Love McMinville and was hungry for breakfast. They have the BEST HASHBROWNS! It's a generous portion of shredded potato with crispy top and bottom. It was not greasy or oily in the least. It was so, so, so good. HEAVEN. I got the daily special of the pastry instead of toast and it was sour cream coffee cake - not too sweet, with the right amount of cinnamon swirl and delicious crumble on top. It was also tender and moist. So good! They also do a mean poached egg (those are hard and can be messed up easily). Friendly service, hometown feel, yummy food.

All breads are made in-house except for the gluten free which is made in-house at a dedicated gluten free facility Bierly down the street. Breakfast was made to order with locally sourced foods. Very friendly and attentive service. Excellent value. The restaurant is housed in a building over 100 years old.

I am someone who can appreciate the good in places, but unfortunately my experience here on a Saturday morning was not good. Before we arrived we based our decision on brunch by who had breakfast potatoes (not hashbrowns) and their online menu stated they did. We came in around brunch time, got seated fairly quickly in the main dining room, and ordered. They did not have any potato option besides hashbrowns, nor were they willing to make any even though a 'special' included them. We still decided to eat here. Upon receiving our meal, the sausage looked very pink / underdone so I did not eat it. The hashbrowns were fine ~ standard. Eggs my partner got were also ok... nothing extremely special. The waiter came to check on us and asked what was wrong with the sausage, I explained it looked underdone and raw (very pink). She initially said that's probably just the seasoning and that it's the texture that matters, not the color. She then said she would let the owner know. She brought the check without confronting the issue about the sausage and I didn't look and the check- gave her my card. After receiving it back, she dropped it and left (I assumed they would have comped the meat since it was underdone). They charged full price and then never came back into the dining room for 5 minutes so we signed and left. I have worked in the service industry for over ten years and it isn't a hard thing to do to own up to something so small and comp a few $$ off a meal. In the long run, they would have had a much higher chance of my return, but now I'll definitely be picking other places to dine at in McMinnville. I am not mad about them not comping the food in question, but I am disappointed in the fact that they failed to have a conversation with me directly. I would have walked away much happier as a customer if they didn't ignore my concern. If you're expecting a meal and service you'll love, nearby alternatives to CC are alpine kitchen, humble spirit, and the blue moon.

We arrived just after 11am on a busy Monday morning (Labor Day). We had to wait a few minutes to be greeted and put our name on the waiting list, which was totally understandable. All tables were full and the staff were super busy, which is a good sigh. I just knew we were in for a treat. Our wait was about 20 minutes so we strolled down third street and went into a local shop while we waited for a table. After about 15 minutes or so we received a text message that our table was ready so we walked back and got seated inside. The tables and chairs are really substantial, so you can't definitely order several plates to share and have enough space for it all, which I appreciate. Our server was kind and attentive. We ordered the 2 egg breakfast, mine with a biscuit & bacon, and my husband's with sausage & and English muffin. We also ordered the bourbon vanilla French toast to share. The food came out pretty quickly for it being such a busy day and everything tasted really great, good ingredients, fresh, perfectly cooked. No complaints!

I LOVE BREAKFAST!! If you're like me, you want to check out Crescent Cafe, located in the heart of McMinnville. This is my second visit here, and while a little bit of a drive from the Northwest Portland area, this is a wonderful, old-school charm cafe right in the heart of their downtown area. Cute neighborhood too. We had the florentine benedict, their bourbon vanilla French toast, a side of bacon, side of hash browns, and one egg over medium. NOTE: That's a lot of bacon! Also, All their breads and pastries are made in-house, and I'm told from scratch, daily. FYI, they are BIG slices, but good! Friendly staff, we like Shane, and always accommodating. On the weekends expect a bit of a wait. But in my opinion, worth it. SPECIAL NOTE: There's a McMenamin's across the street, and if you have time, check out their rooftop venue too. What a view!! We will be back as this is now one of my go-to breakfast stops. Now if you'll excuse me, I must go find a 12-Step meeting for over-breakfast-eaters anonymous.

What a cute lil joint we were introduced to! We were visiting family and our uncle recommended this place to us. Has a nice homie feel with great service. Our waitress was a seasoned veteran at the restaurant, sweet older lady that sounded like Tree Trunks from Adventure Time (weird reference I know lol). But she was very nice. She Recommend the Apple Crumble Coffee Cake thing (not its actual name) and fresh squeezed OJ. They were both delicious. The gentlemen got the biscuits and gravy while I got the Vanilla Bourbon French toast. The gravy tasted like liquid bacon, so good. The French toast was nice and thick. They must soak the French toast prior to putting it in the pan because it was nice and moist. The blueberry compote was tasty, though I think it could be better if it was warmed up prior to putting it on the toast, that's the only edit I have! So sad I don't live here to have this more often!

I'm looking forward to grubbing after a 30-minute wait!

