I was really excited when this restaurant opened. The decor is lovely, reminiscent of a French tea party, and the food is unique with sweet or savory crepes with are my favorite. However, there is more to a restaurant than food and decor that shape one's experience. The staff do not seem properly trained to deal with anything out of the ordinary and their payment system is dismal. The last time I was there was this past Sunday, having brunch on the patio, and all was well until it came time to pay the bill. Laura mistakingly charged a credit twice- the full bill as well as half of the bill. It took over 15 minutes to resolve it with so much back and forth you would think they would at the very least apologize profusely and offer some sort of discount, free dessert or something. Instead, we were presented with two voided receipts as though the problem was resolved. On top of it all, the manager insinuated that it was our fault for staying past their 90 minute limit, (which we were unaware of, let alone mentioned prior). To make matters worse, I asked 2-3x for a chocolate or dessert, pointing out our excessively wasted time due to the bill, but our waitress said she knew nothing about it, nor did the other person we dealt with which was completely untrue. I was so frustrated that I later called the restaurant to speak to a manager but they had all gone home. It was suggested that I email the managers, which I did. Five days later I am still waiting for a response and my well-deserved dessert. I went so far as to call them again to follow up on my email and was told they would remind the managers to check their email. I'm not in the restaurant business, but this is the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced, and am confident I am not the first, just the loudest. This is such a cute place for a girls day. Little girls will love it. Felt like an adult tea party. The food was good. The drinks were also tasty. Came with my friends for brunch after a long time of wanting to try this place. We arrived at a saturday around noon, we did a walk in because they were all booked online. The wait time was about 30 minutes which I don't think was bad especially because there's stores around. I ordered an easter special drink that came with white chocolate cold foam and it was delicious! And i'm normally not much of a coffee drinker. I also had the chilaquiles rojo, which were good, but the salsa was giving a bit too much tomato. My friend had the crepe de cajeta con nuez, which was super delicious (my favorite of all 3) We also tried the pistachio crepe (my second fave), and the arroz con leche crepe, which was also really good just didn't have as much good on as the other crepes. Met a friend for lunch on Friday. My reservation was honored at the time I had requested even though the restaurant was mobbed. The service was attentive - our waitress was charming! I ordered the bagel with lox, watercress, cucumbers and avocado -which I thoroughly enjoyed. My companion had a "delicious" savory crepe. We split the banana crepe for desert. The "shabby chic" mismatched china, gold tone cutlery and crystal chandeliers are so feminine and cheery that I felt like I was dining in a jewel box. It was my daughter's birthday and we knew we wanted some sort of fun ice cream to celebrate - this was it! I spied all the milkshakes through the windows and hoped there was something magical for her. Enter: Fantasy Milkshake. Celebrate my birthday here with friends. The decor is super cute. All the furniture and plates are like old school Italian. The plates are especially cute with different flower patterns. The food was delicious. I recommend the poblano pasta and stuffed chicken. We tried a few crepes and they were all delicious. My friends especially liked the peach crepe. I wanted to love this place. My daughter and her friend visited last week and had a good experience. My friend and I meet for coffee a couple of times a month and I chose this place. Big mistake, as the coffee (the main reason for coming) was bitter and not good! Let me start over. The reason we even ended up with coffee is because the initial drinks ordered was the Cafe de Olla and Honey Oatmilk Latte. Talk about sweet! They were way too sweet, we could not drink it. Also, they came to the table barely warm. We immediately told the server/waiter that we did not like our drinks, and why. We ask for them to be changed for regular black coffee. The service was really good. Not sure if it was because of the time we were there...early afternoon. The place was kind of empty, so they were very attentive. He brought over the coffee pretty quickly, but did not remove the previous drinks. We ordered food (Grilled shrimp crepe, Avocado Toast, and later an order of skit steak crepe) and it was only okay...nothing fabulous at all; especially for the price. As previously mentioned the service was good. The problem started when the bill came and they did not remove the 2 drinks that should have been replaced with the coffee. We informed the server that we did NOT drink them as they were still sitting on the table and if they could be removed from the bill. He seemed to look lost and not know what to do. A little later the manager came to the table and ask if there was a problem with the drinks. I informed her that there was and the reason we ordered coffee to replace them. She actually had the gaul to tell us that this is the way they make