The AC stoped working last night so I called King this morning as we're going on day 4 of 90+ temps. The person I spoke to from King was rude as they continued to interrupt me and it felt like they were trying to get me off the phone. They also said that service in the past doesn't ensure service in the future and that they wouldn't be able to guarantee anyone could come look at the system for at least another 3 days and even then we would be charged the "emergency" rate. Fast service is one of their main claims on their website, as well as reliability. King installed this unit less than a year ago and it's already not working. So that's not what I would call reliable. I ended up not going King and called another HVAC company. They had someone out here in 2 hours and didn't charge an "emergency" fee.

It was easy to book an appointment for an estimate online and I received a response back quickly to suggest recommended times. The technician, Kamil G, came out and was professional and efficient. Within a week their 2 technicians came out to do the work and they showed up early and on time and stayed late to ensure that it was working properly. When they noted an error in how they set something up, they called it to my attention and corrected it right away. Their supervisor came back the next day to check the work and demonstrate how to use the system. I received 3 different quotes for this work and Global had the best pricing and was definitely the easiest to work with. I would strongly recommend them for your needs and I intend to call them back for future work.

If they missed something this simple I wonder what else they didn't do correctly. Don't waste your money here. The initial installation needed major rebuilding and corrections. Given the scope of the rebuild, I missed that the condenser unit was not placed properly in the wall, it is causing ongoing issues. Initially there were metal fragments on top of the condenser that went to the outside. Glad that I had a ladder to get on top of it and clean it off, before the metal fragments became airborne. The "free" vent cleaning caused dust to blow all over my condo unit. Not good when you have lung disease. I ended up cleaning dust that had been trapped in the vents. The tech didn't bring a shop vacuum to take care of. the job. They used a machine that flapped a rag around in my vents. I was concerned that the vents would be torn up. The motor itself is very loud and I still haven't gotten used to it. The contactor slams in and start up is a continual disturbance. Noted too that there are no insulators around the main electrical breaker. Decided to pass on the "free warranty." The associated service calls required to maintain the warranty were not "free." Very disappointed how the project turned out. It was stressful, expensive and subpar.

I had it replaced in the heat of August and their price was very competitive even during a time which I considered an emergency. They did not try to take advantage of my time in need. I compared them with a couple of other places, and they seemed to be the reasonable (not dirt cheap) and could get a furnace in quickly. I had a friend look at it afterward, and they pointed out a number of things they did wrong. Had to call air pride back and they had to send out someone to fix all of the errors. Second. Summer comes, problems with AC. I call my old HVAC guy- says it was an issue with the install/Freon- and should under warranty, rolls his eyes at the job done. Air pride comes out, acts like it was another issue, doesn't mention the freon R. Have to have my other guy come out to fix that. Third. I didn't realize my furnace is no longer under warranty, called air pride bc fan is on, no heat. Guy tells me that the igniter is dirty, he cleaned it, heat back on. Issue comes back- so I call my old faithful HVAC guy. I tell him the scenario- he looks and asks if I paid for that repaid, and can't believe I did. He tells me air pride did nothing. Here are pics of my charred igniter that were supposedly cleaned by air pride. My furnace is no longer under warranty, so I don't have to call them anymore. Ed was there within the hour, told us we needed a new motor and drove into Chicago to pick it up and we were up and running by 5:15! This was at the end of the day on Saturday! We were amazed but always get quick and excellent service from Air Pride and have been for well over 20 years. We always get good tips from Ed about heating, air conditioning, chimneys and hot water heaters. (and new restaurants to try!) We have 2 furnaces and central air conditioning units and Ed has installed and maintained them and calls to remind us in the fall and spring to set an appointment up to check things out. They are the best!
