On our trip to Denver we decided to use Yelp to guide the way for us, seeing how highly rated Crown Burgers is we decided to give it a try. We loved that they had a drive through, especially because it was snowing. The employees were very friendly and helpful. The food portions were huge and affordable to feed many people. That's where the positive ends though, the food was very bland. I got the pastrami burger and although there was a lot of it, it just didn't taste good. The burger patty tasted like it was a prepackaged frozen patty. The pastrami tasted very bland. Nothing was of good quality. It was edible. Not delicious. read more

A true Colorado gem! Crown burger is a locally owned burger (+more) restaurant. There is a wide variety of food items on their menu and they have a drive thru. Prices were decent. I came through the first time and of course, I had to try what they were known for the Royal Burger aka Beef patty with pastrami, absolutely delicious! The pastrami add another level of depth to it! It gave the burger an added peppery flavor to it. The sides were alright, definitely not my favorite. Fries were not bad, they are the large steak fries. We always get good food and good service at Crown Burger but today these guys (Liam & Mohammed) were working upfront & Liam in orange took our order while Mohammed was busy with another customer. As soon as Mohammed was done taking an order he jumped on and immediately made our shake! We weren't even finished with the transaction yet! We dont get the chance to eat there often because its 12 miles from our house. So we were still struggling with what to order. Liam was patient, made sure we were getting what we wanted and had suggestions. They really made a fantastic team and got our food out to us quickly! The cooks were on point as usual! This place is a throwback burger joint. It reminds me of the "char-broil burger" places that are all over Southern California. It's family owned, with the owner cooking in the back and his wife often at the register. They've got additional staff, and everyone is really nice. I stop in for lunch occasionally, usually to go. Since they cook to order, going inside to order is just a fast as the drive-through (when there's not a pandemic). Burgers are fine, and they have some good deals in the "off hours." It's one of a few places where I can order a good tuna melt without Swiss. Fries are steak fries, which I always enjoy. Breakfasts are hearty, tasty, and a good deal for the money. Pre COVID, my husband and I decided a day date was in order.Our first stop was Dave and Busters to get our fix of arcade games, followed by pool and darts. We shared a side of Frings ? onion rings and fries, and everything completely hit the spot. Literally the most perfect greasy bite which oozed in all the right places! I used to work around the corner from this place and was a regular but that all changed with COVID. Still, I periodically drive back whenever I am craving an affordable burger and fries. It beats all the chain competitors in the area by a landslide. The food here is so freshly made - prices are reasonable and staff is always friendly. They haven't updated their decor in decades and the building could use some TLC, but I don't mind - it's reliable, friendly service and quality food. Burger is thin but juicy and they have a special house sauce that is delicious - I always ask for extra on the side. Their fries are steak fry style - nice and crisp. Don't let the exterior fool you. I wanted to try it - and I had time that day. Crown did not disappoint. I just wish I had the calorie flexibility to get the shakes - they looked amazing. We tried a bunch of items (Corn Dogs, Pastrami Burger, cheese/bacon burgers, fries). My kids loved being able to get hot chocolate with free refills (me less than thrilled with their mess). While in line I looked up reviews and thank goodness requested the special fry sauce. I think it's like a Mayo/ketchup combo if you're wondering and it's pretty good. Also, as a saucy lady they weren't skimpy on the fry sauce or ketchup although I wasn't a huge fan of the little packets.... Please consider dipping containers or at least larger packets of ketchup. I had to use like 10 of them for my fries ‍. Like I said, I'm saucy! The husbeast loved his bacon burger and I had the tuna melt. It was just the greasy spoon we needed that day. TLDR: Boring burger with bone and gristle. Creepy unwelcoming environment. I'd come back for the cheap grilled cheese but I'd use the drive thru. I was in this neck of the woods today and saw this place right near where I was running errands. I thought I remembered it being a favorite of Denver's reddity community, so I popped inside. You guys, that interior is pretty grim. The unsmiling proprietors behind the counter taking orders (it's just like that old SNL cheeseburger! cheeseburger! skit, so get comfortable with everyone in the place hearing exactly what you ordered)...the booth along the north wall with two old men (I think also maybe proprietors?) silently sitting there the entire time I was there eating, just generally being ghoulish and creepy...the no-napkins anywhere and you have to ask for them at the counter...I was profoundly uncomfortable in this restaurant. I felt like they stared at me every time I got up to refill my soda, like they wanted to discourage refills (never mind they give out the teeniest cups ever)...just no no no no. OK so the food. There appeared to be a large menu but the scowling cashier lady made me uncomfortable with every second I studied it, so I just ordered a cheeseburger and fries. Food came out pretty quickly and was definitely fresh. The fries were like steak fries which normally I would want some Ranch to eat them with, but no way was I gonna ask for some. To their credit, they at least cooked the fries properly and they were not at all soggy. Burger was on a somewhat stale bun that was way bigger than the patty. It was supposedly a 1/4 pound patty but it just felt like a slightly larger McD's small Big Mac type patty. Bite #1: YIKES. A giant bone chip. It put me off of the burger entirely, but by this time the scowling lady was acting as a sentry by the trash cans, so even though I wanted to leave, I thought it likely she'd ask why I was chucking out my burger after 1 bite. So I took bite #2: GROSS. Gnarly gristle bomb. Well, the lady is still guarding the trash cans, so I'm stuck.
