We were passing through Anna and stopped by Crow's for their "brunch." What a joke. First of all, there were no breakfast foods, making this a lunch buffet, and a sad excuse for one. Choices on the buffet were catfish tenders, chicken tenders, ribs, chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, cream gravy, mac n cheese and a few other things. Everything was dry and bland. The mac n cheese tasted like Kraft and the mashed potatoes were the worst I've ever had. The chicken fried steak was so tough and dry, I couldn't even cut through it. This place is really awesome. I am glad we have something like this down the street from our house. It's a fun atmosphere, and perfect if you want some chicken-fried steak! The burgers & chicken/bacon burgers are good. Fries are super greasy, OK onion rings. No cornbread or rolls with plate lunches.

I am not crazy about their chili but it is homemade (for sure) but, I find it kinda dry. I usually get grilled chicken breast and can recommend it. They grill pineapple rings and it is delicious. The waitpeople are very good when I've been there. It is about mid-price compared to other places. The building is well done. read more

The wife and I are regulars of Crows, enjoy their food weekly for years... until tonight. With Anna having only a few decent restaurants, one would think a restaurant would ensure both their food and their service is top notch. We had a long day a decided to grab a bite for dinner, we arrived at Crows at 8:59pm on Saturday evening. As we pulled up, one of the staff sprinted to the door and locked it!!! We walked to the door, knowing Crows closes at 10pm. Sure enough, the door was locked. We read the hours posted and yup it is clearly posted they close at 10pm. As we stood there in disbelief and hungry, a customer was leaving and the guy that locked the door unlocked it so they could leave. My wife confronted the person responsible for locking the door. His reply was "we are a family owned business and we decided to close early"!!! Ok!? Kind of hard to stay in business with that attitude, especially since we will never return and will make it a point to inform all our friends and family of the way Crows does business. read more

I just don't care for this place. I've eaten there twice and wasn't impressed. The brunch works for a hangover but any other time I would say no thanks. it's close, we've had a few decent meals there and we will likely return now and again. but as another poster mentioned, we hear it's not the same as it used to be. also, after working in the service industry, some things you can just tell are frozen. they are always looking for wait staff. we hear the owners changed hands over the last years (unsure of the truth there but got that from folks that have lived here most or all of their lives. the CFS has always been good, as is the catfish. it's ok for local, but we are sorry we missed it when it was more like true home cooking. read more

Generally the food and atmosphere is great. The service is excellent. However their fries are skinny and overdone. Do not order their baked potato soup. It is like course mashed potatoes and a far cry from soup. You could turn the full bowl upside down and nothing would fall out. read more

this is a place we will go when we are hungry and tired enough to not want to cook or drive out of town. Service is usually poor and food is hit or miss, never reaches delicious though. Management must not care about quality or people. I've had employees gripe about management to me and my boyfriend more than once. Get it together, Crows! The food is great, but the service is TERRIBLE. I have been 3 times and the hostess/servers were always aloof but never rude. The last time I took my husband who had never been there before and as soon as we walked in the door they were rude. Almost like "how dare you enter our resturant". A party of 4 came in 10 mins after us and got their food in about 10 mins (they also got their bread which we did not and they had full cooked food, we ordered a sandwhich and veggie platter), we had been there 20 mins by now and no food, no service or acknowledgement from the Manager or Servers so we left. If they would have acknowledged the delay or us it might have been different. Will not go back! read more

Best home cooking you going to get!! Everything is fresh. Never have we had a bad experience here for dinner. They used to have BREAKFAST on the weekend brunch buffet and it was good, last time we went there was no breakfast just regular food. I am a frequent diner at this local gem but have a minor criticism. I ordered the baked potato soup and the waitress said it could be ordered with chees, bacon and chives. I love real chives so i said ok to all 3 options. The soup was topped with bacon, cheese and green onions. CHIVES are not the same as green onions. Lots of restaurants make this mistake. I criticize them all in theory. Why do some persons think green onions are a substitute for chives? C'mon Crows. gwt a clue! read more

Sadly I have to review badly today. I honestly just left the restaurant with my to go order. I walked in 3 servers pass me and didn't say a darn word like... "welcome" "I'll be right with your or "how are you doing?" We didn't receive all of our order. Absolutely rude people tonight. It was a tall blonde that I had to ask to get my to go order even though she was staring at me a few moments then applied her Chapstick.... never ever coming back to this place again this is sad our last review was very positive I wonder if it's changed hands / management... Called management when I go home making sure I didn't get charged the the the item that was missing. The person that answered the phone was rude right off the bat as well. I hate to give bad reviews but here goes...We've been to Crow's several times over the last couple of years and it seems like the food quality goes down with each visit, perhaps due to the management change last Fall. The food, while plentiful for the price, is inconsistent at best and the sides on our last visit were consistent only in their poor quality. I had a side of macaroni and cheese which was a melted glob of cheese over macaroni that was bland and my fries were definitely on the soggy side. My dining partner had green beans which were limp and overcooked and onion rings which were overbattered with what seemed to be the same batter used on their chicken-fried steaks and heavy. We were barely attended to other than having our drink and meal orders taken and then weren't offered cornbread and rolls that come with every meal. The wait staff seems to be more and more inconsistent with each visit although still very friendly. Unfortunately, this was most likely our last visit to Crow's since it's one of the few dining choices near by in far northern Collin County/western Fannin County. The restaurant does stay busy probably due to the fact that it is the only "home-cooking" establishment nearby but there are far better choices. We were at least offered an "Oh, I'm sorry," when we paid and were asked how everything was. We weren't expecting comped meals but maybe the manager asking how they could improve things would've been nice. read more
