Great food with great service! We had ordered burgers, crepes and soups. All the salads were top notch. Our servers were very attentive.

I don't know what happened to this place but here are things to consider before you go: We were sat and given menus. So we waited for someone to take our order until I went in and found out that they don't actually come back out and take your order. You have to go into the front counter which would have been fine had I known that. When our food came out none of the salads were dressed and there was no salad dressing. The cottage fries were literally white. They were so undercooked. I got the Milano crepe which left a pretty greasy feeling in my mouth. The person who was serving us didn't offer a to-go container. I'm not going back for quite a while. Let them get their act together. Oh and when they came out with the salad dressing they only brought enough for one. We had three without dressing. And I'm not trying to pick on them. I've managed restaurants and I would find that completely unacceptable. But it happens. read more

This was the first time we've eaten at Crepevine since they moved to their new location on the south side of 4th street. It was a busy night, during the Thursday night Farmers Market, and a lot of the outdoor tables (placed on the sidewalk and in the street) were full. We had to go inside to order. Everyone wore masks, and properly social distanced. The line moved fairly fast, and we already knew what we wanted. We had a party of 4, but ordered in two groups back to back. They knew all orders were to go to the same table, but rather than bringing everything out together, there was a 30 minute gap from the first plate to the fourth. By then, person #4 had already eaten a lot from her husband's plate and was no longer especially hungry. I ordered the Bombay Crepe with chicken. My wife the Thai Crepe with shrimp. Mine was fairly disappointing. I there was a teaspoon full of sauce on the top, and the inside was lacking in flavor and seasoning. I asked for more sauce and that helped a little, but it didn't satisfy my craving for Indian food. The salad that came on the plate was mostly undressed, and the "home potatoes" were totally unseasoned and ranged from undercooked to hard crispy bits with every alternative between the two extremes. My wife was luckier. Her shrimp was nicely seasoned, and the overall flavor profile was more successful of hitting the Thai Target. But she had the same experience with the potatoes. Between the under par crepe and the unfortunate delay between orders, I can no longer recommend this restaurant. I have such a wonderful 5-star memory from my previous visit years ago that I may give it another chance, and maybe order a more standard flavor profile crepe and see how they do. read more

