My husband and I were in town for a conference and decided to stop by to get our WOD in. Trainer Taylor was very welcoming and showed us around before starting the workout. They are well-equipped and the other members we worked out with were very nice as well. Great experience and we will definitely be back next time we are in town. Lindsay and Aaron and the entire staff are just absolutely amazing. I have tried all the other gyms around the area and this one is absolutely the best by far. I remember when I was looking for a drastic change to lose some weight. This place definitely did that for me. The time I was there, I lost about 40lbs in about 4 months. It was the combination of hard work in the gym and good nutrition. Everything that I've learned from this place, made me a much better person. They were able to get me out of my comfort zone and made me perform at a level that I never could imagined. Unfortunately, I now reside in Seattle, WA and I will miss this place. Crossfit Costa Mesa is a high end facility with great coaches. Coaches that focus on movement and form over weight and aggression.

CFCM is my one and only experience with crossfit and I love it. I have no desire to try a new gym. The workouts are always challenging I feel so rewarded when it's done. I really enjoy offsite workouts every now and then to keep things interesting. Everyone (staff and members) is so welcoming and ready to help when needed! I must say...I'm hooked! read more

Dropping in for about a week while on vacation. Facility is great and fully equipped. Staff is friendly and drop in rates are reasonable. Hard to believe this gym is in OC. Non of the typical OC trappings. Great energy, the people that run, manage and work here are genuine and share passion and enthusiasm for Crossfit - non of the BS typically found in OC. The space is excellent, straight forward, functional. A pretty exceptional space for Crossfit. There is lots of room, the equipment is top of the line, and there is plenty of equipment. The coaches are exceptional. High level of service and commitment. Seem to really enjoy what they are doing. Small, tight group- both men and women coaches. The coaches focus on getting you to the next level, based on your individual skill, and personal goals. They are serious about what they do, but not intimidating. They create a real sense of team and community - you get the feeling that you are part of something pretty special. In addition there is a strong community outreach, CFCM supports a number of charitable organizations. Which I think says a lot about the coaches and about the type of people working out here. Members are pretty diverse -- nice mix of men and women. All ages. People are here to work out, they have fun, but they take their training pretty seriously. Good competitive vibe. Wide variety and levels of skill among members - a good number of the members compete. But the coaches easily make everyone feel comfortable, they do a really good job connecting on a personal level. High level of personalized attention. Coaches encourage members getting to know other members. Members and coaches seem to have fun. Work outs are really good, tough- some are brutal. They run the gamut and you cover a lot in each workout. They stress warming up, form, flexibility and strength. The programs progress and there is logic and methodology to them that help layer on skill, strength and endurance. Really a great spot and have enjoyed making the switch from one of the local "prestige" gyms to CFCM. Have brought a number of people by as guest and they too have really enjoyed the workout, the people and the overall vibe. Well done CFCM! read more

FANTASTIC! I have been CrossFitting for roughly a year and have visited 8 different boxes in my travels and this is by far the best. I joined several months ago and have loved it. Max, Gillian, Linds, Aaron, Bobbi, and Dakota are gifted instructors that encourage you to do your best while not letting you get by with lax form or effort. I would highly recommend this box for the facilities, staff and most importantly - the community that they have built. read more

I used to think I was in pretty good shape... but now that I've been working out at CFCM for a year, I'm beginning to understand what being in shape really feels like, and it feels really good. I'm in far better shape now that I was a year ago, and in many ways I feel stronger and more fit that ever. Did a drop in recently from San Francisco. I can't imagine any box where the staff isn't friendly, but I'll say it anyways; staff was welcoming and happy to have me visit. Two important items worth mentioning are the coaching and the facility itself. The coaches are very focused on technique/form and constantly call out any bad form and suggest improvements. I've never seen a facility this clean with so many amenities; clean restrooms with showers...WTF?? You could get ready for work from there! They said they wouldn't charge me for a drop in, but for $20 (standard drop in fee) I get a shirt, so that worked out. The WOD was a fun combination of heavy front squats then OH squats. Would definitely recommend this place to those looking for a box to call home. read more

All of the people I have met have been wonderful and great to get to know since I am new to the area! I absolutely love my box. They are so encouraging, but they also really push you hard just when you seem to need it. My biggest gripe about my having to travel quite often for work - next to missing my wife and kids - is missing my box. Seriously, you guys have made me feel right at home and I would consider this place as much family as I do my own. I spend nights watching and going over technique on youtube and what wakes me up at 5am on the dot without an alarm is knowing this community and these amazing coaches are waiting for me on the other end of my drive. read more

I had been introduced to CrossFit in San Diego about a month before moving to Orange County in January. I thought CrossFit as a whole was pretty humbling, considering I always thought I was in good shape, and I wanted to keep challenging myself with the workouts. I perused the Internet looking at different boxes in the Orange County area. I stumbled on CFCM and found they offered a less expensive membership than the other boxes in OC, so I gave it a shot. The facility was really nice - a lot nicer than the first affiliate I had gone to in SD; it was very spacious and clean and organized. One of the coaches, Bobbie, agreed to meet with me at a time convenient for me (6am... Thanks again!) to make sure I had the fundamental movements down, as newcomers usually have to take their on ramp classes before going to regular classes (safety and form first!). I passed and started going to the first class of the morning on a regular basis, and everyone there was extremely nice to me and welcoming. I'm very shy and not the most athletic person in comparison with most of the people I worked out with, but none of that mattered. People are very encouraging and inspirational, and the coaches are great. I'm motivated when people take the time to give positive feedback and constructive criticism, and that's exactly what the coaches give you. Unfortunately, I had to cancel my membership due to another move, but CrossFit Costa Mesa was such a positive experience for me, and I am continuing CrossFit at another affiliate. I miss the morning class, and I recently went to SoCal Regionals to cheer their awesome team on, as well as a couple individual competitors. I highly recommend CFCM, no matter your fitness level. It all seems a little (or a lot) intimidating, but no one will ever make you do anything you can't do; the workouts are scalable to be challenging but doable for each individual... and you will get a lot of encouragement! read more

This gym has a great staff (no ego, no attitude), great facilities (soon to be even bigger and better), and a great community of people. Can't say enough good things about this gym and the most telling thing may be that I live closer to 4 other Crossfit gyms but make the extra drive to be at this gym. Unfortunately despite the great amenities, location and clean facility. The staff can be quite arrogant and outright rude, often barking out orders quickly and not taking the time to explain the routines. As if they assume that because they understand the routine the members should as well. On many occasions I have noticed that new members seem lost or out of place. And on a few instances I have even heard the staff rudely answer a members' questions by barking a command to hold their questions to the end. O will compliment a few of the coaches for their attention to detail and commitment to their members success and improvement namely Mike, Dakota, Alex and Max. I strongly suggest a revamp of your staff or their attitude, they are there to teach and arrogance has ni place in this environment, if a member does not understand a movement and is discouraged from asking for direction they not only stand to stunt their success but risk serious injury as the human body can easily sustain injury by found these moves incorrecly. read more
