I honestly have no idea how I never wrote a review for this place because I have been coming here for 14 years and always stop in when I am visiting Myrtle Beach. This is the place that started my love for dueling piano bars and since coming here I have always tried to look for them in different states wherever I go. In my 14 years of research I am certain this has to be the best one in the country because nothing ever seems to come close. It is always a great time here. The bar does not usually get packed until 10pm and there's a cover charge to get in. My recommendation is to get here early if you want a table because this place tends to get packed! Ambiance is lively and fun and the service I have received here has always been good. The piano players are really fun and they enjoy interacting with the crowd. If getting drunk and singing great tunes in a room filled with people is your idea of fun, you will love it here! read more

We went to crocodile rocks dueling piano bar on my birthday and it was so disappointing. The drinks are so weak, I didn't get a buzz at all. The drinks were huge and $30 each, I ordered these drinks and left more sober than I arrived. The piano players are very greedy here, I tipped $20 and they didn't even play my song, but they played the song really fast when someone tipped $40. They had a board for where they wrote the birthday wishes for who tipped the most and then they erase the previous name only when someone tips more. Someone tipped $61 and was replaced by someone who tipped $65. This is another example to show you just how greedy they are, but my partner played along because he thought it would be cute to get my name on the board on my birthday, so he tipped $70 but they didn't erase the previous name off and put ours. Not sure if it was because we were gay or what but they didn't do it for us, but they were doing it for others. We spent hundreds of dollars here and we don't feel like we got treated right at all. The bouncer was flashing bright lights on my partners ID, and hesitated to let him in even though it's a valid California ID. The club cashier said it was a $10 entry fee for both of us, and it was cash only and we had to use the atm and pay a $4 fee each just to take out $5 each. Total rip-off. Everything about this place just sucks, especially compared to piano bars we have been used to in Texas. I wish they had a Pete's dueling piano bar in this town, those are always so much fun. read more

So since my hotel was walking distance away from BATB, a dueling piano bar sounded like great entertainment idea. It cost ten bucks to get in and even without a reservation, we grabbed two seats at the back bar, giving us a perfect view of the stage. Of course, we did get there at 7 and were among the first to arrive. I ordered a Jack and ginger and sat down for the show. We were among the first people in the club when it opened at 7, but by 8:30, it became super loud and crowded. The chief culprits was the bachelor party, probably about 10 or 11 guys. And in addition to paying for requests, they also have a board called "3 Words Or Less." It starts at $1 and if you pay more than the amount on the board, you can request any message on the board that you want. And it turned political and sexual quite quickly, so just beware of the adult humor! With the bar getting more and more crowded, we left around 9:30 pm. We came here during tourist season around 10:30 on a Saturday night. It was standing room only that was available. I guess you call to make reservations for tables. There was plenty of room to stand. The energy here was phenomenal. Everyone was singing along and the musicians were playing everyone's requests. Everyone who played had great voices and we're very talented. They also interacted with the crowd a lot which was fun. I'll definitely be back! read more

My boyfriend and I are new residents of Myrtle beach and our 2 friends were visiting us from Tennessee. were walking around the boardwalk at the beach and saw the crocodile rocks place and thought it would be fun for us to go to dinner. We asks the two young men that were at the podium outside the restaurant if we could have a reservation for 4 people for that night. They had the reservation list in front of them in plain view and just by glancing at it, we could see that it was not busy at all. It was a Wednesday after all, but they said that we could not make a reservation through them and we needed to call or go online to make it. So we got the number and website and sat down to proceed. The website reservation section wasn't working so we called the number we had to leave a message on an answering machine with our request and they said we would get a call back. No one ever called back..... ever. We tried the website again and again and it still wasn't working. We went elsewhere and had a fabulous night. Too bad... Stayed here for 2 hours just listening to the artists play song after song. They're very unfiltered so be warned. Every one if the pianist were skilled in more than 1 instrument. My friends made reservation a table for our friend's bachelorette party. I believe the table for 6 was $100 and then it's something like $10/15 cover per person. This was super fun. I was at Crocodile Rock last night with some friends. At first, I was having a great night. The atmosphere was fun, the staff were kind, and the performers were REALLY talented. There was even a bathroom attendant, and she was absolutely wonderful. I had never been into a bathroom with an attendant before. I wish I could write a good review that reflected all the fun aspects of this venue, but by the end of the night, I left extremely UNCOMFORTABLE. At some point in the night, the performers invited a couple of beautiful young girls to the stage to celebrate their birthdays. They both had SUPER cute outfits on, but it was quickly noticed by the performers that they were very revealing. (I say "performers" but it was mostly that old guy with the blond mullet that the top is so thin it's transparent). The girls had jackets on because the venue was rather cold, and their dresses did not cover their shoulders. The performer instructed them to remove the jackets and even had the crowd chanting "jackets off". After the girls had taken them off, they proceeded to play "Head, Shoulders, knees, and toes". When it came time to bend over and touch their toes, one of the girls bent her knees to touch her toes so she didn't have to bend over in her dress. They stopped the music and informed the girls that they were "not allowed" to bend their knees. The lyrics included instructions to touch their "t*ts and a**". Later in the song, the old blond guy added "nuts" as a body part for them to touch as he spread his legs. This behavior was encouraged by the crowd, in my opinion. As a young woman myself, it just made me disappointed and uncomfortable. There is a sign by the stage that warns patrons of their crass humor, but this did not seem like a joke to me. No punchline, just blatant sexualization. From what I saw, this is just the type of establishment the Crocodile Rock dueling pianos bar is. I will not be returning, and I will HIGHLY discourage anyone, especially young ladies, from going either. read more

