Sales when buying the car was ok. The problem is the service. We purchased the prepaid oil change, top of the line package. Can't use it. Both times my husband made an appt for an oil change, he sat and waited for the service to be done. FOR HOURS! The service department apologized and offered other services like wash and detailing for free. That doesn't make up for the lost hourly wages as he works contract and is paid by hours worked and charged. Easily $400 in pay lost, with each visit. Not convenient to use shuttle to be taken back home. Takes long time with frequent stops to drop off other customers. Then you have to get back there to pick up the car. My advice- don't buy pre-paid services. Go elsewhere. Also may want to go elsewhere to buy the next car. read more

I brought my Kia Soul in for a headlight issue which I had received a notice about from Kia directly . The appointment went well- I was taken in immediately and afterwards, everything was explained to me in great detail. This included going over all needed maintenance issues, with the estimated costs . The person who waited on me did an excellent job of providing me with additional information ; making sure that I understood everything . Regrettably, I cannot recall his name . The only issues I had were the following : it was rather difficult to get an appointment- I felt that the problem that I was having ( headlights going on and off while driving at night ) was significant enough to warrant getting me in quickly for the repair; a repair that was authorized by Kia as being a faulty part and which was then put under extended warranty so that it would be repaired at no cost . Instead, I had to wait more than a week and then got an appointment that was only two days after I had minor back surgery . I explained this to the scheduler ; requesting that I get an appointment BEFORE the procedure , but she declined and was a bit cold about the matter in general . Secondly , my check engine light had suddenly come on the night before my appointment . I asked then about checking it out for me and was told that just to CHECK it would cost $69.99. I really think that this should be a complementary service - I'm not suggesting that it be FIXED for free, but I do think that running it through the diagnostic machine should be a courtesy given to owners who utilize the service department and especially for those of us that purchased our vehicles there . I know that I can take it to one of the automotive parts store or even my personal mechanic and they will do it at no cost . I don't see why Crown Kia cant do the same ; especially when the car is already in shop and there due to a malfunction with the car that is considered a recall/ warranty issue . However , all that being said , somehow the check engine light was OFF when my car was returned to me ! Unfortunately, the guy who checked me out ( and in) told me that it would probably only stay off temporarily and did, in deed, need to be diagnosed and repaired . Again, I think it's unfortunate that I now have to wait to take it in to another mechanic ( who will not charge me) to see what the issue is ;especially because it may very well be something serious . I am on a very fixed and limited budget due to being disabled - I do not have extra money to spend when it could and should be done for free. There are a bunch of issues going on with my car; all having started about the same time and all, most likely an electrical or computer issue. I feel stressed not knowing if it's something dangerous and also because I'm concerned that the fix may be quite expensive . This all could have been alleviated if Crown would have diagnosed the issue at no cost . This aside , I find that the service department employees are always pleasant and helpful . I was recently in an accident where my car was totaled. I hadn't planned on replacing it as I was using the other car I owned for my long, treacherous daily commutes. I stopped by this dealership on a whim on New Year's Eve to check out the Kia Soul's and see how they drove, etc. They had a small selection of leftover 2013s and I decided to look at those as they seem to look a bit better than the newly restyled 2014s. Anyhow, I met with Rob when I went in and ended up test driving the car I would eventually own. Once the test drive was over, I went inside to give him my information as I had interest, but I was in no rush to buy anything or even spend that much time in a car dealer so late in the day on December 31st. After a brief discussion and the manager coming over we had a little bit of an effortless exchange over the price and they ended up agreeing to my ridiculously lowball offer for the car I had test driven. I even got a spoiler thrown in as I liked the way the Soul's looked that had them and the one I liked didn't. Their finance department was able to get me approved for a great interest rate and after spending about 90 minutes at the