I was craving shrimp, tacos, so we went to this restaurant . I'm giving this restaurant 1 star because when I order shrimp tacos, I expect to get shrimp tacos. And.... The shrimp and seafood cocktail dish with the mushy shrimp and chewy seafood, was fairly flavorless . The fish tacos were tasty, but I really wanted what I ordered and they argued that we said fish. I have never had fish tacos until now. The fried fish taco was better, as the grilled fish was mushy. My companion, who is from Tucson, ordered another dish that he said was not as good as it used to be. I tried it and it was OK The one with the shrimp and the green cheese sauce.. Apparently the restaurant changed names and the quality of the food changed along with perhaps recipes The margarita is tasty but needed some tequila. The atmosphere is clean but older. For customers a party of four or eight would be the max size that would fit comfortably in this small restaurant. read more

It was a Sunday Funday and we wanted seafood so we decided to give this place a try. It did not disappoint! We had the Cameron Aquachilies, a shrimp tostada and shrimp tacos. The Cameron Aquachilies was SO delicious and the presentation was beautiful! I got it with the green sauce. The shrimp tostada and tacos were amazing too! They have a really nice salsa bar as well. The chef came out and spoke to us and was interested in our feedback. I did not get his name but he was professional and nice. We will definitely be back. See photo! read more

What a gem!!! Luckily ate here today, Taco Tuesday! Tacos were $1.99 and they are huge and delicious. We had the birria and adobada and they were both juicy and had so much flavor. We also had the champencha cocktail which was amazing with so much seafood. This is a must if you like seafood. You know a place is good when after you eat and you're stuffed but you have to have another taco. I ordered the battered shrimp taco and it was fabulous! It was recommended by the owner and son-in-law who works the register when they need help. This family run restaurant is probably one of the best taquerias & mariscos restaurants I've been to including CA! Their flavors took me back to restaurants in Ensenada, no joke! Came for taco Tuesday and this place was Packed! They were out of Cabeza which is what I came for. At $1.99 each I got one tripa (fried tripe) two adobe tacos. Tripe was unsalted but was high quality and very tasty with salt and lime. The adobe or marinated pork left much to be desired. It was cold and I'm not sure if it's bc I asked for 1 tortilla instead of 2 but it had substantially less meat than the tacos my friends got. I also tried the carne asada from my friend which was seasoned and flavorful but it was sooo dry. A friend ordered rice and beans for $3 each. Beans were awesome and I got some to go. I had dinner here yesterday with three friends. It is a casual counter-service restaurant. I had the chile relleno combo ($13.52 credit card price). It comes with rice, beans and corn or flour tortillas. There is a good salsa and veggie bar. With all the fixings, it was the right amount of food. The chile relleno was good; the rice and beans were OK with the addition of some pico de gallo and salsa. Wowwww this place rocks! I have been on a search to find some of the best Mexican food in Tucson and Tacos y Mariscos will definitely be on rotation. I ordered a steak burrito with beans and rice. I usually hold off on rice and beans by ordering straight to meat and guacamole but I decided to order the dish the way the restaurant made it... this place turned me into a believer! In all my life I have never had rice and beans that were so light, fluffy and just clean tasting. This was perfect because their salsa cart inside the restaurant has all the homemade components that accompany their food like a symphony. When my burrito came out it looked like a Mexican version of Gudatama (cute, lazy and pleasantly plump Japanese anime egg character) full of love and super home made! What I really love about this place is its food is done right by very simple. The burrito plate came with lettuce and veggies on the side on top of their cart and did I mention the collection of hot sauces on the table? The hot sauce variety is carefully selected but looks more like chess pieces on a board that your standard 2. I can't wait to be back and try more items on the menu! This place is insane! The food knocked my socks off - the Barría is bliss worthy. The chicken taco was delicious and fresh. The red salsa is REALLY spicy, the green is not. Today was my 2nd visit to Tacos y Mariscos Jaliscos and I will say this place is a solid 5 stars. My first trip I had the quesabirria tacos and they were fantastic. Today I had two tacos: adobada and battered, fried fish. Both were excellent! The restaurant is small and you order at the counter and they bring your food to the table (real plates - not plastic or styrofoam). We were there celebrating a coworker's birthday and everyone was quite happy with their selections. There is a salsa bar so you can help yourself to some condiments. Bonus is that the staff is super nice as well. Pro tip: order the pink horchata. It's surprisingly delicious! read more

Nice to have good, casual taco places in midtown. We ordered at the counter, staff was friendly. The food came out hot and quick. My tacos de cameron were grilled and had a sauce on it, which had a little kick. Don't forget to stop by the salsa bar to kick it up a notch. This place hit the spot for me on all levels! It's a small restaurant with a small patio seating section, too. The day we went it wasn't busy so we grabbed an indoor table. I knew I was going to love it when I saw the salsa bar with lots of fresh salsas and sides. The menu also has great pics of their food so you know what to expect and I don't think pricing is very high either. The staff member assisting us was pleasant and our food came out pretty fast and so fresh. We initially went for Mariscos but couldn't pass up trying multiple items. Let me tell you, do not skip the quesabirria tacos...they were SO delicious!! They also do $1.99 tacos on Taco Tuesdays. Everything was incredible and we enjoyed all of the plates we ordered. I had tried the tacos and ceviche a couple of weeks ago and thought they were pretty good so much so that I decided to try it out again today. I ordered a shrimp cocktail and had a fountain drink for $26. I was so disappointed! None of the shrimp were deveined, and the ones that were cut down the back were not even cleaned out. The soup/sauce even looked murky like the vegetables and mixture were not fresh. It even got me to thinking when I ate the ceviche last time I was here the pieces are cut so small that I was probably eating shrimp. DO NOT EAT THE SHRIMP! read more

I say you can't have enough good taco joints. I just tried this new-ish establishment and had a fabulous lunch. It's small - only about 6 tables - but the order-at-the-counter service was quick and friendly. I got three flour tacos (Birria, asada, and battered fish) as well as a taco de papas. The meat was excellently seasoned and the tortillas were yummy and warm. The fish were crispy with a lovely chipotle crema on top. They have a small but decent salsa bar - I thought the marinated carrots were especially delicious. I only have to dock one star because the taco de papas weren't up to the mark. I found that the potatoes were a bit mushy. But, overall, a great casual dining experience. Oh, and quite affordable to boot. read more