I love this place. They have multiple locations and I never had bad food. They can get busy and packed during lunch especially during brunch time. This place has a nice look a side taco bar and outdoor seating. We ordered the pesto crepe, buttermilk pancake and a chicken Cesar. With a Coke and tea. Our multiple servers were ok at filling us up but they seemed overwhelmed.it is not a traditional sit down so it's ok. Now the food as always was great. Love the pesto crepe and really all their crepes here. The pancake was delicious. Fluffy buttery and large. Great item to share. The Cesar was good. Decent dressing and good housemade croutons. Came here on a Sunday with 12 of us. They take reservations for big group! They are very welcoming and great customer service! They sat us on the other half of the restaurant and it was very clean, lots of seats. I tried the Philly and the Siena crepe. The serving size is great!!!!! Big portions. The crepes are divine! Glad Crepevine is still here in downtown San Rafael. The outdoor seating is much smaller. Large portions, delicious food, always consistent, and pay up front. When I crave pasta, I get it to-go, and it's still fresh and hot. Not always do I come for crepes. My daughter loves their caesar salad, and it's shareable. We always enjoy eating here, and it's reasonably priced to feed a family of four to five. These days, it gets expensive to dine out. It's also expensive to eat in and lack the willpower to cook anything healthy. My kids are no longer within the kids' menu range, no more chicken fingers for them LOL! A terrific delivery option in San Rafael! I love to dine in here, but of course with COVID now take-out and delivery is the norm. We ordered delivery last night, and the fee was only $1.99 for a very super fast and organized experience. Our driver was very nice and didn't even want to accept our large tip (aren't we all at least doing 20% min. now??). My husband was hesitant to order from them because he didn't know if the food would bode well with the lag time of delivery, but it was all excellent. My Asian Chicken salad rivaled that famous one nearby and the portion was so large, I saved half for lunch today. I'm picky about grilled chicken (if any pieces are fatty or tough I am totally turned off) and theirs was perfect. The salad greens were super fresh and crispy, and the dressing is full of flavor. I came to the place at the beginning of the pandemic and was disappointed. An owner was extremely attentive to the feedback I've provided and invited us back to change our mind. Two years after the experience--we back! Sitting here and enjoying our delicious food, at this great location & attentive servers brought smile to my face, we were really impressed how much it changed!! Overall we had nice customer service. Due to the shut down and limited seating, we had to wait about 15 minutes for our table. Right off the bat, we were trying to have dinner at Cascabel, which apparently is both Crepevine and Cascabel in one. We were only given the Crepevine menu even though the Cascabel side appeared open and stated it was open on Yelp. We didn't want to cause an inconvenience so decided to go with the flow. The food presentation was all but pleasant. They we asked if it was possible to split the burger and pulled pork sandwich and what we received looked like a pile of random items piled together. The house potatoes were incredibly hard and stale. Again, due to Covid it is hard to judge but we were not impressed. Overall customer service was very nicely done. Food- I had the Philly cheese steak savory crepe. Tasty, tender beef, would def recommend especially if you like a hearty crepe. Others in my group ordered various savory crepes including the San Francisco, one made with smoked salmon, and one made with fresh salmon ( both were very good) and a vegetarian type Milano crepe. A friend ordered a dessert crepe that I was able to sample...this banana Jamaican Sweet Crepe was a bit disappointing. Not much filling, skimpy portion. I think for their price point on this crepe, the restaurant can improve on both quality and portion. The reason I'm rating this restaurant 4 stars is because the staff was very nice, the savory crepes were tasty, and I liked the casual atmosphere. I got the Big Sur sandwhich mainly because I REALLY wanted the roasted garlic aioli on it, and my sandwhich had NONE!!!! Come to find out when I got home that the bread was dry, the meat was over cooked and dry, and there was also no cheese to be found either. The new location is the perfect spot, very spacious with plenty of tables. I ordered the Chicken Shawerma for dinner last night and it was underwhelming. I requested the pickles on the side since I'm not a fan and my boyfriend likes them so there was just grilled chicken and garlic sauce. The lavash and hot grilled chicken were delicious, but it was missing more ingredients. They were also skimping on the fries. I won't be ordering it again. Some of my favorites off the menu are the El Baron burger, Crepevine Club, and the pumpkin pancakes. I LOVE their fries- golden brown and crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. read more

