My review will be a mixed one and will explain why the one star. The bucolic atmosphere of Osterville was great, a beautiful sunny spring day with a temperate climate and seeing my friend were the only good things at Crisp Flatbread. A very clean restaurant with minimalist decor was pleasing to the eye. What followed was poor. When I opened the main door, I was greeted, presumably by the host, with the following three words. "We're not open", delivered in an unpleasant abrupt tone of voice was the welcome!! No pleasantries such as please come back shortly or you are welcome to sit in our garden until we do open. My friend arrived and by this time, the restaurant was serving. We decided to eat outdoors. Our server Matt was most amenable. I ordered the truffles frites and a glass of Prosecco. The latter was great; the former a disaster. Dried up and shrivelled fries with No Taste. As to any truffle oil, I discerned nothing. The whole dish was a congealed mess of potatoes, cut way too thinly to be called pommes frites. Any self respecting French person would be wise to avoid this dish at all costs. Normally I would have sent this disaster of a starter back to the kitchen. I was so engaged in conversation with my friend that I ignored that gesture. An oversight on my part as chefs/cooks need to be told when they have done a cockup of a dish. A combination of where the wine had been placed and a bit of unsteadiness, resulted in the almost full glass being spilled. Naturally I asked for another Prosecco, which as I did mention was good. That said imagine my shock, when the restaurant charged for the replaced wine. Now we all know that the markup on wine is not only high, but provides ample revenue for the establishment. I have eaten and had a glass of wine at restaurants all over the world. And certainly there have been other occasions when a drink has been spilled by myself or by another mishap. Never, but NEVER has any other restaurant charged for a replacement glass. Incidentally no one came to clean the table and it's not as if the restaurant was busy. Again, proper establishment will certainly make an effort to clean up any spills. Now I never have a problem speaking up about a bad dish or some other unreasonable and or unpleasant happening, but because I was so involved in the conversation, I just let these various poor incidents slide. Again apart from our server Matt, my friend with whom I was lunching and the lovely sunny day, I cannot give it more than one star. A great disappointment as I had been told that Crisp Flatbread was a good place to eat. So in summation, diners (as in people) beware. read more

The service here was great, but for this to be a flatbread restaurant I found my pizza to be quite bland. We also ordered truffle fries and those were very tasty but other than that the food was extremely mediocre. read more

Was so excited to try this place and overall had a really positive experience! Things I liked: THE FOOD - had the truffle frites and garlic knots for an appetizer, then the duck bacon and red bliss pizzas. Everything tasted amazing and I loved that there were both new and exciting options (like the duck bacon pizza) and classics (like the Margherita pizza) The atmosphere - we didn't sit outside, but I loved the fire pits. So cozy for the fall and I loved that you could get s'mores for your way out. Things that could have been better: Portion sizes: going into the restaurant, I thought that the pizzas were personal size, but they're 14 inches and that's the only option. It worked out for a party of 5 (we ordered three pizzas and took home leftovers), but I think personal flatbreads would be a great option. read more

Took my mommy to Crisp today for lunch and was warmly greeted by Jane. We had a wonderful young lady wait on us and we got the $11 lunch salad and flatbread pizza, followed by a spectacular dessert that we split. We were so full we took half our pizzas home, the entire meal with drinks only $35! The quality of the food outstanding, this is the first place I have eaten that made me feel gladly obligated to reward with a 5 Star Review! Wow we had a great experience here today. We were traveling from out of town so I had to ask for multiple favors and the hostess and manager were exceptionally accommodating to my every request. The outside space made for an enjoyable meal for 3 young kids who had been on the road most of the day. And the meatball sub was the best I've had in years. I wanted to like Crisp. As someone who was recently diagnosed as Celiac this seemed like the pizza option was going to be top-notch. It wasn't. It really, really wasn't. First, plan to pay an extra $4 for a gluten-free crust. Then plan for that gluten-free pizza only to be a personal size. Then plan for that gluten-free crust to be the worst pizza crust you've ever had. It tasted and had the consistency of the pizza we were given in our high school cafeteria. I couldn't have been more disappointed. Expensive, limiting, and tasted bad. I wish I had the awesome experience that everyone else is having. read more

Really good. Great beer and wine selection, good atmosphere, yummy flatbread pizza. I went the first night it opened and there were no glitches that would be expected for new restaurant. They use local ingredients and have gluten free options for everything. There's a good sized bar with two tvs overlooking the wood fired pizza oven. Seriously, when you are done with all the fried food and lobster rolls, go here. I am a chef in NYC and everything was flawless. I arrived, it was supposed to be a half hour wait (didn't know how popular it was) so it took an hour. Luckily, there was an outside bar and games for children. It does seem to me that they could throw a few more tables inside but it's their call, not mine. I ordered straightaway. Wings, Caesar, truffle fries, pizza and pasta. The Caesar was terrific, I love a cold plate when someone serves it as well. Very garlicky. Just enough hint of lemon and fish. Croutons were lovely, unfortunately my family ate them all! The wings were fantastic as well, not so much garlic though. The char was great and then I believe they finish them in the oven. Yum! Fries were shoestring and good, not so much truffle though. I think truffle oil and not truffle salt would go further. Let me get to the Vongole pasta. THE BEST CLAM PASTA I HAVE EVER HAD. The lemon zest combined with the way the chef emulsified the sauce needs to be commended. Out-fricking-standing!!!!! The pasta was fresh and cooked correctly. I had to hold myself back and wrap it up so I could decipher what had been done. Still haven't eaten the pizza as I just got home and full. The prices were super reasonable and service was very sweet and prompt. I ran to Hyannis as a quick trip and was quite crabby since we got there late. Happened to catch this incredible place going home out of the side of my eye. It was the best thing that happened that day! Crabby NO MORE! This is a place that I will always go out of my way for. Like others, I really wanted to love this place. It's needed, looks cool and the people in the front are very friendly. However, the service was off/slow and the food mediocre. I was dying for basic meatballs and pasta and what I got was disappointing. We arrived at opening and seemed to get leftovers - meatballs (3) were small, hard, tasteless and warm not hot. Pasta was watery and luke warm at best. The focaccia on the side was indelible - dense, hard and completely tasteless. Worst I've ever had. My wife did like her shrimp scampi (see picture) so perhaps I just picked the wrong thing. Either way, I'll give it another try but can't and wouldn't recommend the meatballs and would only use the focaccia to bait my line. read more

We love this place. They make it fun, even while you wait with a great fire pit, bag toss game and ping pong. And it's a good thing because you ALWAYS have to wait. Even if you order take-out, you can expect an hour wait during peak times. The outdoor seating is terrific and takes advantage of the great Cape weather. Fun bar and great drinks. We always order the short-rib pizza and the farm pizza. Any pizza can be made gluten-free and it's a decent tasting crust. They have great wings and a goat cheese veggie dip for appetizers.
