Crooked Mile is a really cute little coffee shop. My friends and I stopped by on our way back to Boston to fuel up before the ride. They have all the necessities, including your standard coffee drinks and plenty of sandwich options. The service was a bit on the slower side, given it's a smaller shop, but that's to be expected. I'd be happy to come back again!

The vibe in here is super cute, and we loved all of the drink options. Our breakfast sandwiches were decent. My chai was a little too sweet, but my husband enjoyed his coffee!

Cozy little coffee shop with pastries and a nice menu of sandwiches. Friendly staff, service was a bit slow but there isn't a lot of space to move around. Some tables inside and I think during good weather there is seating outside.

Crooked Mile has become one of my favorite little sandwich spots. They have a good-sized menu for coffee drinks, and a big sandwich/salad selection (basically anything you can get as a sandwich or wrap can also be a salad). Fancy? Nope. Reliably delicious? Definitely! A couple of my favorites are the Greek wrap, the Cobb salad or wrap, and the Buffalo chicken wrap, which has a wonderfully spicy dressing. You can sit inside or out, but I tend to grab and go--the Brighton Ave. location is easy to swing into on your way somewhere else. Very friendly staff too, and my orders never take long even at peak times. The Old Port location for some reason doesn't have the same vibe and I definitely recommend the Brighton spot in particular. Stop by!

This is my favorite midday stop, they're helpful, patient, and the drinks are good! There's an endless list of things to try thanks to all their flavored syrup options. It's a cozy, cute interior with outdoor picnic benches. I haven't tried the food

What a great location, well for me that is. But isn't they what my review is? My perspective. Yes sir It works well for me when I have to work I Portland. I can drop my dog off at a Happy Tails then cross over on Stevens Ave and then campus down the street. Very convenient. They open early enough to be ready when I arrive. The staff is so friendly and make a pretty good iced vanilla latte. They have a great bakery selection but if you get there before 7:30 you might have to ask as they are prepping the items out back for display. They usually arrive a bit after 7:00. Yeah, I go there often to know the morning routine. The bagels are great and hit the spot, but they get it all. Muffins, scones, bagels, and the fancy ones too. Glad they were able to reopen after the drive thru incident. Those who frequent know what I am talking about. They do offer ice cream as well, but have not experienced that part yet. But look forward. Check it out, get a coffee and a treat as you are passing by but not through. :-)

Overall, I enjoyed this place! It was a cute and a nice vibe. Small, neighborhood cafe, with extensive choices for lunch and breakfast. The workers themselves were very nice and accommodating to my strong hatred for tomatoes. They had drinks that you could chose from and you got a free bag of chips. They had limited seating inside and practically none outside which was a bummer if I do say so myself. The sandwiches themselves were overall, mid. It was disappointing to say the least, and due to the amount of money I know owe my sister because I "forgot my wallet" it's safe to say i'm unimpressed. But, it was a nice outing and a good place for me to successfully avoid going to classes!

This is a great little spot. The kind of spot you hope is in your neighborhood. Great sandwiches and coffee for breakfast with fast service! Looking forward to trying them out for lunch!

Friendly and quick service keeps me coming back. The salads are filling and delicious, and so are the drinks! I find it very convenient to use the online ordering system and just run in to pick up my order--typically it is ready in less than 10 minutes. Ask for the snickerdoodle latte made extra sweet!

Their sandwiches are made very well with fresh ingredients. Pricing is in line. It's a quick in and out to get on your way.

This place is a food haven: small, cozy, affordable, and absolutely delicious. I came for dinner with my partner on a weekday evening, and it was totally empty except for one other party. The space is pretty small, but has a very quaint, homey atmosphere: think ambient lighting, darker wood, a simple menu. The service was fantastic. We were immediately welcomed in, and our waiter checked in on us often. We ordered the crab wontons to start, the Kuno chicken sandwich, and a fried rice that I now am forgetting the name of and can't locate on the online menu. We also ordered two cocktails. Everything came out hot and was absolutely delicious: you can just tell that the food here is made with love. The crab wontons were jaw-droppingly good -- I'll definitely be getting that again -- as was the fried rice, which had tender strips of chicken and that elusive wok hei that I've struggled to find in Portland restaurants. The fried chicken sandwich was great too, though smaller portioned. My partner and I tend not to order cocktails at restaurants, since so often you're getting three sips worth of a drink for something like $15, but Kuno's cocktails were such a treat. They were unique, tasty, complex, and actually sizable -- my cocktail kept me hydrated through the entirety of my entree, which is rare these days! Overall: I'm so grateful to have stumbled upon this spot. I can't wait to return!

