Nice clean diner. They have booth seating and a large table dining area. Good for large parties. It's was just me, so I ordered the bacon cheese omelette. To my surprise, the cheese was American slices. For a change it tasted really good (but if you prefer cheddar, you should request). In town to visit my husband's great uncle, this is a restaurant he regularly visits and wanted us to try before we got back on the road. When we arrived they were not the busy but the hostess informed us they were going to be getting a rush soon. Large seating room that also has counter seating next to the dessert display. The restrooms and building are clean. While it is nice to have the air conditioning on the vents drip water on the table; believe only on the tables closer to the windows. We all ordered from the breakfast specials offered. They have a large selection of specials. The specials also come with juice, coffee, or tea. I ordered the French toast with scrambled eggs and bacon. My husband ordered a classic eggs Benedict with hash browns, and his great uncle had two fried eggs with crispy hash browns. There wasn't a kids meal so we ordered a fruit salad and one scrambled egg for my son. The servers were polite, didn't have much to say. The food came out quickly. We decided to go to Crossbay Diner. I usually never comment about our local businesses, but something needs to be said. The interaction between the manager, Pablo, and a waitress was so disrespectful that it turned everyone off. He treated this waitress less than human and degraded her in front of everyone. Based on this interaction, he appears to have no respect for his staff, and he comes off as very standoffish when he talks to the public as if he has a right to treat us badly. We are the customers, and we spend our money not to see the bad treatment of others, The latest thing is that they raised their prices yet again, but now they actually list a cash price and, next to it, a price if you use your credit card. I have never seen this before, and it is a bad business practice and looks terrible. The inevitable demise of Esquire Diner will mean that Crossbay Diner's profits will soar by at least 50% increase, and the new menus with the higher prices and now the pay-by-credit card prices are a slap in the face. Crossbay Diner will be the only diner, with Lindenwood Diner and Atlantic Diner being the nearest diners. This will make Crossbay Diner the most profitable diner, and they are still trying to squeeze every penny they can from us. After seeing the horrible treatment and disrespect shown towards the employees and now the new higher-priced menus, this is one establishment I will no longer patronize. read more

I've been here a couple of times & enjoyed their food but this time I wasn't too satisfied with my order. They forgot to give me waffle fries like I had asked for(got regular fries) my chicken wrap was way too full of avocado & the mozzarella sticks were dry & over cooked..they usually taste good but this time they only tasted OKAY cause of the homemade pink sauce I had made of my own. Next time I'll definitely just go with what I originally wanted instead of choosing something different or tell them to go light on the avocado. We were heading to Kennedy Airport and had some extra time before the flight. This was not the first time we had been to this restaurant, nor will it be our last! There is a wide choice of items on the menu, so that each of us could get exactly what we wanted. My daughter had pancakes, my husband had a burger, I had soup and a salad and my son had chicken nuggets. All of the food was quite good and the service was great! Our visit was enhanced by the view out the window of a marina and the inlet. We were served quickly, but were not rushed. Our drinks were promptly refilled and our waitress brought us the check quickly when we asked for it. The only issue which we encountered is that the bathrooms are off of a hallway which has an emergency exit door. The outside temperature was in the 20's, and this hallway was probably that cold!