their drinks and that she was not able to take them off the bill. She also asked if we wanted a to-go cup...really!!!! We stated no and it should be removed...as she can see that we did not touch the drink past the initial sip. Our bill was over $95 and you cannot remove the drinks that we replaced. I informed her that if this is a rule for this restaurant, the waiter should have told us that it would not be removed when we informed him that we did not like the drink. Basically, I informed her that we would not pay for those lattes and she said she would provide a curtesy to us this time and take them off. Well, there will not be a next time! I initially scored this restaurant 2 stars, but the more I wrote, the more I decided that 2 stars was too much. What manager tells the customer "this is how we make it and basically deal with it! This place is BEAUTIFUL and DELICIOUS! If you are in Oak Park, you HAVE to visit Crepas Culichi. This is the second location of this concept and it is absolutely beautiful. Luckily when we went they were still taking reservations for breakfast/brunch. Recently they discontinued that. Don't know why, but if you are going here for breakfast GET THERE EARLY! Even with the reservation we had which was first thing in the morning, within 10 minutes of our seating, the place was FULL. And they have a 90 minute time on your visit, so keep that in mind. They have a great selection of crepes, but if you do not like crepes, that is ok, they have other enter options too! They have some crazy milkshakes, with all the additional cookies, candies, etc that makes it over the top and instagrammable! It was my birthday week, so I ordered the birthday crepe and it came out beautifully with a chandelier candle and it was quite the photo op. You can't keep the candle just FYI. I would highly recommend a visit here, especially if you want to treat mom or catch up with a girlfriend, such a beautifully decorated girly place! Check it out! read more

Don't come here if you have dietary restrictions. The server was extremely unfamiliar with the menu and couldn't answer even basic questions (for example, she didn't know if the chicken sandwich was grilled or fried). So when I asked about whether menu items had dairy, I took it with a huge grain of salt. Therefore I wasn't surprised when I was served food that obviously had cheese on it. I was only able to eat a small portion of food off my plate and while it wasn't bad, it also wasn't very good. Also, when I asked about the ingredients of the "smoothies" on the menu, they said it is just water, ice, and "flavoring" powder which seems unlike what most people would call a smoothie. (Also-- the issue didn't seem to be that the server was new, because she also asked other staff about ingredients and the others seemed uncertain too). Positives- the ice tea was good. The decor was cutesy-- kind of like in a princess tea party sort of way. We went there for dinner. First of all, the good. Our cocktails were pretty decent. I had the Oak Park Sour and my partner had a kind of mezcal margarita, I think. Both were delicious. The wine was great, as well. Unfortunately this was the only good thing about our experience. The menu is very minimal. The selection of crepes is disappointing, especially savory crepes. There are only two savory crepes, that's it! They have some non-crepe entrees, as well, but they're way too expensive. The least expensive is $27 for "stuffed chicken". $28 for shrimp! $10 for a side of asparagus! No, thanks. And don't even get me started on the appetizer prices... $18 for burrata? $12 for corn on the cob?! I was in the mood for savory but didn't like either of the savory crepe options so I went with the pistachio. My partner got the chicken tingas crepe. My dish was bland... it was basically just bananas with the smallest drizzle of dulce de leche wrapped in a tasteless and undercooked green crepe. Aside from the ice cream on top, only one bite even tasted of pistachios. I've honestly had better crepes at the mall. My partner's crepe was thin and barely looked like it had any meat in it. They sneak in a 3% charge to the bill. Although we only had one entree, a cocktail, and a glass of wine each (no appetizers or dessert), our bill was still $120!!! Nowhere near worth that much money. The only good thing was the drinks, and there are a million places in that area with excellent cocktails. It's a cute place with good drinks but it's way overpriced and the food, while presented well, is poor. The only thing we would be back for would be the drinks, but we might as well just go to Kettlestrings Grove (which has better drinks, a more extensive menu, and their chairs don't slide out from under you). read more

I stopped in today with a friend who invited me for breakfast and I was told that the food and service and food were very good. I was greatly disappointed. I wanted eggs benedict and I was told that the order had 2 eggs. I wanted three. They would not do it and I was told in so many words that they didn't how to write up a "half order." I cancelled that order and decided on steak and eggs. They didn't ask me how I wanted the eggs or how many I wanted. There was no salt or pepper on the table. The coffee was awful. More importantly, the service was awful. Even when the server knew that I wasn't happy, she did nothing to ask why. No place to hang up your coat. I will never go back to this place to eat. read more