dealer I left with a new car purchased. I agreed to picking up the car the next weekend as they would need time to install the spoiler and get the paint protection done. That is where my review went from 5 stars down to 4. When I called closer to the weekend to arrange for the car to be picked up I was told the spoiler was on backorder and wouldn't be in for a few days and that it was coming from Korea. Odd as I had looked online and found several available at other Kia dealers who had them in stock. After doing this research I also found out there were two different styles of spoilers for the Soul. I would have thought given the extensive discussions had when purchasing the car that I liked the Soul on the lot with the spoiler that I would be getting that spoiler. On a hunch I called my salesperson to ensure it was the right spoiler being installed and was told it was the other style. I don't know why they would knowingly try and install a different type of spoiler on the car than what we had discussed other than maybe it was cheaper and they thought I wouldn't be any wiser? Anyhow, they had to send that spoiler back and reorder the correct one. I was then told deliver of my new vehicle would depend on when the spoiler got there and it could be painted and installed. All in all, I ended up taking deliver of a car that I purchased on 12/31/13 on 1/13/14. Had it not been for the ridiculous spoiler issue that should not have taken 2 weeks to resolve, this would definitely have been a 5 star review. That part of my review may not interest those who aren't having anything additional done to a vehicle they are purchasing, so all in all the purchase and negotiating part of this deal was seamless and couldn't have gone smoother. read more

Was disappointed. Came in with my wife and daughter to purchase a new Kia Soul for my daughter. We had a trade in (minimal), but I had done my homework and I knew, roughly, what kind of out-the-door price we could expect. We worked with Jackson, who opened with an offer easily 30% over that price. Pissed off my wife, so even though he came down 5K almost immediately, the buying urge had passed and we walked out about 1k apart. We bought a Soul the next day from Lokey for 700 less than we could get Jackson to move. Lesson: Sometimes high-balling can lose you a sale. I understand the way the game is played, but this experience was a good example why new cars should be bought through the Dealer's Internet departments, unless you love the haggle experience. read more

KIAs & Hyundais ARE STRAIGHT UP GARBAGE, PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Very slim chance of a KIA making it to 100k miles without major issues. Their warranties are cleverly designed to only apply to the original owner. 100k miles is 100k miles. Why should it matter who owns the car during that period? It's because they know most original owners won't keep these stressful-to-own, over-engineered (or more like mis-engineered), problem-ridden pieces of junk anywhere remotely close 100k miles. So that's how they can afford to offer such a "great" warranty. These vehicles seemingly come with all this sizzle, only to get all burnt up to a crisp with catastrophic failure when the frying pan gets even a little hot. Of course the KIA sales people will tell you anything to sell you a car. "It's new German engineering from the designer that left Volkswagen" or "The company has really turned itself around in the last couple of years or something along that lines, blah blah blah... Don't fall for it. Don't try and rationalize or justify a purchase (ESPECIALLY PRE-OWNED) for any reason whatsoever. Spend the extra money for a new or CPO Toyota. Avoiding the headaches will be well worth it. If you think you're saving money by buying a KIA - WRONG. Factor in the imperative need for a hit or miss extended warranty and future repairs and you are most DEFINITELY NOT saving any money. If you read this and still decide to be stupid enough to buy a KIA or Hyundai, THAT'S ON YOU. You have been warned. When your KIA craps out on you while you're doing 65 on the highway, remember this message as an "I told you so". But by all means...if unnecessary stress, regret and buyer's remorse is your thing - go ahead and indulge. Go to any KIA owners forum on Facebook and you'll see more videos of people trying to diagnose problems with their KIA then actually enjoying ownership. I mean....think about it. When is the last time you ever heard someone say, "My KIA or Hyundai is SO reliable?" Pretty much NEVER. How many times have you heard this said about Toyota? ALL THE TIME. Even my brother-in-laws Sonata croaked at 82k miles. You don't hear slime balls like Bobby Fucillo on the radio selling Toyota's. Giving away free cruises or TVs with the purchase of a vehicle. That is because Toyota doesn't have to resort to these types of tactics. The quality sells itself. I'm helping my girlfriend initiate a