I love Crepevine, and I have been to quite a few of their locations around the Bay....and I love the ambiance of this one. I really like San Rafael, quite the quaint little place. It has the "little home town" feel...despite it being a busy little city. My friend and I both wanted BLT's so we ordered the club without the chicken...they were great and she had sweet potatoes fries and I just had regular fries...and it hit the spot. It was a really nice afternoon and we were able to hang out a bit as it was a quiet Friday afternoon around 3pm and it was right before it gets busy. I will definitely remember to come back here. This is a good brunch spot. There is a lot of open seating and a vast menu where you can find something for everyone in your group. I ordered the Benedict and I was not disappointed. My boyfriend ordered and omelette and liked his option as well. The coffee was meh. The potatoes that come on the side are also really really good. Sometimes potatoes are just whatever, but these are worth getting. Overall I was pretty pleased. The set up was a little awkward. I wasn't sure if I should get my own water after paying as I ordered. I must have missed something here. Friends have told me for years how great Crepevine is, and so, I met a friend for lunch. It's cafeteria style ordering; not a sit down, here's a menu type place. I believe had I known that, I wouldn't have gone, as I was in the mood to be served; and for those prices, yes, service with a smile, please! I meandered up the the register and placed my order after my lunch mate placed theirs, and we found a place to sit, which I imagine could be chaotic on a busy day. After twenty minutes or so, and my friend had finished eating we were able to get an employee's attention to ask where my soup was; yes, soup. Oh, they must have forgotten about it she said. Hum. The soup came out, it was flavorless, and lukewarm, my lunch mate was antsy and ready to go, as we'd been there for about forty five minutes; but I decided to take my time and do my best to find something great to share about this place. Sadly, that never happened. i'm giving the place two stars because frankly, my lunch mate had a great looking omelette and potatoes and seemed to enjoy it very much. We love this place. Every birthdays or holidays we celebrate them here! The staff are always so nice and welcoming especially Sunita. She takes care of you and memorizes ur order lol so you dont even have to say ur order the next time xD she will know! My personal favorite is their chicken shawarma and parma pasta. Everyone needs to try those two seriously. If you love pickles you haveee to get the chicken shawarma, tip: ask for crispy lavash ;) Wait time on food is not too long about 10-15min. Oh almost forgot, you have to try the Jamaican crepe. It's a sweet crepe with bananas and rum sauce. The bananas and the rum sauce melt perfectly in your mouth. We have been coming to this restaurant from Sacramento for several years, for my fav San Fran crepe with smocked salmon. This was a second time we visited after the new ownership took place. First time it was amazing, same as before. This time my husband ordered ham and cheddar crepe and the lady at the register entered 'ham Greek' crepe, but we did not know about it until we got our order. When it was delivered to our table we couldn't figure it out why my husband's order came with a small bowl of yogurt. When he cut a piece of crepe he realized that it was wrong order because it was full of feta cheese, which he would not even put in his mouth. I found a waiter and explained it to him that my husband's order was wrong. He asked for the order number so he could check it with the cashier. In a minute the cashier lady stormed into the outside patio and started really loud telling us that she asked my husband if he wants Greek and he said yes. We explained it to her that he said that he wanted the ham and cheddar crepe not a Greek crepe. We did not understand a half of what she was trying to say. Her English was not good enough to communicate with the customers. She left after being super rude and obnoxious and did not offer to replace the order. My order was as expected, nice San Fran crepe. But I was not in the mood eating because of that woman rudeness. Another waitress came and asked if we need boxes. We said no and left, leaving our food that we paid $45 for with tips. We drove from Sacramento hoping to enjoy a little walk by the bay and stopping in San Rafael for our fav lunch. But our weekend was ruined by that woman at the Crepevine cash register. As one of several restaurants in this small chain, this spot seemed likely - at first glance - to be perhaps a cut above IHOP without all the fancy syrups. One day, I had business near Crepevine San Rafael, found a parking space, and decided to pop into Crepevine for a snack while I waited for my appointment. I was delighted by the spaciousness and sense of privacy within the establishment. I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent water-refill service. I was thrilled by the variety of sandwiches, burgers, egg dishes, and, well, crepes. Real maple syrup, too. I got takeout from Crepevine recently after not having dined here for several years. On my first visit back I ordered the Pioneer sandwich on sourdough. I prefer a cold sandwich with thinly sliced turkey meat on a roll; the Pioneer had a warm thick slice of turkey on sliced bread. (I guess I was picturing a sourdough roll.) Still, I found it to be pretty tasty even with Dijon mustard which I'm not crazy about. It came with choice of home potatoes or fries, plus mixed greens with balsamic vinaigrette. I passed on the potatoes altogether and just got the mixed greens which I really liked. On my next visit I ordered the Pasta Roma, which I think was my favorite between that and the sandwich. It came with toasted focaccia bread, which was a bit burnt but still tasted good to me. Portions here are pretty big, so you can get a couple meals from your order. Both times I came at lunch. There were plenty of available tables on both visits (though more inside than outside), and the line to order never seemed too long. If you're in a time crunch, you'll be ok if you order takeout in person vs. calling in and picking up your order. Communication over the phone I found to be a bit difficult, and there was a holdup at the pickup line because of an issue with someone's card. Couple more things to note: in one part of the restaurant my phone had no phone signal. Also, I was told they don't serve pasta until after 4pm on weekends. Bummer! Overall, I really like Crepevine. I like the food I've ordered, portions are generous, and I don't have any complaints with the service. read more

I am usually a big fan of this place even though its pricey. Today I used doordash to get a delivery. I ordered the Cancun and a kids chicken tender meal. I could not find an option to add ranch dressing on the side for the tenders. I put it in the instructions instead. When I called to see if they could throw in a ranch they refused. They said I had to pay for it and since I ordered it through doordash I would have to cancel the order (for a fee) and reorder it again. I have eaten at this restaurant a ton of times in person and have NEVER had to pay for a side of ranch. I just paid you 20 bucks for a salad and you wont include a dip for the tenders? Unbelievable.
