I came into the restaurant this morning with my nonverbal 6-year-old son and was waiting for my daughter-in-law to join us. Right from the beginning, I was very impressed with the service. We were seated in a booth upon request while we waited for her to arrive. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating to my son. When my daughter-in-law joined us, Amy took our order right away. I kid you not--I got everything I wanted from the menu and it was worth every penny spent, my son got a teddy bear pancake (which was reasonably priced), and I was even able to add an egg to my Western burger. My daughter-in-law placed her order, and off the waitress went. Moments later, our food arrived. It was fast, hot, and absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, my daughter-in-law received the wrong meal, but Amy worked her magic again. She immediately took ownership of the mistake and corrected it without us having to do much more than point it out. Afterward, they let my son pick out a toy. He ended up choosing two, and because he has nonverbal autism and doesn't get out much, that small act of kindness meant the world to me. No one stopped him or complained about him picking more than one. It was heartwarming because I often feel judged over little things by people who don't know our story. Instead, we felt genuinely welcomed here. I danced in the car and sang to my son all the way home because I was so happy after our experience. Our server was amazing; you could tell she enjoyed what she did. When my husband got home from work, I couldn't stop gushing about what a wonderful experience we had together. We will absolutely be back, and I'll be bringing more people with me! read more

Cricket Country Kitchen looks like a diner out of a 40s or 50s western. It's filled with old western kitsch, padded booths, and an electric train chugging around the dining room from an overhead track. The food is just as good as the decorations. I had a hearty turkey burger that was loaded with fresh produce and came with a mountain of steak fries. They were big, thick, and crispy. Just how I like em! They came with a big serving of ranch for dipping! The employees were so warm and welcoming, it didn't feel like I was eating at a restaurant. More like visiting a friend's for lunch. I haven't visited this place in over 15 years. It looks just the same, the food is still great, and the prices are unbeatable. They always serve you on plates larger than standard size. I've rated it four stars because of an incident involving an argument between a former employee and a current employee, who were shouting at each other across the restaurant. First time here and what a breakfast and amazing service. Ordered the country fried steak and waffle, coffee and a side of bacon crispy. Jennifer was our server. The country fried steak is freshly made, with a crunch batter but soft and tender inside. Really good - the only complaint - it needed to be bigger (gluttony is a problem). The gravy it was smothered in was flavorful, striking the right balance of salty, sausage and creamy goodness. The eggs were plentiful and cooked perfectly. The waffle was large and while it wasn't the best ever, it was good. The amount of butter provided could be increased - maybe a cup of butter instead of the little prepacked butter. The bacon was crispy and very good. Just the way I like it. What made all of this great was the service. Not only did she take care of us, me and my buddy were catching up so we sat there a while, and she still served us long after eating. Also when we left I had left my sunglasses behind. For those of you old enough to remember a show called Cheers, you'll remember it was a friendly neighborhood bar.Well, cricket country kitchen is the equivalent for great breakfast and lunch, and when i'm there, I feel like Norm! The menu is classic diner food, ranging from breakfast with Chicken Fried steak, biscuits and gravy, (a particular favorite of mine) to possibly, what is the best BLT in town. Everything is made from scratch every day, including roasting their turkey and beef for their open face sandwiches and delicious homemade soups just like mom made. Monday through friday, they have blue plate specials, which include a rather large serving of their peach cobbler, which is spectacular! My granddaughter, who is 2, is a particular fan of the restaurant and loves all the servers who are wonderfully kind to her (and me!) Whether you're there on your own or with a massive group, the service is wonderful. The food comes out in a timely manner and the prices are incredible value. I can't recommend this place enough and to prove it, we usually go at least once a week and have them for probably the last five years since we found it. Ignore any negative reviews, because they're absolutely wrong! This is the place to come if you're hungry because you'll go home full and happy! It appeared to be busy busy, however the staff sat groups quickly. our waitress was on it, coffee and water, then our order all arrived much faster than expected based on how busy it was. If you enjoy sitting at a breakfast table for 15 minutes completely invisible to the staff, you'll love it here. We were seated and then promptly forgotten about--not even offered a glass of water, let alone a coffee or drink order to start the morning. The best part? Home run! A friend referred me here and cannot have been most happiest that we have this as our number one fave breakfast place now. Yolanda was the perfect one to have set the tone. Aggie the cook (14 years with this place) had our meal out in a blink of an eye and my dude said the chef knows how to make a medium rare steak. The best he's ever had! This place is the PERFECT hole-in-the-wall breakfast food location. I mean the ambiance, the food, the teamwork amongst the staff...it just all adds up for the most amazing meal you will have. I got an omelet, my dad got Belgium waffle with w basted eggs and bacon (the meal he always gets). He orders his bacon such that "if you dropped it, it would break. They nailed his order and my was scrumptious. Their fruit and pumpkin pancakes were so great that I'd be remiss to not mention them. Pumpkin is their flavor or the month and those pancakes were such soft melt-in-your-mouth ones with just the right amount of pumpkin flavor. That fruit was so ripe and tasty! Just left this place and had to leave this review... Worst service ever! My daughter was not allowed to do her usual substitution and we felt as if they wanted us to leave. lAfter we were seated, an employees family showed up with noise makers staff made sure they were well taken care of and we were ignored. We Couldn't get more drinks or even a box. We usually tip very well.. we still left a 25% tip but just think what you would have received if we were not. It's a cozy little diner, not a bad place. Service is always welcoming and attentive, usually the food is good but this time it was ok. My husband got the French dip but it wasn't hot. Still good though. I got Ham and eggs and country potatoes, they don't do hash browns but the potatoes are seasoned and yummy so I don't mind. The sourdough they sell as theirs and it is very good, nice sized pieces and butter perfectly. The coffee is decent and served in it's own insulated pot for your table. Just cause this one visit wasn't it's usual level doesn't mean I don't suggest coming here. It's typically very good. But I am basing my review off this visit and it could have been better. We used to love this place and have always raved about their food food. We finally made it back here after several years and we were so excited! Unfortunately, they must have gotten a new cook or management changed. The food wasn't what it used to be. The potatoes were cold and not crispy like they used to. My first bite was of cold somewhat hard potatoes. This place used to be so good, we would come here every weekend. What happened!? Service is still good and friendly. The biscuits and gravy were delicious and most places I've tried the gravy is not hot but this place the gravy is hot and flavorful along with thick moist biscuit but it's not overly think to the point where you'll get too full. As we were being led to our table we were asked if we wanted coffee and before I even sat down we had coffee! And a pot left on our table. I ordered the Mr. Huge chicken fried steak and it was no lie. Fried perfect and the steak was good quality. My sides were two perfectly cooked over medium eggs, fried potatoes and a biscuit. The portions were enough for two people. I actually quartered everything but my eggs since there was no way I could eat even half of this. The biscuit worried me at first because it looks like a piece of cornbread by how it was cooked and cut but it was super moist and good flavor.
