    Ranchero Steak w/ the usual.

I have always enjoyed their food, the lunch special was not that good, it was on the salty side and the meat was cut in very small pieces. I'll return but stay clear of the steak. Service was excellent.

I'm just going to count and say it, the food is just ok not great but ok. The service is ok, the mariachis were so load my ears were ringing. Crossroads has been there forever and I have had friends that love it, I understand that because it's overall experience is not that bad. I'm just not excited to go back.

This place was recommended by our customer since we were not from the area. I have gluten sensitivity so it was hard to communicate that to the staff who were super nice! So I opted for the rolled corn flautas . Super delicious!!! Both the chicken and the beef. My associate had the special chimichanga and was super pleased. The restaurant is super cute and the staff was excellent! I hope I make it back to try again!

TL;DR Ate before 5 in an empty restaurant and it took 45 minutes for the food. It was good though. We stopped in Crossroads on a recommendation from a local, and we're seated around 4 PM. The restaurant wasn't very busy, and we were seated quickly. Two of us got the Sonoran Hot Dogs, one tacos and one a beef burro. Sadly, it took 45 minutes for the food to arrive. This was my first experience eating the Sonoran Hot Dogs and they are crazy good. The tacos had a crazy good, crack-like sauce on the side. The burro was meh. Pretty bland tasting. The chips and salsa were really good. They serve Pepsi out of the fountain and Coke from the bottle.

Mexican Restaurant near the freeway to meet up with family coming from Sierra Vista. Met up at lunch time. Plenty of spacious seating. Friendly staff. Ordered cheese crisp appetizer, chips & salsa while we waited for everyone to arrive. We had Cheeseburger, chicken tenders, chicken flautas & shrimp enchiladas! We were craving so much. Haha. Good atmosphere had us munching & laughing. Good spot for good family time.

Crossroads is one of the first Tucson institutions we began visiting almost 12 years ago & after over a year...we finally went again without disappointment. We've taken quite a few family & friends for a meal & never had a bad experience. After seeing numorous family restaurants closed because of dumb politicians, it was awesome to find them open & to give them some money. Saturday afternoon gave them plenty of business & as usual, live local music. The crowds are diverse. Large & small families, dates, friends. They have a buffet on Sundays & it was always quite busy in the past. We were seated under the bull, which made me terribly happy. Even though we contemplated a different dish or 20, we went for mixed fajitas..have to ask for them, they aren't on the menu. Steak, chicken, shrimp, along with rice, beans, sour cream, guacamole. All meats were cooked perfectly. We added a super nacho with carne asada & chicken. We piled fajita onto nachos & had a wonderful lunch. As usual, the portions were so large the two dishes could have easily fed 4 to 6 people. We took home 3 large clamshells of leftovers. We didn't add any drinks. The experience was a $40 bundle of joy. Went home, watched The Sound of Music & took a nap.

If you're looking for a good place to eat in Tucson check out this place. They only have one big table but you can definitely sit together if you have a large group in the back. Friendly people and delicious food. If you like sweet corn and green chili tamales these are tasty.

I know alot of people who hate this place , i know alot of people who love this place ... i am a lover of the place . If im going to eat mexican im usually going to crossroads . I get but dont recommend if & only if your very picky on your carne seca. Its not dry , i love my seca dry but this place still has good flavorful carne seca , i always get it in a chimi with rice and beans . Recently i think they just started adding sourcream and guac with your plate . Its about 10.50 if i remember right , my lady ordered the birra in a chimi which isnt on the menu but they still made it no problem. I love this place and they have $1.00 beers at happy hour! Imported ..... lol Say mas?

We have so many great choices in this area for Mexican food, and given we had never been here we thought we would give it a try. The moment we discovered it was a breakfast buffet (and only $10 plus change) my husband was ALL in. The first thing that I loved about Crossroad was their parking spaces. They just seem huge to me, so no cramming cars in and getting door dings here. The service was great, yes even though it was a buffet (although you can order from the menu). The server checked in often for drink refills and cleared plates. There was also a lady making eggs to order plus waffles/pancakes in the small buffet area. While the buffet area is small there is plenty to choose from when you think Mexican breakfast food. Chilaquiles, Chile Rellano, Pozole, Menudo, Potatoes, Beans, Calabasitas, and the list goes on. There is also a fruit/salad bar area, fresh tortillas and toasted bollilo and chips/salsa.

I came in for lunch. It wasn't busy, It is a Monday though. I got seated fast. My waitress was pleasant. I got a basket of chip right away with a salsa and a little dish of limes with out having to ask. I had water to drink and ordered the Monday Special of shredded beef burrito for 8.99 I added enchilada style that is a little extra charge. The food was good the meat had a nice flavor. The rice was a little salty and dry. One thing did bother me thought as I boxed my left overs I say a bunch of dark colored baby ants. I put my phone light on to make sure I was seeing right. I immediately told the waitress and she said she will not seat no one there. I hope she tells her manager so they can take care of that issue. I feel itchy now :( She handed me my bill and it was under 16.00. Not my favorite way to end my lunch. Now that I think of it, I should have took a picture of them critters.

