I am so glad my husband and I stopped in here for a great meal. The food was excellent, service was great, and the ambiance was exactly what I wanted for an after work meal. Downhill. The entire staff always looks like they just rolled out of bed. No brush, no make-up, no personality (depending on the server). We sat at the bar and there was an awful smell. They must not be cleaning the tap lines. It was awful. The bathroom is gross. Mirror is filthy, the toilet has a grimy rim mark , though there is a toilet wand next to the toilet. Came in at 330 for lunch and a quick beer was told I couldn't have a beer with my brother (we are both legal) because my girlfriend who is 20 was sitting with us, not a big deal but come on she is a month away from 21 and not drinking. Anyways so I'm sitting at this table for a whole 40 minutes while this poor waitress is busting her ass (only one server in the whole place) finally about 50 min after we get here we get water and order (we knew what we wanted cause we are repeat customers). It has now been an hour and 40 minutes since we arrived and still no food in sight. We ordered nachos and a quesadilla I can make both within 10 minutes... Terrible management the bartender is rude and I think she is also the manager (should be fired). Two stars only because of the service - its takes a long time to get a drink at the bar even though it's not that busy. It's all about costumer service. My girlfriend and I were taken back by the terrible service. Took 15 mins to place a drink order at a table and the place was literally empty. The waitress was talking to hostess about dating while we were both literally staring at them with our menus closed. Then the hostess proceeded to skipping up and down the Isles saying I love this song. There is a time and a place for everything. When it comes down to it, it is a mater of respect and being mature. First off, I have to say we were greeted warmly and the bartenders were really nice. However, I think the boneless wings here are awful. Normally I'd chalk it up to a one-time mishap, but this is the second time I've experienced this at a Croxley's. The first time was in Farmingdale, so I decided to try a different location....ie: Franklin Square. I'm not sure what the problem is, but the boneless wings are always so dry, tough and rubbery. However, the sauce is great and so is the portion size??? Sad to say, but I think they must cook them earlier, and then re-fry them when somebody orders them. Either that or leave them under a heat lamp for a while???? I'm not sure what it is, but I know I won't be going back there for boneless wings. Oh my what a horrible nightmare. We waited three hours for a table of 6. The hostess crossed our name off the list even though we waited patiently at the bar and kindly checked every 45 minutes to check. She kept telling us she was waiting for three tables to clear out. After two and a half hours we saw two tables of 4 and 6 being seated before us! The hostess said she crossed our name off and she was sorry. The manager persuaded two customers sitting at a table of 6 to move. Why could't that have been done two hours before? To make matters worse, a waitress brought over three beers that we did not order. We thought this was their way of making amends. We took sips and the same waitress came over and said she made a mistake. We said we'd take the beer and she said she would have to charge us for them! We told her we already took sips and she said she had to dump them and did not offer to give us the beer on her mistake! What a horrible night! Interesting 10 cent wings with a purchase of a drink trick with a 20% automatic gratuity. I didn't want to get beer so I just got two sodas instead. Technically you aren't paying ten cents for just the wings you have to get...a drink and pay for lackluster service.. The minimal meat-y wings were just ok for the "price" and they had a huge selection of taps. A lot of TV and it feels like any other sports bar kind of feel. What's not to love about Croxleys? Great crispy wings, honey medium yum. Cant stand places that make mushy wings. Love the stuffed potato skins and probably the best burgers around. Croxley Ales Ale House was very bad this time around. I went with a buddy of mine for the Mets and Yankees opening day. I had a Young's Chocolate Stout from the tap and it was good. To bad the bartender does not know how to pour beer. Glass was placed on the bar with beer leaking down it's sides and had a head of 6-8 inches tall. Had to wait a few minutes to even taste my beer. I ordered a Ale House Burger that i usually order and it was good but really couldn't enjoy with a swarm of fly's trying to poke at my food. After i finished my burger i discovered dust balls falling from the ceiling. Thank god it didn't fall into my food or drink. I let my buddy know and a few minutes later another dust ball fell from the ceiling and landed on his arm. My buddy ordered some wing's mild and instead of wings coming out from the kitchen an order