We came for a family birthday party and were more than happy with the food. The appetizers were excellent. We had the stuffed peppers, arancini, zucchini, and the antipasto platter. My family and I absolutely love Crostata's. Our favorites are the antipasti, the stuffed artichoke, and the prosciutto and arugula pizza. It's difficult to make a really good stuffed artichoke, but Crostata's succeeds every time we get it. It's simply delicious. I arrived today to friendly staff and an mostly empty restaurant. The staff was the best part of the experience. I took the lack of customers as a sign that it was too early in the evening. However after looking at the menu I decided on getting a plate of Spaghetti and a side of meat balls and sausage. I was warned that the price had increased from the listed price and that it was now pricier because they make the pasta in house. I said ok. Quality is sometimes should be awarded. The plate of food that was placed in front of me was the smallest portion of pasta I have ever seen set as an entree. My thumb seemed bigger than the sausage and it was way dried out. Also the meatball had no texture to it at all. I hate to complain but wow it was really pathetic to look at. The food was meh and I'm still hungry. But the final total came up to over $26 before tip. I personally am not sure what was going on but I'm surprised that people pay for that. It wasn't worth that price at all. What I got was worth half that. read more

Ordered pizza and arrancini here one night as our regular go to place was closed. Just wanted to try a traditional pizza with cheese, pepperoni etc. They do not have pepperoni so I opted for something with artichoke hearts on it and an order of arrancini. The pizza was small in circumference but the arrancini were good. I tried a bite of pizza and bite of arrancini and gave the rest to my husband. It would not have been enough for 2 ppl. I don't think we will have pizza there again. But maybe the regular menu is the way to go. read more

Look the only thing I get here in the sausage pizza. Everything else could be/is probably delicious, but I'm stuck on this pie. The crust, sauce, cheese & house-made sausage (I believe) are all some of the best you'll find in the area. Maybe someday I'll venture out, but why bother when this pizza is so good! read more

No reservations for small groups so get here early! We walked in at 545 on a Thursday and there was about a 20 min wait for 2. However it was totally worth it! The pizza crust is thin and light, a little less of that chewy gluten texture and more crispy if you like that (we did). The DOP mozzarella is milky, fresh and to die for. Sausage is made in house, savory and perfectly juicy crumbled onto the red sauce. We also had a delicious eggplant parm special- it was very fresh and had a generous cheese topping. It is not swimming in sauce- just topped with it. Wine list is medium sized- super Tuscan and ripasso were both lovely reds to pair with our meal. Shoutout for the service which was friendly, efficient and very knowledgeable about the food. The kitchen is open so you can see the staff at work preparing dishes as you dine. We had to rush to get somewhere after eating, and they were so accommodating of us. Next time we'll make sure we stay for dessert which looked amazing at other tables! read more

Where to start, the service was phenomenal, it was a date night - I was told to arrive at 5:30 as they don't take reservation for under 6 people. So we arrived at 5:30 ish, great private table, we ordered the appetizers - the rice ball, and the stuffed sausage peppers - they DID NOT DISAPPOINT...amazing, great marinara type sauce and just spectacular - both recommended by the server. My boy friend got the house wine which he enjoyed also recommended per the server's suggestion. The entre was a lobster pasta dish to die for and the bolognese also a recommendation by the server was spot on Perfection. We finished with the lemon curd dish - which is light tasty and plenty for 2 people - so lemony, tart and just spectacular with a crisp pastry shell. Couldn't have wished for anything better. My brother used to live in Italy, and I visited him there a couple of times several years ago when I was less experienced with the world of food. Before going, some uncultured Americans told me (paraphrasing) "pizza might come from Italy, but the pizza there is plain and terrible". Americans are obviously used to the "everythingbutthekitchensink" pies that Pizza Hut and Papa John's have brainwashed us to think is good pizza. Sadly, I was a brainwashee and when I went to Napoli, I ignored their pizza. Blasphemy! I mean, for real?? What dummy goes to Napoli and doesn't have pizza? This dummy, apparently! The pizzas at Crostatas look exactly like they did in Napoli. So glad, because now I can make up for my sins. I asked our server what the difference was between the regular margherita and margherita DOC. Was told that the DOC is made with buffalo mozzarella and was much creamier and smoother. Sold! Also tried the funghi and the alba pizzas. The margherita simply had San Marzano tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella, basil and evoo. The funghi, same, but with shrooms minus the basil. Alba had capocollo ham, arugula, fried egg. Such deliciousness in the simplicity of the Neapolitan pizza. For dessert, we opted for some spumoni and... get this... Nutella calzone. Whuuuut??? Yes! This was a pizza only visit, but along with the other pizzas we didn't get to try yet, they also have very interesting entrees on their menu that are worth repeat visits to sample. read more