Stopped by because we had a bogo coupon. The place was cute inside and reminded me of a typical traditional Mexican restaurant. The complimentary chips and salsa were decent... the chips could have been more fresh and a larger portion of salsa would have been nice. I did like the limes though! I opted for the steak fajitas and my boyfriend went with the shrimp enchiladas. The food came out quick but was simply lacking flavor. I had to salt my food generously. The steak itself was over cooked and the vegetables were undercooked. The rice and beans were also bland. Our waitress was friendly and the prices were decent but this wasn't a meal I'll rave to my friends about.

The seafood bag was the standout: we got shrimp (head off) with the "Atomic Sauce," a combination of cajun, lemon pepper, and garlic butter seasoning. It's super flavorful, and even though "Atomic" is in the name, it doesn't have to be spicy! You get to set your spice level when ordering. The one slight annoyance with the single-seafood bag is that the corn, potatoes, and andouille sausage were all add-ons with an upcharge -- to me, those are a standard part of a low country boil and should be included from the get-go. To be fair, they're included in the combos, though. I can't speak to the service, since we did takeout, but I'd certainly get a seafood boil from them again!

Finally made it here! Fantastic venue - spacious/airy historic industrial with thick old wood and…read moreiron everywhere. We were seated in a booth looking out onto Broadway. The young gentleman who waited on us (Avi) was outstanding - capably answering all of our menu and origin story questions. All beef comes from a grass-fed ranch in Montana (Meijer) and is butchered several times a week, on premises by the owner or head chef (prep room behind the dining areas). We were both eyeing the Carne Asada for which they use a skirt steak that is tenderized by pounding rather than marinating (as is more commonly done for tacos/fajitas). Being hammered is definitely the better path when served as steak. Since we always share, she got the Asada ($39) with the "surf/turf" option which added 4 grilled shrimp (+$15) and I got the 8oz Filet ($49). We also split an app: the Cast Iron Mushrooms (caps filled with beef chorizo and cheese) $14 and they were tender and delicious! For drinks she got the Tucson Old Fashioned (made with local Whisky del Bac) $16 and I tried the "Mexico to Milan" - a Negroni made with Mezcal instead of gin $15. Both were outstanding - strong, flavorful, and not too sweet. Steaks arrived about 20 minutes after initial ordering (just right, not rushed) and were each cooked as ordered (medium). Note: steaks come plain - that is generally no sides or sauces. Avi had politely urged the mushroom mixta ($10) but I had (regretfully) passed. The fillet was solid/good, with a decent char, well salted, and pink through the middle. However, the Carne Asada stole the show, and it wasn't even close. That tenderized skirt steak, unadorned with interfering marinades, just exploded with rich beef flavor. The shrimp were merely "ok" especially at $15 and we would definitely skip next time in favor of another appetizer. We both worked much of this beautiful Saturday and even coincidentally missed our lunches, so dessert was a no brainer... as was the lava cake. Avi concurred, literally jumping with enthusiasm and adding that was his favorite and we would not regret it. She's normally not a huge sweets person (I am!) yet she also marveled at all of the flavors, textures (and temperatures) of this concoction. Final notes: the bill total will be after-tax which means you're calculating your tip with the tax included in the total, a pet peeve, but it appears to be the way all 'merican restaurants are trending now. We also noticed that with respect to the Carne Asada entree, compared to photos just a year ago, portion sizes appear to have shrunk a bit (20 percent?) while cost went up ($35-$39). Parking will be a challenge but there is a garage only 2 blocks away. Or, opt as we did, and make it a "downtown/4th Ave evening" and trolly your way here. There's a stop directly in front!

I tried to make reservations at another restaurant beforehand known for their prime rib, but they were booked full. So I reserved this place. Upon our arrival we entered the door on the right hand side of the building. We told them the name our reservation was under and they said it was for the restaurant next door on the left side of the building. It was for the more upscale restaurant as mentioned by the host. They have two restaurants by the same name that sit opposite of each other. I hear their counterpart is just as good. We entered the building from the left and told the host the name the reservation was under. The host wasn't as attentive as she should have been. She hardly even looked as us. We were standing there and she seemed to be busy with something else. No ' it'll be just a few minutes', nothing. She was talking with the other ladies. Finally we were seated. Our server was very nice. We decided on two steak dinners. My wife had the 8oz filet and I got the rib-eye both med-rare. Our steaks look good when we received it. But my steak was served rare! It was chewy and fatty. I chewed for days just to get a single piece down. My wife steak was overcooked to medium. There's nothing worse than an overcooked filet mignon! We don't like sending food back for obvious reasons. We've heard too many horror stories, not to mention I use to work in the food industry. As I mentioned, our server was very nice and attentive as well! She constantly checked on us and my tip reflected that! For a $170.00 bill, our meal was mediocre at best. Thanks for ending my wife's Mother's Day on a sour note!