I've driven down Cumberland Avenue countless times and somehow never noticed Kuno. It's an easy…read morespot to miss -- definitely in "hole in the wall" territory --but it's one worth finding. On a recent snowy Saturday night, we were looking for a casual, affordable sit-down dinner. The challenge? It's Portland, so most places close by 9 pm. Kuno, open until 11 pm, was a welcome surprise. The restaurant has a cozy, neighborhood feel with plenty of free street parking nearby. When you walk in, the bar area is the first thing you see. It almost feels like the bar's the whole restaurant, but there's a small dining room tucked in the back. The bar itself seemed like a great spot to grab a cocktail and a bite, and I'd come back just for that. The menu isn't huge, but it has a solid variety. I stole a bite of my husband's spicy chicken sandwich, and it was easily a 10/10. The bread was fluffy, the chicken thick and juicy, and the slaw on top gave it a yummy twist. My ground chicken with basil came with a crispy fried egg, but it leaned a little salty. I also assumed the egg would be sunny-side up, which was on me. I'd still order it again, but the chicken sandwich was the clear winner. We also got a few apps: the wings were juicy with a generous portion, the pork dumplings were delish, and the crab wontons, while tasty, leaned more cream cheese than crab filling. Drinks-wise, they offered cocktails, beer, and even full bottles of wine; we ordered a $40 bottle of Italian red. Our two entrées, three apps, and wine came to about $110, which felt reasonable for the portions and quality, especially given the area. We left happy and will definitely be back when we're in the mood for no-frills Thai food. Kuno is exactly that -- homey, unpretentious, and casual, but still a place where you can order a reasonably priced bottle of wine and get solid service.

"Heaviness" is pretty subjective depending on the toppings. The pizza - Soppresatta was packed with flavor, salty, spicy, little sweet from a touch of honey and a very fresh, slightly punchy sauce - keeps some acidity and tastes lively. The crust was delicious, from what I read, this is a sourdough crust. Definitely had some good character and flavor to it.. I got this heated before eating it. The vegan special - obviously I'm not vegan, but that pizza looked phenomenal. Had to try it. This one did not get heated up as it was suggested to leave it cold (logical considering it basically has a salad on top). I don't know what the vegan cheese was but it tasted like a whipped ricotta/goat cheese would. The fresh tomato, pickled peppers and red onion all played perfectly together. I'd certainly go back here. A little on the pricey side but I think it rang in around $18 on these 2 slices (yes, pictured is considered a slice of each) I was plenty satisfied.

It was a scrumptious combo and I thought the bagel itself was a very good bagel. Each addition is a bit pricey - $4.50 each for the egg and turkey bacon, for example. In general for their own specialty bagels or for a combo of three things you make yourself, you're looking at a $15+ bagel. However, said bagel also comes with an enjoyable ambiance. It's a bit indie/cutesie/intentionally lighthearted but very enjoyable. There are window seats to look out on to the street and a whole separate large room of tables that would make for a good place to get some work done if that is the goal. There is sweet gift section with the Russ & Daughters story/cookbook, t shirts, and clever hand-designed cards. The service was hit or miss - one employee was very attentive, another seemed annoyed to have to serve customers (although in a NYC deli, after which this place appears to take its inspiration, a little grinchiness perhaps makes the experience more authentic). All around, a few small negatives, but I really enjoyed my bagel and its surroundings, so five stars. UPDATE - I went back a second time and got basically the same thing minus the turkey bacon ie a bagel with cream cheese and an egg, and an iced coffee. Came out to about $15. I think their prices are just unreasonably high unfortunately and the egg the second time around fell flat.
