Sunday Brunch Buffet - chicken fried steak, chicken fried chicken, fried catfish, Mac & cheese, and squash casserole
    Abbie J.

This place is our Sunday afternoon go to! We absolutely love KK. She has such incredible service that she feels like part of our family. She knows exactly what drinks we want and says hello with a bright smile every time we walk in. Their Sunday brunch buffet has the most consistently delicious southern comfort food in DFW! My husband loves the chicken fried chicken and mashed potatoes and I literally crave their squash casserole and fried catfish! This place feels like home and tastes like home. It's warm and inviting from the moment you walk in the door until the moment you waddle out ready for an afternoon nap.

I ordered the chicken fried steak. Not only was the batter flavorful. The meat itself was seasoned well! Homemade mashed potatoes were chunky but excellent. Oak was perfect. Ordered a peach cobbler to go. Service was great. Super cute and homey inside. Can't wait to try the brunch buffet.

Love that Yelp helps me find great places no matter where I go. Buffet had great chicken fried steak, fried fish, pot roast, ribs. Desserts were yum. Great lil place.

"Meatloaf" was horrible tastes like watered down meat and was burnt

family friendly Cozy little place to eat nice but dont order the meatloaf. Horrible was burnt and took one bite.... the waitress had the audacity to think we should pay for the $13.00 meal.

Don't understand how this rates $$. Most meals are under $10. Great restaurant, but not open late like places in the city.

I've just ordered and they tell me it's another 25-30 minute wait. I'll be back with a review of the food and more details then. I'm back after a total wait of one hour! Let me say,it was worth the wait. If they are still open when you read this,it's worth the trip. I've had this place book marked several years. Opened in 1951, it's the quintessential small town burger stand. I just forgot about it until the other day when I read they're closing. Don't cry,it's because of real estate values. It's no longer economically feasible to make small profits working hard no matter how good the burgers are. The burgers are really good. This place is slammed. I saw two large door dash orders go out and a lot of people that must have ordered online Coming and going. Finally my name was called and I took my piping hot brown paper sack to the hood of my truck. Looking into the sack, loose fry, pull it out, bite it, perfect. Unwrap burger, looks fantastic, bitting into it.... satisfaction! I'm a sucker for small towns but Anna is no more. In only five years the influx of migrants from other states have fueled exponential growth. It's happening everywhere and places like Spurlocks are the victims. It's our loss too,as these quaint old places harbor a lot of history. The kind that built America. Usually the Yelp community competes to be the first to Review a new business. I find it satisfying in this case and honored that I may be the last to Review... The Malt Shop

And we were not wrong... We tried the cookies and cream malt, fried Oreos, as shown in the picture, and of course we had to get some fries. All came out piping hot, except for the malts, of course. My kid said it was one of the best malts they have ever had, which is a strong statement because they are ice cream connoisseur lol. Their fries were crinkle cut which just added to the old school feel the fried Oreos were cooked to perfection and exactly what I wanted There is a cute little indoor seating area next to the kitchen, but we didn't take advantage of it because we got our food to go. However, we will definitely be back now that we are locals.

Service is excellent the staff is friendly and the owner is super sweet. She wants her customers to be happy. I really appreciated her kindness. Food is good, but it's not your typical American Catfish and appeared to be Swai. Which makes sense as this is an Asian business. I know Swai is a cousin to the Catfish family I'm use too. I will say the portion size is generous. The fish is fried with love and seasoned well. It's cooked to order and came out piping hot. The fries were also hot and crispy. I thought the fries were really good. I enjoyed the jalapeño pepper, tomatoes and pickles. Included was hot sauce, tartar sauce and ranch dressing. Overall I had a good experience and was happy to support.

The first time we tried it, we both had bulgogi beef with our burgers and while it was really good. I didn't like how wet and soggy it made the burger. The catfish was crispy and the bacon on the burger was fantastic!! This is definitely on our Friday night order out spots!!! Oh and I didn't get a picture of the bulgogi fries but those were really good and for some reason not wet or soggy. Give this place some business. Our drinks and appetizers came out in a reasonable amount of time, which we appreciated. The mango margarita was a great choice along with the crispy , well seasoned fried pickles . I absolutely loved the bread with cinnamon butter they brought out while we waited for our meals. My husband ordered the Road Kill and really enjoyed it; he said the meat was juicy, well-seasoned, and topped perfectly with sautéed mushrooms, cheese, and onions. My son went with the country-fried sirloin steak and said he liked it, though he didn't finish because he filled up on too much bread beforehand. I ordered the Steakhouse Filet Salad. It was okay, but the filet had a slightly different flavor that was hard to describe and just wasn't my thing. Overall, aside from the initial wait (which we expected and were prepared for), everything moved along smoothly once we were seated, and we were out at a good time. We'd definitely come back again.

We told our server that between me and my wife, we will be sharing the chicken sandwich and hence requested that it be sliced into 2. Not only were the burgers sliced, it was served in separate plates with sides as well - that was a really nice touch. Cali was a bit bland, Buffalo and Burg B Q were both really nice. The drink was nice as well. There was live music but we were seated near a table that was pretty boisterous, could hardly hear anything.