of boneless wings were placed in front of him. He was kind of upset but is one not to complain. He also told me the boneless wings weren't to great. On a positive note we did get a buyback each. That's a huge bonus at a bar. Went in last night for some drinks and food. My girl and i ordered wings, artichoke spinach dip and chips, calamari, and their ale house burger. I'll start by saying their food is not good at all other than the wings and the chips for the dip. The wings were fried nice and crisp, cant complain about that. The dip... lord the dip.... the spinach to cheese ratio was so off. It was so thick to the point we used a fork to mix it up and it just stuck right on the fork, It was just sitting there! There was more spinach than cheese. The flavor was so bland, it tasted like someone was at home and wanted to try it and just put everything in a pot and there you go. No salt no nothing...horrible. Then the calamari came out and it was the most whitest calamari i have ever seen. You know when they give you the description of the food in the menu book " lightly battered" well this was barely battered. It literally had barely any batter. I had to touch it to double check it had any crunch to it because it look like it wasnt fried with anything over it. The flavor forget it... beyond horrible absolutely NOTHING and the marinara sauce couldnt even try to save it. It was just bad. And i added table salt n pepper!! Nope..And last but not least the burger. It was big and looked amazing. Cant go wrong with a burger right?!...wrong!! I asked for medium well it came out well done my bread was burnt, the patty was burnt. The bartender said "i thought u asked for medium well" i said yea Medium well...she just stared at me in awkwardness. The only reason i gave it 3 stars were bc our drinks were good I mean they were simple i had a beer and my girl had some type of cocktail and its a pretty decent chill spot. This is a place that Ive been plenty of times. They have very cheap ( AND GOOD ) wings and nice selection of beers. Every time ive been there the staff was friendly, they had a great knowledge about the liquors and beers, and was always very nice. BUT the last time we were there was such a disaster! We arrived and got a booth pretty quick, but the waitress was terrible!!!!! She was full of attitude, rude, no good will, didnt have any interest at all to answer any of our questions ( everything was answered by "I don't know "), everyone to get the wings deal ($0.30 wings) need to spend at least $5 in a drink, we ordered 3 drinks that she said they didnt have, then she said that she would take out of the bill, we had our happy hour without worrying with that one missing drink (out of 4), after we are done we wait 10 minutes for the check, she vanishes, we leave money on the table with tips and when we are about to get out of the restaurant she screams at us saying that we didnt pay, we informed that we left the money on the table ( after counting everything, taxes and tip) she comes out chasing saying that we were short. In the end she charged us for the drink she said she wouldnt after asking for 3 and they didnt have what we wanted. Very disappointed and they wont see us for a long while read more

Very deep beer selection. over 60 beers on tap and a lot of bottled craft, artisan and imported beers. the burgers are good. one of the things this place is known for, the bar food, is good also. their 10 cent wings nights do not disappoint. the bar tenders are very knowledgeable about the beers they serve and make good recommendations according to your preferences. they make it a point to make it known that they do not serve the regular coors light, bud light etc. read more

So let me start off by saying this bartender Marissa, was the rudest female I've ever met. I came in, place was pretty empty seemed like a couple regulars were there, I sat down and immediately got ignored. About 15 minutes in, she FINALLY approached me. She asked me if she could get me anything, I asked for a menu, she gives me it. Literally already knew what I wanted. I waited patiently for 10 more minutes ( it wasn't even busy). I flagged her down, she acknowledges me and gives me a stare. Doesn't move, continues to do nothing, shortly after a group of 5 walks in and takes their seats. She immediately approaches them and asks them ever so nicely what they would like. As I was staring at her trying to get her attention she proceeded to ignore me, over and over. We're now at 25 minutes waiting for me to just place my order. The group that came after me got their whole order taken, got their beers etc. meanwhile me, I'm still waiting to specifically place my initial order. Unbelievably ridiculous the way I was treated. She is very rude and inconsiderate of this companies customers. Never have I ever been treated so unfairly in a bar at the very least. I'm sure she works on tips so she should be more mindful of the people that approach her at the bar. I would not be back, terrible service. read more
