Called up and requested the correct order and over two hours later and several phone calls I still haven't received my correct order OR my money back which I have since requested. Not A place I would Revisit. Food Was mediocre at best. Service was awful very very dreadful. we waited overt 25 min for a server to get to our table, food took very long to come out, orders were wrong, our server was very poor in English as was the manager who came to our table. over all We had a bad experience. there was no sense of urgency or hospitality. I come here all the time and always left satisfied. Yes I do believe they're a bit pricey but you get served a hefty portion. The attention I revive from the staff is always warm and with a smile. We've been eating here for years, the Crosstown Diner is definitely one of our favorite places to eat in the bronx. Portion sizes are gigantic and the burgers are amazing! The breakfast menu is huge and this is one of the only places that offers a (delicious) Irish Breakfast platter. Gyros never disappoint and the disco fries are my go-to for a late night fix. Prices are reasonable considering the serving size and delivery is prompt... don't forget to leave room for dessert while you're there! read more

Crosstown diner has always been a nice place to eat . However recently I went with my wife and was very disappointed. I ordered the Apple pie French toast . ( in its description it says "warm" apples ) it was clearly cool out of the can apples. Aside from the cool apples the flavor was terrible . I sent the food back . They bring it back clearly piping straight from the microwave. Seriously microwaved French toast cmon guys . You're charging a nice amount for subpar food . When I approached management their nonchalant attitude was disturbing. The one manager says to me " crazy times" . What does that even mean ? Your chef or whoever is in charge is not doing their job . That to me was a a turn off . I'll probably never go back . The waiter was awesome. The management can learn something from their staff perhaps . The diner gets an A+ for how well they adapted to Covid . Yet a big F for how they dealt with my situation as well as their quality of food . thanks again for not taking my complaint serious . The only complaint I really have about Crosstown are the VERY expensive prices and quality. I mean 4 orders of eggs and bacon pricing almost 60 dollars?? (With tax and tip) I'm sorry, but unless those chicken are hatching golden eggs there's no way it should be that much. Fine, if they were organic or free range maaaaaybe I'd entertain the idea, but no. Just your basic eggs. Also, a bacon cheeseburger deluxe with mozzarella cheese on your fries will cost you a WHOPPING 24 dollars!!!! It was $4.50 just to add a two slices of barley melted cheese. I work in the city and even there have never paid that much for a burger! I hate to sound like an elitist, but it's still the Bronx. If you're gunna have the audacity to charge me this much, I want to be WOWed! Instead I'm given mediocrity. Stick to your basics here (even though they'll be pricy) and stay away from any creamed soups. They're filled with cornstarch (a cheap way to make soup thicker) and gets clumpy and gross after 3 minuets (so don't bother ordering for delivery) needless to say, the lack of places to get a burger in the Bronx is astounding. Which is probably why places like Crosstown are still in business. They take advantage of the fact there's no where else in the area and charge outrageous prices because they can, NOT because they should. 3 stars because it's 24 hours, there's a parking lot and their milkshakes are good. read more

went to the place on 10/17/20 , ordered coffee and before placing order , requested plastic utensils , the waiter said we dont give plastic utensils only for to go orders, i asked for management who replied ' we feel you are saying are utensils are dirty when people ask for plastic, we can give you hot water... i than explained that some people do not use metal utensils in any outside establishments and its nothing personal. he than said only if you have medical condition, i than said wait so if i tell you i have a medical condition it has to meet your criteria to make me eligible. he said yes. ... this place was disgusting... and over capacity for covid standards. read more

Totally disgusting and inedible food. Pastrami was really old and tasted like cardboard. I totally drenched it with mustard but just couldn't eat it. Soggy fries. I mistook the spinach dip for some sort of soup. I almost cried because I was so hungry but there was no way I could/would consume that garbage. I understand the bronx has severe issues with food quality but it's a diner. I'm actually hurt that any business would send that to anyone to put in their body. The entire order is in the garbage. I am still hungry and frustrated. It wasn't terribly expensive but every single dollar I spend with a business is a choice and could go to another business. Use to love this place. Menu is amazingly large So you can always find something you'll like. But over priced is not a good enough word. Every place charges for cheese on a burger, but lettuce and onions? Next thing u know they'll be charging for ketchup. I'll take my butt down the street to Tremont Diner. Just finished a late night delicious dinner delivered right to my door :) My daughter and I both ordered The Thanksgiving Dinner. The turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn and gravy were delicious and still hot! Also included were salads (which were fresh and very generous for side salads), yummy bread and cranberry sauce, too! We also ordered ourselves two slices of apple pie to complete our dinner. They were very large slices and delicious! In addition to the food being wonderful, the man who took my phone order was friendly & got every detail correct, it was delivered ahead of the scheduled arrival time & as hot as if the kitchen was only a few feet away! Ever since I started my business I have been coming to the CrossTown Diner to interview people, have lunch or order in while I am working. The service is great. I usually get the buffalo chicken sliders or hamburger sliders which are quick and always hot and comforting. The CrossTown is always clean and real landmark in Throggs Neck. I will probably stop by this week for a Chicken Salad Sandwich or platter. read more

I always had a bad experience everytime I came here in the past. I decided to give them a chance again last night since we was in the area and husband and friends were hungry. The first time I had came the eggplant parm was disgusting cuould barely ate it. The second time they messed up my order when I had clearly ordered a vegetable quesedilla with curly fries, they had given me a vegetable sandwhich with eggplant that was dipped in egg and fried, I guess their ghetto version of eggplant parm. when I had approched my waitress and told her it's clearly not what I ordered she told me it was a vegetable quesedilla... Im clearly not blind nor my husband, so she said she will check with the kitchen she came back with the same sandwhich minus the eggplant, and fries. I clearly just gave up and just ate my fries out of hunger.... Last night I had their oreo cake which tasted very stale and horibble. My friends and husband tasted it and said it was the worst dessert they ever had, and felt sorry that it was the only thing that I had ordered and tasted like crap. I thought heyyy dessert shouldn't fail, but nope apparently they got the cake from a bakery and put it in their fridge. The waiter had told us it's fresh and it had just came in today and that's it hard and that's how the cake is, and blah blah a whole bunch of excuses for their trashy food. not worth it at all, never again! read more

Terrible service when ordering in. It took an hour to receive my food 8 blocks away!!!. I had to call and was put on hold several times. When my food finally arrived, it was horrible,. I placed a delivery order here once while pregos and craving chocolate chip pancakes big time and my delectable breakfast came on time and unharmed. The next time I had a hankering for diner fun, I went in with a girlfriend who was visiting at the time... Oh boy. Maybe I should've stuck to the pancakes and left it at that! I ordered food around 11:45 to receive it at 2:05 pm. It was cold and did not taste good at all. I called three times in between those times and was continuously told that the driver had left with it. Needless to say, the driver did NOT have our food with him that long. When I called back to make a complaint, the manager did not care and just brushed off anything I had to say. If I would've known it would've taken that long I would've rather order some place else because a two hour wait is uncalled for.