So we didn't have any food, but people seemed to be enjoying what they ordered. We were seated at the bar area on stools looking at the stage. No waitress ever came up to anyone there and asked if they wanted a drink or something to eat. Drink wise, not a big deal as the bar was about five feet behind us, but you would have thought they would have. Cover charge was $10 per person and you could have made reservations. Seemed like most of the people there knew each other, but maybe everyone was just friendly? Anyway...let's talk about the music. There were two pianos with the players facing each other. The players really pounded on them and their singing was almost incomprehensible at times. So, the sound system was loud! Since most of the songs were known by everyone, you knew what they were singing even if you didn't know what they were singing. The players were a mixed bag. They ranged from decent to good. I can't say anyone was great, although a few knew how to get the crowd going more than others. Some songs requested weren't really meant for the piano, but the players did a good job with them. A lot of songs that weren't honky tonk, turned into honky tonk. That didn't make them bad, just different. Four players and they alternated by pairs every hour it seemed. I didn't request a song because we were only there for two hours and it seemed like the amount of money people were putting down with their suggestions was more than I had in cash. There was a Venmo option, but there was no wifi service. Odd that. The waitress told us they did away with WiFi because too many people were using it. Hello? Why have a Venmo option if you can't get service. Sigh. I did have a good time, but having gone to Legends and the Carolina Opry the two nights before, this kind of paled in comparison. Pretty dark inside, but certainly entertaining. This place can accommodate large groups. Full bar with helpful bartenders who could be nicer. You could tell they just wanted to close for the night. Piano players were talented, funny, high energy and drew in the people and kept them there. The locations on Broadway at the Beach is very convenient to the larger parking lot and I felt safe walking between the two locations. The restrooms could have been a lot cleaner, late night isn't an excuse to me. What a great place. We made reservations for Saturday night and were seated right in front which was great. Our server was very nice and bubbly, we started with these big drinks that were good but not strong (I believe they were called Malibu breeze) This has been my second time going to a dueling piano bar and this one was great. They do a great job entertaining everyone and they are hilarious. They strongly encourage a $5 tip in order for them to play your song. Our group of 11 had a great time and I was sad we had to leave early since some people wanted to watch the boxing fight at another bar. My friend paid our bill in cash and the waitress came back with the same bill and said we never paid and forced me to pay a $70 tab twice.... went up to the manager after closing and he says "oh ya she told me the whole situation.. apparently you guys put down cash on the bill and she didn't know what it was for". The boss wouldn't even check the cameras for me. Me and my friends are full time students and can not afford to pay $80 twice for something we already paid for. I found this very entertaining. We went on a Saturday night 1000PM. We paid a $10 cover charge which I thought was a little steep but I guess they do that to keep out the common riff raff. The staff were attentive for drinks but if you want anything complex you will be disappointed. The musicians put on a good show (both comedy and musical). If you are soft skinned or easily embarrassed this might not be the place for you but for the rest of us it is great. The "3 words or less" game was hilarious. Between cover, drinks and tips for the musicians you will spend a lot of money but you will have a fun night out. I would return and would recommend to my friends. read more

We checked this place out due to great reviews. We probably won't go back. The review that mentioned the degrading comments, gestures and jokes toward women was right on. They would shout out to different tables full of women that they were "hot" or "sexy bi%@!es" or that they saw a lot of "hoes" in the audience. So, those sesitive to that sort of thing should stay away. Two of the four players were the culprits. There were four pianists that would team tag the entertainment throughout the night. They did a nice ensemble with piano, keyboard and drums for certain songs. They were definitely talented, and a couple more than the other two. We enjoyed the guy that was able to pull of old school rap songs and the Dr. Seus rap of Green Eggs and Ham. They played a lot of oldies and the crowd was mixed with 50/50 more mature audience (50-60yrs old) and 21-35yr olds It was nice that there was second floor seating to be able to watch the entertainment, but there was no dance floor and the setup was a little awkward compared to other piano bars I've been to. You have to get there between 7 & 8 to not have to pay the $10 cover. Bars were located upstairs and down stairs, which was convenient. Drinks were cheap, and I have to wonder if there was any alcohol in the jello shots... certainly didn't seem like it. But after two beers, 5 jello shots and two rum & cokes our bar tab was less than $40. read more

They have two piano players at the bar, and they take donations to sing requests. They will also have fun contests- for example, the night we were there, they were trying to see what college's fans would donate the most money. Then they would play the fight song of whatever college was in the lead. My alma mater, Michigan, was the winner that night so it was fun to see my fight song being blasted in a Myrtle Beach bar. You get a pretty good mix of genres too. They played rock, country, pop, and even hip hop. The place was packed by 9 pm so get there early. It's a very popular bachelorette party spot too.