class-action lawsuit for this stupid, useless, faulty AFAIK CVVT system they installed on these cars, similar to the class-action lawsuit that Nissan has already failed to get dismissed. Certifiedtransmissionrepair.com even says these things are more trouble than they're worth. Also submitting a formal complaint with the NHTSA to see if I can get a recall going and plan to reach out to a few lemon law attorneys. I wouldn't be surprised if KIA already knows about this problem, but not voluntarily doing anything about it until the government forces them to do a recall, because they have already too many previous recalls to deal with. Recall, after recall, after recall. Even the front page of their website has a "Recall" tab LMFAO!!! Seriously, if they ever do a re-boot of the movie Total Recall, KIA should be the official sponsor. And speaking of websites, the Crown KIA website only posts positive reviews and filters out the bad. Talk about lack of transparency!! Sad. All smoke and mirrors. Well, for now, I guess I'll be off to every other social media platform I can possibly think of, to rip this brand as much as possible, so the masses can be aware and avoid it. Then to the nearest Toyota dealership to get a Highlander to replace this trash ass Sorrento. If anyone out there decides to dodge a bullet by not buying a KIA because of this advice - you're welcome. P.S. If you love being cheated and having to deal with BS months after buying a "new" vehicle c'mon down to Crown. I really wanted to love this place. Rick C., My salesman at Mitzi was sweet and patient. Got a great deal on the SUV I'd been eyeing for a while. Now Crown Mitsubishi and Crown Kia are like one big dealership there together. Opened a package from Mitsubishi today, congratulating me on my "certified pre-owned vehicle" though my contract states AND I was told my 2013 Mitzi Sport Outlander is brand new. The odometer read at 6 miles and based on the spider webs all over, it'd been sitting a while. Now I am doubting everything and instantly pissed again! When it was time to sign papers, I wound up with Peter in finance at Kia and down hill it goes from there. Grab your popcorn... I went in on a Sunday shortly before close so we rushed over paperwork, got my new Mitzi in to be prettied up, and I was given a run down how to operate the push to start etc. Got a call from my lender to verify info and find out he snuck a warranty in there, upping the amount of my car note!!! Silly me for skimming the paperwork! Peter, sweet and innocent as he may LOOK, totally pulled one over and did not even mention he was adding a warranty!!! I went back, he removed it and provided the updated contract. This was March. My lender finally agreed to accept my updated contract after 2 months of waiting for Peter to with not one, I repeat one, returned call!!! This is even after others in the office said they'd leave a note on his desk. The bank says he's never followed up with their funding dept to get the additional $30+ taken off so I am still dealing with the bull and paying the additional $$ so my credit won't suffer. I can only call or drive an hour out of my way so many times to reach this guy. To add insult, I am still receiving warranty offers while supposedly paying for one??? Hell I don't even know if I really have a "new" vehicle or not anymore? Looove my vehicle but regret buying here. Each time I get a compliment , I warn others of where NOT to go. Kia: Please work on honest business practices and watching Peter, as I am not the first reviewer to complain about him. This was a major purchase and birthday gift to myself that was initially exciting, then ruined. I'd been searching for this particular vehicle for awhile (2012-13 Sportage SX Mineral Silver base configuration). After looking on Kia's online dealer inventory search I only found 2 within an 200 mile radius! After putting in an initial search request through the Kia website I had a few people call me but no one even had the combination I was looking for on their lots. I had a local dealer near me tell me they had found one and wanted to talk numbers. I told them what I wanted to pay and they were above that. I then contacted Dan Ullian at Crown Kia and after confirmation of the vehicle on his lot we began to put some numbers together. He simply asked me what I was looking to pay, so I wrote out line by line what I wanted and he beat it by $2K. Needless to say, I immediately put a deposit down on my credit card until I was able to go to the dealer. And oh yeah, the dealer was approximately 222 miles away. We had just bought a car for my wife approximately 4 months earlier and had to go through an awful experience to get her used Mazda...the usual: I had to be turned down on price, walk out, they call back 2 weeks later wanting to play ball again, the salesman get the finance guy, the finance guy has to talk to the manager...the usual painful show everyone is used to hearing