What a great find! Looking for a quick meal, I decided to give this place a go since I drive by it all the time but never had an interest. Boy was I wrong! One of the best burger joints in town. I severely underestimated the size of the burger, thinking the classic royal burger will be small, I opted for the double and it was basically two burgers in one. The pastrami was salty but paired well with the beef patties. The patties were cooked perfectly, and we're juicy. The tomato sauce was thick and the lettuce was crisp. Next time I will go with their special sauce everyone recommended. The steak fries were nothing to rave about but they were crispy. Let's crown this spot as the end all be all burger spot for Denver! I'm not joking... this was my first visit and found it because of Yelp and so glad I did! This spot not only offers the first and best pastrami burger I've ever had, but also has prices so affordable it is a breath of fresh air! There are "fad" burger chains that offer burgers with fancy names and have a binder full of sides you can add for $2 more a topping, and then end up with a $25 burger that's not even good. Then there's Crown Burgers offering a menu of burgers that is simple and spot on but then have that secret weapon... the pastrami burger! I would have never tried something like this until reading the reviews. What they have concocted is pure flavorful magic. It's a must try! The fries, as mentioned before, were a hit and miss. Some were amazing and other felt extremely bland. No salt and it felt under fried in some areas. My experience at crown burgers shouldn't dictate you giving it a shot. It might of simply been an off day, so I do plan on coming back. But so far I was unimpressed with my experience. Crown burgers was an absolute delight and definitely my favorite burger in Denver! We came here about a an hour before close and after 3 pm they have a host of specials, including 7 dollars for a quarter pounder with cheese, a drink, and fries. Our whole meal, with a quarter pounder special, a royal burger, onion rings, and a baklava came out to only 24 dollars, so it was a great value and way higher quality than all the fast food places nearby. First off, the burgers were spot on for an old school burger joint. Perfectly seasoned, meaty patties and a nicer (thick cut) slice of tomato than I've seen at a lot of fancy burger places. The burger sauce was also the perfect consistency and didn't sog the hearty sesame seed bun. The Royal burger is a great upgrade too, and felt totally worth the extra cost. You get thick, juicy, hot slices of pastrami that give the burger a real flavor boost. My husband got so many in his burger that I even got to add some to mine! The sides are also great here - the steak fries are crispy and the onion rings have a cornmeal breading that gives you a great crackly outer layer. If you're a fan of really onion forward onion rings, these will really be a treat! The onions are super thick and though the rings themselves aren't very salty, they're pretty perfect once you dip them in the provided sauce. Lastly, the baklava is a great little treat to end the meal - crispy, not too sweet, and nutty.