My sweetie and I visited our 3rd restaurant this weekend in search of the perfect Oregon breakfast and once again drove down to McMinnville, Oregon. The Crescent Cafe is well reviewed here on Yelp, so we had to try it. 30-minute wait outside, but once seated, we could smell delicious crepes and pancakes wafting temptingly across the seating area. Funny enough, we ordered egg dishes, and my wife ordered crabcakes and 2 eggs. I ordered the special, which for today was a delicious vegetable hash with egg whites and an English muffin. Both of us ordered a small cup of fresh fruit, today's fare, delicious, sweet strawberries. My wife loved the small serving size, and she finished everything, including the incredible buttermilk toast that came with her order. She also ordered a side of veggies+garlic, which was baked broccoli. The veggie hash reminded me of the same dish from my late, great favorite breakfast place in Portland, Byways. There were a couple of kinds of peppers, broccoli, and red peppers, along with freshly made warm potato squares. We both had decaf to reduce our coffee intake for the day and some fresh, clean cold water. Both of us felt like our dishes were tasty and well-prepared. This place is a 4/5 easy pushed over from 3 to 4 by their efficient and kind servers and hosts. The decor is that if an old house as it is in a 100 year old building! My only small complaint was about the serving size, which was a bit small for me. Next time, we'll try the pancakes and crepes, which are a tad more filling.

Surprise trip for my birthday breakfast and it was definitely worth the trip. This classic bakery dinner doesn't look like much more than a hole in the wall, but the food is delicious and the service is great. It was quickly added to the list of top ten breakfast spots. This corned beef hash snob was quite impressed with their version. Not dry at all with the perfect corned beef to potatoes balance. You can tell they bake all of the breads and throw in a little extra love when they do.. the biscuit was melt in your mouth. In McMinnville...be sure to have breakfast here.

First time here for a Saturday brunch. The space is very nice...cozy and nice layout. We both ordered the two egg breakfast with bacon -- wife subbed fruit (fresh cut pears) for toast. Pretty simple order...and eggs were cooked perfect for both of us. Potatoes were very good...albeit a large amount. Her fruit was nice as was my bread. We both agreed the bacon was way too salty...it made it hard to eat. Overall service was exceptional and price was in line with market...I would definitely recommend this place but beware with the bacon!

Creamed Chicken & Biscuits and Two Egg Breakfast Yummy food and great service! Big portions! Thanks Crescent Café

The pizza is thin crust, uses a better quality of pepperoni, and the bottom is crisply done. The Greek salad was a generous size, a large could easily be split. It had great quality ingredients in sliced kalamata olives and Mama Lil's peppers. If you threw them in whole, they would dominate the dish, sliced they complemented the dish along with the feta crumbles and cherry tomatoes. What was striking in a great way was that all the salad was ice cold and crunchy. Few restaurants take the care with that little detail. The self serve water was perfectly chilled too. They make deep dish as well. Honey Pie is order at the counter, they bring it to the table, and you bus. There is a covered patio outside, and inside long tables to share with chairs and seating upstairs. The staff was great and the service fast. Portland has been suffering from pizza problems of rising prices, shrinking slices, faulty financing, and general grumpiness. Honey Pie was a welcome break! Reasonably priced and tasty!

I am told...They had great alcoholic beverages (said half of our party-not everyone had alcohol). The food was mixed reviews. 1) steak bites were delicious. Blue cheese butter is thebomb.com. 2) everything else was sub par. Burger was supposed to be med-rare, came out well done/jerky. Pizza was raw dough, not melted cheese and they pulled it "because the sides were burning." They could have put foil around it and actually cooked it. OR recommend we stick with regular pizza dough when we confirmed we don't have an allergy but was wanting a "lighter" low carb pizza. They also had an anecdote of another customer who ordered the cauli pizza but served them regular dough and it was a true food allergy and a problematic experience for the customer (??? Why would you choose to share that? lol). Tbh a nuked hot pocket will cook the cheese better than our pizza was. Salads were ok. Nothing to rave about. Desserts were ok I'm told. Didn't have any myself. I was done at that point. Service needs improvement. Not just weird PTSD patronage stories shared, but I felt bad dragging family out to the area so I tried paying without them knowing, slipping the credit card toward the waitress without everyone at the table noticing. And she knocked the card out of my hand when reaching for plates, announcing that "your credit card fell." I don't care if it was my bday or not I wasn't going to make my family pay for this meal. I would not come back and I don't recommend it. For everything it was ~$160 +40 tip which I feel salty about giving considering the quality of our meal and service. I'm a good tipper regardless of experience because it's the right thing to do/pay it forward, etc. but I was pissed driving home lol for $200 I could have picked up steak and lobster and cooked at home.

Another Fabulous Breakfast at The Diner in McMinnville…read moreRating: We had another wonderful breakfast at The Diner in McMinnville. Our party of 4.5 was lucky to snag a spot on a typically busy Saturday morning; we must have hit the "sweet spot" because we arrived just before the line formed. A typical wait is 20-30 minutes for a table on weekends, but the food and service make it well worth it. We were greeted and seated quickly, and I really appreciated being offered a choice of seating. We opted for a booth, which worked perfectly for our little one in a booster seat. What made the visit truly special was the owner playing peek-a-boo with my grandson--such a sweet, personal touch that shows how much they care about their guests! The Diner is well-known for its boozy breakfast options. Our table enjoyed a Bloody Mary, Boozy Mimosas, and a Tequila Sunrise. All the drinks arrived quickly and were enjoyed tremendously. For the main course, we ordered: Breakfast Sandwich: Served on a soft, fluffy muffin with bacon and a perfectly cooked egg. Pork Chili Verde (Special): Served over cheddar grits with fresh salsa, crème fraîche, and crispy tortilla chips. Absolutely INCREDIBLE! Chicken Fried Steak: A family favorite that resulted in a "clean plate" as usual. Crispy Chicken Club Sandwich: Another lovely, solid meal. Another fantastic visit with great food and even better service. We will definitely be back!