Upon entering the restaurant you see their nice open kitchen, they have a variety of dried pastas for purchase to take home. We were seated promptly in the dinning room, the only downside is that the tables are right on top of each other. Reading the menu everything sounded amazing. Service was good, not great. We ordered the the arancini balls, melanzane alla Griglia (marinated and grilled eggplant). Tonno Carpaccio (seared ahi tuna, mesclun greens, mozz, ginger and sesame dressing). Quattro Formaggi pizza with sausage and farm egg). The presentation on all the dishes was spectacular and was cooked perfectly the problem was nothing had any flavor. The salad had way to much dressing, (even though we asked for the dressing on the side) the eggplant was really oily. I taste of Italy in Highland Hts., Ohio. This is a small, quaint, Italian eatery with an authentic feel and taste. I have only dined here twice. Each time was amazing. They are known for their thin crust pizzas, of which they have many unique varieties to choose from. Tonight is feel plain, margarita pizza with fresh basil sprinkled on top. I also decided to add in a side of the grilled eggplant. Both items were awesome. This is a great local authentic Italian restaurant that is actually family run. Some of the staff is from Italy. Crostatas used to be so good. It used to be a quiet, family owned family restaurant however it was very loud, over-crowded and extremely rushed tonight. My husband and I went tonight to enjoy Pizza and while the Pizza was delicious, the meal felt extremely rushed. Our dishes came out extremely quickly, and then mid way through, they already had the check ready for us. It's great if you want a quick, In and out experience, but we were hoping for of a more quiet relaxing nice meal. It was not. Food is great and especially for a suburban Italian restaurant, but they need to return to their old style of much more slower and relaxed. Not sure why I didn't try this one sooner, but I'll definitely be coming here often. Got a margherita (the bufula) which is my standard order when trying a new pizza place, and it was very good. Everything was in the proper proportions, sauce and cheese were both high quality, and the crust was really, really solid. This is definitely one of the best pizza places I've found in Cleveland- if you like neapolitan style pizza there is no way you will be disappointed here. Absolutely THE best! Time after time, visit after visit this place puts out the finest pizza in the city. It may not be the same style as some other popular favorites, but they remain the most exciting pies in the area. We typically start with the Caesar Salad. Just the right amount of crunch, dressing and great croutons. Perfect. We're addicted to the Prosciutto Arugula Pizza. Light, lemony with a crust that has my wife begging for the ends! This always reminds me of the pizza I had in Milan. It is just that good. To finish, we really enjoy their tiramisu. We also love the Nutella Calzone, but typically can't finish it ( and it doesn't warm well at home) We're told, the secret is the ultra hot Italian oven. Perhaps. Honestly, we don't care! In Portuguese we have a saying that goes by "Never go back to where you've been happy", that probably explains a lot of our collective nostalgic mind, still lost in centuries of sailing boats trusting the wind all over the world. I was really happy to be back to Crostatas after all these years and realize it is still the same cute, romantic, rustic Italian place that brings you a little bit of authentic Italy into a Cleveland suburb. Their antipasti of cheeses and meats continues to be a must, those olives are delish beyond description. The pasta of the day was a fresh spaghetti al pesto with a really well balanced pesto, and their four cheese pizza continues to be my go to - Crostatas has a wood-burning oven, so you'll be sure to get a traditional Neapolitan thin crust pizza that is a slice of heaven, pun intended. As if your stomach is not already filled in to the top like a gas tank, the desserts are also a can't miss, their Napoleon al limone continues to be epic, after having it you feel like the real Bonaparte. Pair it with a single espresso, a true espresso, that my European tongue taste sensors crave constantly, and perfectly brewed over here.