when trying to buy a car, these guys fit the description to a T. That being said, dealing directly with Dan was honestly the most pleasant car buying experience I've ever had. Before I even got there he emailed over a buyers order with all the information just like we'd spoken about and there was no funny biz with the numbers or trying to hide anything. I'd actually asked him after putting the deposit down over the phone that I didn't want to have to drive there all that way and then have him turn around and change his tune and try to give me another price. He only said, "don't worry, that's not what we do here" After that, again I was still skeptical because of what I had just gone through with the local dealer and my wife's car. It was almost like a battle as if going to war to try an deal with the sales staff. Upon driving up to Tampa and spending the night we met with Dan on Sunday morning after breakfast. He was there and waiting, greeting us at the parking lot. He immediately got the keys for the Sportage and took us over to see it as it had just been detailed for our pickup. So far, so good. We proceeded to take it on a test drive and everything was great! Dan again was just overall pleasant and in now way ever did I even feel like he was trying to sell me at all and I really do appreciate that. After the test drive we sat down at his desk inside to begin the process. Again, this whole time I'm still waiting for the hammer to drop because this has been all going much too well. I'm now waiting to see him get up, have to speak to his manager or change his tune about the price but nothing. He simply shows me the exact same paperwork he'd sent a few days later and asks if we'd like our trader-in evaluated now. This takes a little while because they have to take it out and drive it but upon his return they offer me an amount that is very fair considering that it has 116K miles on it, the ABS/brake warning lights are on and it's a manual transmission. I accepted their offer and we proceeded with the paperwork. Once that was done, he introduced us to the finance manager who would now be taking over the rest of the way. Ok, I thought...here we go, now comes the bad cop part of the story where I'm going to get to find out all the extra add on's and hidden numbers. Zero...nothing. The whole process took about 2.5hrs and was the most pleasant and painless car buying experience I've every had! It truly is refreshing to know that you don't have to go through all the ridiculous games to purchase a car. Sometimes, some of the sales staff you deal with you wonder how they can even function in life. They don't know anything about the cars they are selling, are sometimes ignorant and don't even have manners to begin with (I actually had a salesman tell me when I was looking at my wife car that I could setup/try out the bluetooth in the car after I bought it) After it was all done, Dan walked us through all the features of the car one by one, a true professional. He even had the fuel toped off and the interior windows cleaned because he saw some dirt/dust on them. All in all, if anyone asks me where to buy their next vehicle it will definitely be with Dan at Crown Kia...I'd even tell them to drive the extra 200+ miles. It's worth it and you won't be disappointed! Oh yeah, we also forgot one of the spare "Smart Keys" at the dealer because he'd forgotten it in his pocket when filling up our gas but I had it to me in less than a week in the mail with a personal thank you card, nice touch! Initially, I ran into quite a few issues scheduling a detailing appointment that I thought was included in a protection plan I had purchased. I I would strongly suggest trying IFS carloans.com as opposed to going through Crown Kia. I attempted to get information on a lease purchase through Crown. First of all I was told that they could get me between 5 and 6% interest rate on my car loan, next thing I know they came out with a 7.18 and stated it was because of my FICA information. As I stated in the previous Yelp my FICO score was 731. They were also going to hit me up for another $899 for vehicle prep etc not really sure what it was for..... I was able to get the lease loan through IFScar loans.COM at 6.2% with no vehicle prep OR UNEXPLAINED additional charges. My payments will be appx 30 a month less than Crowns.b I really think it's too bad when car dealerships turns people off. I will not trust Crown Kia and I will never do business with them in the future! I would strongly suggest you check out other avenues if you are going to purchase a leased car. read more

There were only 2 per-owned Optimas within 500 miles of here. I test drove the one at Crown, did some preliminary paperwork, then went to Carmax to drive the other. Carmax folks were wonderful and so was Craig at Kia. All things considered I bought the one from Crown. Friendly folks, very helpful. It felt like dealing with a small town business.
