They said THEY REVIEWED THE CAMERAS AND CONFIRMED 1 GUEST DIDN'T ATTEND SO THEY HAD TO CHARGE US THE $5... lol WHAT A JOKE. It honestly feels like they try to capitalize on their TikTok fame by overcharging at every opportunity. I've eaten at many restaurants in downtown Chicago with much better food, no extra fees, and a more satisfying customer experience. Unfortunately, unless they make major changes to the quality of their food and pricing practices, I won't be returning. A cute aesthetic can only carry you so far. It's sad, I used to praise this restaurant so highly for how cute and creative they were with their decor and food presentation, and I truly admired that its women owned by 2 Latina sisters. I really hope they take these kinds of reviews into consideration and use them to enhance their restaurant in the future. read more

I invited my family for brunch this last Sunday. It was pouring rain. I dropped off my father and 2 kids at the front door while I went and found parking. The hostess told my father he could not wait inside until the rest of his party arrived. He explained we were just parking and the hostess insisted he wait outside. He asked if they could wait in the vestibule and he was denied that also. I walked up and found my father and 2 kids drenched outside looking for me. Where LSK had more dark tones, everything here is off white, brushed gold, etc. The outdoor patio space is great with some large umbrellas providing shade. The crepe menu is a bit pricey compared to the regular menu items. It's easy to miss the crepes since they're on their own menu, separate from the brunch menu. My friend ordered the chilaquiles without ham* and I got the classic crepe without ice cream. The crepes seemed pricey since they came with no sides. I did order a side of hash browns with cheese, they don't list sides on the menu, but they seem to have some. It was unclear if sodas had free refills, they came with straws that had ice hearts on them. Service was ok, but we think our server was pretty slammed. We saw him less as the meal went on and tracked him down for the bill. So the cocktails were amazing. We had quite a few. If you want an over the top cocktail, get the old fashioned. They have a lot of them! They're around 14-18 dollars and have craft beers from local breweries which is super nice. They do have tons of crepes. I really liked the savory and the dessert. This place is nicely decorated, super cute and picture worthy. We didn't make reservations and we're seated pretty quickly. My one con is the service. We waited about 15 to 20 minutes to get an initial drink order, and then about 30 minutes to get a second drink order in, and then about 25 more after eating to get a dessert in. The first time around, my wife and family were thoroughly impressed by the service and the kindness with which we were treated; however, during this second visit, all of that changed. Everything was going perfectly until we decided to order the walnut and *cajeta* crepes--a dish that typically comes with bananas. Since I do not care for bananas, I asked if they could substitute them with strawberries. The waitress immediately replied, "No," explaining that the dish is served as-is and she could not make any changes unless I paid an extra fee. I simply do not understand this policy: the strawberry and *cajeta* crepes cost the exact same amount, so why would I have to pay extra just to swap bananas for strawberries? They had done exactly that for us during our first visit, so I cannot fathom why she refused this time. It is ridiculous; she needs to understand that the customer comes first, and she clearly requires additional training in customer service. As a restaurant manager myself, I would never allow something like that to happen in my establishment; the customer always comes first, for it is thanks to them that we are able to keep our doors open. read more

They took our name and phone number, and we took a stroll. There were so many cute shops nearby to pass the time, but by the time they called, we were hungry. This place is adorable! The decorations are over the top cute. (The chairs fit the decor but don't feel sturdy, so hopefully, they'll consider changing them in the near future.) Wow I felt like I was transported to Europe with the lovely patio and decor here! I cannot believe this hidden gem was here in Oak Park, if it was in downtown it would be all over social media. The cocktails are lovely and so aesthetic. The butterfly lady comes with an awesome smoke bubble and the la vie en rose was tiny but comes in a pretty glass. We split a sweet crepe too, the Culichi crepe. It is a bit on the pricey side but so worth it with so many ingredients and a pretty little chocolate piece with glitter.
